Osim kad se razbolimo pa je jasno da nije u najboljem stanju, svi se pitamo koliko dobro radi prirodna obrana našeg organizma i koliko su učinkoviti zdrava prehrana i aktivni život, za koje znamo da jačaju naš imunosni sustav. No, postoji nekoliko jasnih i provjerljivih parametara koji nam mogu pomoći da dobijemo uvid u to u kakvom nam je stanju imunosni sustav. Naravno, nećete trčati liječniku svaki put kada vas spopadne znatiželja o tome kakav vam je imunosni status, ali ovi laboratorijski testovi mogu se obaviti na godišnjem ili povremenim liječničkim pregledima.
1. Kompletna krvna slika
Potpuna krvna slika polazna je točka kako bi se vidjelo postoji li disfunkcija imunosnih stanica. Krvna slika mjeri različite značajke krvi, uključujući crvene i bijele krvne stanice, trombocite, hemoglobin i hematokrit. Različite vrste bijelih krvnih stanica (poput neutrofila, limfocita, bazofila itd.) mogu puno otkriti o našem imunosnom odgovoru. Na primjer, neutrofili se povećavaju kada imamo infekciju.
2. Metaboličko zdravlje i markeri upale
Metaboličko zdravlje i upala idu ruku pod ruku s imunitetom jer imunosni sustav djeluje kao senzor našeg metaboličkog stanja. S liječnikom možete dogovoriti i provjeru metaboličkih zdravstvenih markera - opsega struka, krvnog tlaka, šećera u krvi, lipida, dok će C-reaktivni protein (CRP), serumski feritin i D-dimer signalizirati postoji li upala u tijelu.
3. Status vitamina D
Znamo već da je uloga vitamina D važna za naš imunitet te se njegovom adekvatnom koncentracijom smatra ≥ 75 nmol/L. Niže razine mogu se očekivati kod onih koji se rijetko izlažu suncu, nose zaštitnu odjeću i koriste sredstva za zaštitu od sunca, osoba tamnije puti, pretilih, onih koji uzimaju lijekove koji utječu na metabolizam vitamina D (poglavito glukokortikoidi i antiepileptici), kod starijih osoba, trudnica i dojenčadi, kod osoba koje su operirane (osobito bolesti i kirurški zahvati u probavnom sustavu), kao i u onih koji boluju od osteoporoze, bolesti bubrega i jetre, autoimunih, zloćudnih, endokrino - loških, neuroloških, psihijatrijskih bolesti...
4. Razina vitamina C
Vitamin C ima veliku ulogu u imunitetu, naime potiče umnožavanje limfocita za borbu protiv stranih osvajača u tijelu i pomaže neutrofilima da "jedu" i uništavaju loše mikrobe. Iako se rijetko radi, može se zatražiti laboratorijska provjera razine askorbinske kiseline u plazmi. Ali ako u prehrani nemate dovoljno voća i povrća te bjelančevina (pa imate manjak željeza), pušite, krvare vam desni dok perete zube ili ste nedavno preboljeli bolest praćenu vrućicom, bili na operaciji ili doživjeli neki stres, možete posumnjati da su vam razine vitamina C niske. U odraslih se simptomi manjka vitamina C razvijaju tek nakon više mjeseci. No, rano se mogu pojaviti tromost, slabost, razdražljivost, gubitak težine i neodređene mialgije i artralgije. Kasnije se razvijaju simptomi povezani s poremećajima vezivnog tkiva. Rane slabo cijele i lako se otvaraju, a može doći i do spontanih krvarenja.
5. Razine cinka
Cink je mineral u tragovima koji je ključan za razvoj i funkciju mnogih imunosnih stanica u našem prirođenom (neutrofili, makrofagi i prirodne stanice ubojice) i stečenom (B-stanice i T-stanice) imunosnom odgovoru. Da bismo testirali svoju prirodnu razinu cinka, možemo napraviti serumski test. Referentni raspon je od 9 do 18 mmol/L, a snižene razine mogu se očekivati kod onih s Crohnovom bolesti, ulceroznim kolitisom, celijakijom, kroničnom bolesti jetre, kod alkoholizma, gubitka cinka (insuficijencija bubrega, dijabetes, opekline, uzimanje laksativa, proljev) te kod onih na parenteralnoj prehrani.

Svi se sigurno pitamo koliko dobro radi prirodna obrana našeg organizma, piše Živim.
Osim kad se razbolimo pa je jasno da nije u najboljem stanju, svi se pitamo koliko dobro radi prirodna obrana našeg organizma i koliko su učinkoviti zdrava prehrana i aktivni život, za koje znamo da jačaju naš imunosni sustav. No, postoji nekoliko jasnih i provjerljivih parametara koji nam mogu pomoći da dobijemo uvid u to u kakvom nam je stanju imunosni sustav. Naravno, nećete trčati liječniku svaki put kada vas spopadne znatiželja o tome kakav vam je imunosni status, ali ovi laboratorijski testovi mogu se obaviti na godišnjem ili povremenim liječničkim pregledima.
1. Kompletna krvna slika
Potpuna krvna slika polazna je točka kako bi se vidjelo postoji li disfunkcija imunosnih stanica. Krvna slika mjeri različite značajke krvi, uključujući crvene i bijele krvne stanice, trombocite, hemoglobin i hematokrit. Različite vrste bijelih krvnih stanica (poput neutrofila, limfocita, bazofila itd.) mogu puno otkriti o našem imunosnom odgovoru. Na primjer, neutrofili se povećavaju kada imamo infekciju.
2. Metaboličko zdravlje i markeri upale
Metaboličko zdravlje i upala idu ruku pod ruku s imunitetom jer imunosni sustav djeluje kao senzor našeg metaboličkog stanja. S liječnikom možete dogovoriti i provjeru metaboličkih zdravstvenih markera - opsega struka, krvnog tlaka, šećera u krvi, lipida, dok će C-reaktivni protein (CRP), serumski feritin i D-dimer signalizirati postoji li upala u tijelu.
3. Status vitamina D
Znamo već da je uloga vitamina D važna za naš imunitet te se njegovom adekvatnom koncentracijom smatra ≥ 75 nmol/L. Niže razine mogu se očekivati kod onih koji se rijetko izlažu suncu, nose zaštitnu odjeću i koriste sredstva za zaštitu od sunca, osoba tamnije puti, pretilih, onih koji uzimaju lijekove koji utječu na metabolizam vitamina D (poglavito glukokortikoidi i antiepileptici), kod starijih osoba, trudnica i dojenčadi, kod osoba koje su operirane (osobito bolesti i kirurški zahvati u probavnom sustavu), kao i u onih koji boluju od osteoporoze, bolesti bubrega i jetre, autoimunih, zloćudnih, endokrino - loških, neuroloških, psihijatrijskih bolesti...
4. Razina vitamina C
Vitamin C ima veliku ulogu u imunitetu, naime potiče umnožavanje limfocita za borbu protiv stranih osvajača u tijelu i pomaže neutrofilima da "jedu" i uništavaju loše mikrobe. Iako se rijetko radi, može se zatražiti laboratorijska provjera razine askorbinske kiseline u plazmi. Ali ako u prehrani nemate dovoljno voća i povrća te bjelančevina (pa imate manjak željeza), pušite, krvare vam desni dok perete zube ili ste nedavno preboljeli bolest praćenu vrućicom, bili na operaciji ili doživjeli neki stres, možete posumnjati da su vam razine vitamina C niske. U odraslih se simptomi manjka vitamina C razvijaju tek nakon više mjeseci. No, rano se mogu pojaviti tromost, slabost, razdražljivost, gubitak težine i neodređene mialgije i artralgije. Kasnije se razvijaju simptomi povezani s poremećajima vezivnog tkiva. Rane slabo cijele i lako se otvaraju, a može doći i do spontanih krvarenja.
5. Razine cinka
Cink je mineral u tragovima koji je ključan za razvoj i funkciju mnogih imunosnih stanica u našem prirođenom (neutrofili, makrofagi i prirodne stanice ubojice) i stečenom (B-stanice i T-stanice) imunosnom odgovoru. Da bismo testirali svoju prirodnu razinu cinka, možemo napraviti serumski test. Referentni raspon je od 9 do 18 mmol/L, a snižene razine mogu se očekivati kod onih s Crohnovom bolesti, ulceroznim kolitisom, celijakijom, kroničnom bolesti jetre, kod alkoholizma, gubitka cinka (insuficijencija bubrega, dijabetes, opekline, uzimanje laksativa, proljev) te kod onih na parenteralnoj prehrani.
