Celine Dion, kanadska pjevačica, ponovno je odgodila koncerte u sklopu turneje "Courage", a obožavateljima je otkrila da je razlog bolest. Naime, pjevačice boluje od rijetke neurološke bolesti, sindroma ukočene osobe, koja pogađa jednu od milijun osoba na svijetu, piše Živim.

- Već dugo vremena nosim se sa zdravstvenim problemima i bilo mi je jako teško suočiti se s tim izazovima i pričati o svemu što sam proživljavala… Boli me što moram reći da nisam spreman ponovno započeti svoju turneju po Europi u veljači - stoji u objavi na Instagramu. Celine je trebala u sklopu turneje nastupiti i u Zagrebu.

Što je sindrom ukočene osobe?

To je iznimno rijedak poremećaj zbog kojeg se mišići trupa i udova grče i ukoče. Bolest je, nažalost, neizlječiva i još uvijek nije poznat pravi uzrok. Ukočenost može biti toliko ozbiljna da utječe na mobilnost, a oboljeloj osobi mogu zatrebati hodalica ili invalidska kolica. Stanje također može dovesti do grčeva koji stvaraju toliko jake sile da izazivaju prijelom kosti.

Oboljeli često imaju povećanu osjetljivost na buku, iznenadne pokrete i emocionalni stres, što znači da nešto tako jednostavno kao što je kucanje na vratima može "zaključati" pacijente unutar njihovog tijela.

Postoje tri vrste sindroma:

Klasični sindrom: Ukočenost i grčevi se javljaju oko leđa i trbuha, a ponekad i bedara i vrata. S vremenom može uzrokovati zakrivljenost leđa.

Sindrom ukočenih udova: Grčevi posebno utječu na noge i stopala, povremeno uzrokujući njihovo fiksiranje na mjestu. Ruke također mogu biti zahvaćene.

Sindrom ukočene osobe koja se trza: Najrjeđi, najagresivniji oblik, koji uključuje grčeve u svim dijelovima tijela, a zahvaća i glavu i oči.

Stručnjaci ne znaju točno što stoji iza bolesti. Ali vjeruju da bi to moglo biti uzrokovano autoimunom reakcijom, kada tijelo napada vlastite živčane stanice koje kontroliraju kretanje mišića.

Oko 40 posto oboljelih također ima dijabetes tipa 1, što je još jedna autoimuna bolest. Dijabetes tipa 1 je posebno povezan s klasičnim sindrom. Isto tako, druga autoimuna stanja poput vitiliga i perniciozne anemije također su povezana s njim.

Nadalje, stanje je češće kod ljudi s rakom dojke, pluća, bubrega, štitnjače ili debelog crijeva, kao i kod limfoma, ali istraživači još ne znaju zašto.

Kod sindroma ukočene osobe, imunološki sustav napada protein koji pomaže u stvaranju gama-aminomaslačne kiseline (GABA), koja regulira motoričke neurone, živce koji kontroliraju kretanje. Niske razine gama-aminomaslačne kiseline uzrokuju kontinuirano paljenje neurona kada to ne bi trebalo, što rezultira grčevima i ukočenošću.

Koji su simptomi?

Glavni simptomi su grčevi i ukočenost trupa i udova. Grčevi mogu biti potaknuti glasnim zvukovima, a stanje također uzrokuje povećanu osjetljivost na zvuk.

Dodir i emocionalni stres također se mogu osjetiti intenzivnije kao rezultat stanja. Grčevi mogu biti toliko jaki da uzrokuju pad ljudi ili uzrokuju poteškoće pri hodanju i druge invaliditete.

Stres i tjeskoba također su obično veći kod osoba s tim stanjem, osobito zbog nepredvidivosti grčeva.

Nedostatak GABA-e, koji regulira anksioznost, u njihovom sustavu utječe i na mentalno zdravlje.

Dijagnoza i liječenje

S obzirom na to da je riječ o rijetkoj bolesti, često se pogrešno zamjenjuju s Parkinsonovom bolešću ili multiplom sklerozom (MS). Zbog toga dijagnosticiranje sindroma može potrajati dugo.

Ali ako liječnici posumnjaju na sindrom ukočene osobe, mogu to potvrditi s dva testa.

Prvi traži antitijela na prethodno spomenuti protein, koji se zove dekarboksilaza glutaminske kiseline (GAD), u krvi. Visoke razine GAD protutijela upućuju na pojavu sindroma ukočene osobe.

Drugi test je elektromiogram (EMG), koji procjenjuje zdravlje mišića i motornog neurona. Liječnici ubadaju iglu izravno u zahvaćene mišiće i bilježe električnu aktivnost u njima.

Nažalost, lijeka nema, ali mogu se kontrolirati simptomi kod većine pacijenata. Lijekovi uključujući diazepam i baklofen, koji kontroliraju grčeve, mogu pomoći u reguliranju epizoda i smanjenju ukočenosti. Nekim pacijentima s težim simptomima također se daju terapije za manipuliranje njihovim imunološkim sustavom, s ciljem povećanja razine GABA.

U nekim slučajevima mogu se dati transfuzije imunoglobulina kako bi se utjecalo na razine antitijela u krvi. Također se mogu propisati sedativi i steroidi. Isto tako, pacijentima se često propisuje fizikalna terapija i terapija vodom kako bi se poboljšao rad njihovih mišića, piše Živim.

Celine Dion, kanadska pjevačica, ponovno je odgodila koncerte u sklopu turneje "Courage", a obožavateljima je otkrila da je razlog bolest. Naime, pjevačice boluje od rijetke neurološke bolesti, sindroma ukočene osobe, koja pogađa jednu od milijun osoba na svijetu, piše Živim.

- Već dugo vremena nosim se sa zdravstvenim problemima i bilo mi je jako teško suočiti se s tim izazovima i pričati o svemu što sam proživljavala… Boli me što moram reći da nisam spreman ponovno započeti svoju turneju po Europi u veljači - stoji u objavi na Instagramu. Celine je trebala u sklopu turneje nastupiti i u Zagrebu.

Što je sindrom ukočene osobe?

To je iznimno rijedak poremećaj zbog kojeg se mišići trupa i udova grče i ukoče. Bolest je, nažalost, neizlječiva i još uvijek nije poznat pravi uzrok. Ukočenost može biti toliko ozbiljna da utječe na mobilnost, a oboljeloj osobi mogu zatrebati hodalica ili invalidska kolica. Stanje također može dovesti do grčeva koji stvaraju toliko jake sile da izazivaju prijelom kosti.

Oboljeli često imaju povećanu osjetljivost na buku, iznenadne pokrete i emocionalni stres, što znači da nešto tako jednostavno kao što je kucanje na vratima može "zaključati" pacijente unutar njihovog tijela.

Postoje tri vrste sindroma:

Klasični sindrom: Ukočenost i grčevi se javljaju oko leđa i trbuha, a ponekad i bedara i vrata. S vremenom može uzrokovati zakrivljenost leđa.

Sindrom ukočenih udova: Grčevi posebno utječu na noge i stopala, povremeno uzrokujući njihovo fiksiranje na mjestu. Ruke također mogu biti zahvaćene.

Sindrom ukočene osobe koja se trza: Najrjeđi, najagresivniji oblik, koji uključuje grčeve u svim dijelovima tijela, a zahvaća i glavu i oči.

Stručnjaci ne znaju točno što stoji iza bolesti. Ali vjeruju da bi to moglo biti uzrokovano autoimunom reakcijom, kada tijelo napada vlastite živčane stanice koje kontroliraju kretanje mišića.

Oko 40 posto oboljelih također ima dijabetes tipa 1, što je još jedna autoimuna bolest. Dijabetes tipa 1 je posebno povezan s klasičnim sindrom. Isto tako, druga autoimuna stanja poput vitiliga i perniciozne anemije također su povezana s njim.

Nadalje, stanje je češće kod ljudi s rakom dojke, pluća, bubrega, štitnjače ili debelog crijeva, kao i kod limfoma, ali istraživači još ne znaju zašto.

Kod sindroma ukočene osobe, imunološki sustav napada protein koji pomaže u stvaranju gama-aminomaslačne kiseline (GABA), koja regulira motoričke neurone, živce koji kontroliraju kretanje. Niske razine gama-aminomaslačne kiseline uzrokuju kontinuirano paljenje neurona kada to ne bi trebalo, što rezultira grčevima i ukočenošću.

Koji su simptomi?

Glavni simptomi su grčevi i ukočenost trupa i udova. Grčevi mogu biti potaknuti glasnim zvukovima, a stanje također uzrokuje povećanu osjetljivost na zvuk.

Dodir i emocionalni stres također se mogu osjetiti intenzivnije kao rezultat stanja. Grčevi mogu biti toliko jaki da uzrokuju pad ljudi ili uzrokuju poteškoće pri hodanju i druge invaliditete.

Stres i tjeskoba također su obično veći kod osoba s tim stanjem, osobito zbog nepredvidivosti grčeva.

Nedostatak GABA-e, koji regulira anksioznost, u njihovom sustavu utječe i na mentalno zdravlje.

Dijagnoza i liječenje

S obzirom na to da je riječ o rijetkoj bolesti, često se pogrešno zamjenjuju s Parkinsonovom bolešću ili multiplom sklerozom (MS). Zbog toga dijagnosticiranje sindroma može potrajati dugo.

Ali ako liječnici posumnjaju na sindrom ukočene osobe, mogu to potvrditi s dva testa.

Prvi traži antitijela na prethodno spomenuti protein, koji se zove dekarboksilaza glutaminske kiseline (GAD), u krvi. Visoke razine GAD protutijela upućuju na pojavu sindroma ukočene osobe.

Drugi test je elektromiogram (EMG), koji procjenjuje zdravlje mišića i motornog neurona. Liječnici ubadaju iglu izravno u zahvaćene mišiće i bilježe električnu aktivnost u njima.

Nažalost, lijeka nema, ali mogu se kontrolirati simptomi kod većine pacijenata. Lijekovi uključujući diazepam i baklofen, koji kontroliraju grčeve, mogu pomoći u reguliranju epizoda i smanjenju ukočenosti. Nekim pacijentima s težim simptomima također se daju terapije za manipuliranje njihovim imunološkim sustavom, s ciljem povećanja razine GABA.

U nekim slučajevima mogu se dati transfuzije imunoglobulina kako bi se utjecalo na razine antitijela u krvi. Također se mogu propisati sedativi i steroidi. Isto tako, pacijentima se često propisuje fizikalna terapija i terapija vodom kako bi se poboljšao rad njihovih mišića, piše Živim.
