Hepatitis je bolest jetre koju karakterizira prisutnost upale, a može biti akutna i kronična. Ova se bolest može pojaviti bez simptoma, a ponekad je upozoravaju podmukli znakovi poput kroničnog umora, nelagode u trbuhu i zaboravljivosti.

Kronični virusni hepatitis definira se kao upala jetre koja traje dulje od šest mjeseci, a uzrokuje je jedan od primarno hepatotropnih virusa: hepatitis B, C, D ili G. Ti se hepatitisi razlikuju po načinu prijenosa, trajanju inkubacije, težini bolesti, mogućnosti prijelaza u kroničnu upalu tj. kronični hepatitis i razvoj ozbiljnijih komplikacija.
Ako se ne liječi, dovodi do ciroze i raka jetre
Najopasniji i najnezgodniji virusi su C i B. Ako se ne liječe, infekcija je najčešće doživotna, s tim da u 20 posto bolesnika nakon 20 do 30 godina dolazi do ciroze jetre, posljedičnog gubitka rad jetre i rak jetre, piše Kurir.
Kronični hepatitis nema gotovo nikakvih simptoma. Pacijenti se žale na povremenu nelagodu u trbuhu, pospanost i kronični umor, ponekad i zaboravnost, dakle ništa što bi pacijenta navelo da se obrati liječniku, ali to se tumači modernim načinom života. Zato je vrlo važno barem jednom godišnje napraviti mjerenje jetrenih enzima, transaminaza. Ipak, moram napomenuti da ni normalni jetreni enzimi ne isključuju kroničnu bolest jetre. Zato bi bilo idealno da se svatko barem jednom u životu testira na hepatitis B i C, a posebno na hepatitis C jer su to preporuke svih vodećih hepatoloških udruga – objašnjava jedna infektologinja.

Virus se obično otkrije godinama nakon infekcije
Istraživanja pokazuju da će samo oko 20 do 30 posto ljudi s hepatitisom C razviti znakove i simptome virusa nedugo nakon zaraze. Simptomi koji se razviju, poput umora ili nelagode u želucu, mogu biti blagi ili nespecifični, tako da je malo vjerojatno da ćete otići liječniku. Tipično, virus se otkriva godinama nakon infekcije. Hepatitis je bolest jetre koju karakterizira prisutnost upale, a može biti akutna i kronična. Ova se bolest može pojaviti bez simptoma, a ponekad je upozoravaju podmukli znakovi poput kroničnog umora, nelagode u trbuhu i zaboravljivosti.

Kronični virusni hepatitis definira se kao upala jetre koja traje dulje od šest mjeseci, a uzrokuje je jedan od primarno hepatotropnih virusa: hepatitis B, C, D ili G. Ti se hepatitisi razlikuju po načinu prijenosa, trajanju inkubacije, težini bolesti, mogućnosti prijelaza u kroničnu upalu tj. kronični hepatitis i razvoj ozbiljnijih komplikacija.
Ako se ne liječi, dovodi do ciroze i raka jetre
Najopasniji i najnezgodniji virusi su C i B. Ako se ne liječe, infekcija je najčešće doživotna, s tim da u 20 posto bolesnika nakon 20 do 30 godina dolazi do ciroze jetre, posljedičnog gubitka rad jetre i rak jetre, piše Kurir.
Kronični hepatitis nema gotovo nikakvih simptoma. Pacijenti se žale na povremenu nelagodu u trbuhu, pospanost i kronični umor, ponekad i zaboravnost, dakle ništa što bi pacijenta navelo da se obrati liječniku, ali to se tumači modernim načinom života. Zato je vrlo važno barem jednom godišnje napraviti mjerenje jetrenih enzima, transaminaza. Ipak, moram napomenuti da ni normalni jetreni enzimi ne isključuju kroničnu bolest jetre. Zato bi bilo idealno da se svatko barem jednom u životu testira na hepatitis B i C, a posebno na hepatitis C jer su to preporuke svih vodećih hepatoloških udruga – objašnjava jedna infektologinja.

Virus se obično otkrije godinama nakon infekcije
Istraživanja pokazuju da će samo oko 20 do 30 posto ljudi s hepatitisom C razviti znakove i simptome virusa nedugo nakon zaraze. Simptomi koji se razviju, poput umora ili nelagode u želucu, mogu biti blagi ili nespecifični, tako da je malo vjerojatno da ćete otići liječniku. Tipično, virus se otkriva godinama nakon infekcije. Neki ljudi saznaju tek nakon što se testiraju na hepatitis C ili nakon što se razviju ozbiljni zdravstveni problemi, poput ciroze (ožiljci na jetri), raka jetre ili problema s bubrezima, prenosi Kurir.

Alarmantna statistika
Hepatitis je jedna od najsmrtonosnijih i najzanemarenijih bolesti koja svakih 30 sekundi odnosi jedan život. U svijetu 325 milijuna ljudi živi s hepatitisom. Iskustvo pokazuje da je zapravo najteže otkriti oboljele zbog asimptomatskog karaktera bolesti. Brojke pokazuju da samo 20 posto zaraženih zna svoju dijagnozu.
