Kontinuirano uzimanje barem 75 miligrama aspirina na dan tijekom pet godina može čak za 60 posto smanjiti broj smrtnih slučajeva kod oboljelih od raka, tvrde britanski znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta Oxford i nekih drugih centara.

Rezultat je to analize osam različitih istraživanja kojima je bilo obuhvaćeno više od 25.500 pacijenata uglavnom iz Velike Britanije, a neka su prijašnja ispitivanja pokazala da niske doze ove moćne tablete čak za trećinu smanjuju smrtnost od raka debeloga crijeva.

Inače, rezultate ove studije objavio je “The Lancet”, jedan od najuglednijih medicinskih časopisa na svijetu. No, unatoč ovako ohrabrujućim rezultatima studije, treba znati da uzimanje aspirina nije preporučljivo svim ljudima.

Prof. Peter Rothwell, voditelj studije iz bolnice “John Radcliffe” na Sveučilištu Oxford, ističe da odrasli ljudi ne bi smjeli sada početi masovno koristiti aspirin, te upozorava da taj lijek kao i svi drugi osim dobrih strana ima i nuspojave među kojima je i moguće krvarenje.

Stoga uvijek odluku o uzimanju aspirina donesite u dogovoru sa svojim liječnikom koji će najbolje procijeniti odnos koristi i moguće štete. Osim toga treba znati da uzimanje povećanih doza aspirina ne povećava njegovo zaštitno djelovanje, kao i to da samo njegovo kontinuirano doziranje ima zaštitni učinak. Valja odvagnuti moguće koristi i štete.

No što se aspirin duže uzimao, rizik od fatalnog ishoda bio je manji.

Kontinuirano uzimanje barem 75 miligrama aspirina na dan tijekom pet godina može čak za 60 posto smanjiti broj smrtnih slučajeva kod oboljelih od raka, tvrde britanski znanstvenici sa Sveučilišta Oxford i nekih drugih centara.

Rezultat je to analize osam različitih istraživanja kojima je bilo obuhvaćeno više od 25.500 pacijenata uglavnom iz Velike Britanije, a neka su prijašnja ispitivanja pokazala da niske doze ove moćne tablete čak za trećinu smanjuju smrtnost od raka debeloga crijeva.

Inače, rezultate ove studije objavio je “The Lancet”, jedan od najuglednijih medicinskih časopisa na svijetu. No, unatoč ovako ohrabrujućim rezultatima studije, treba znati da uzimanje aspirina nije preporučljivo svim ljudima.

Prof. Peter Rothwell, voditelj studije iz bolnice “John Radcliffe” na Sveučilištu Oxford, ističe da odrasli ljudi ne bi smjeli sada početi masovno koristiti aspirin, te upozorava da taj lijek kao i svi drugi osim dobrih strana ima i nuspojave među kojima je i moguće krvarenje.

Stoga uvijek odluku o uzimanju aspirina donesite u dogovoru sa svojim liječnikom koji će najbolje procijeniti odnos koristi i moguće štete. Osim toga treba znati da uzimanje povećanih doza aspirina ne povećava njegovo zaštitno djelovanje, kao i to da samo njegovo kontinuirano doziranje ima zaštitni učinak. Valja odvagnuti moguće koristi i štete.

No što se aspirin duže uzimao, rizik od fatalnog ishoda bio je manji.
