No, prema liječnicima i znanstvenicima sa Sveučilišta u Manchesteru, to možda i nisu ideje koje bi trebalo slijediti u životu.

Ne samo da tostiranje na plaži može pridonijeti raku kože i uzrokovati "oštećenje DNK u stanicama kože, upalu i prerano starenje kože", nego može i potkopati obranu kože od patogena, upozorili su znanstvenici, što dovodi do stanja kao što su dermatitis, ekcem i psorijaza.

Kao najveći organ ljudskog tijela, koža je dom složenih skupina bakterija koje štite tijelo, poznatih kao mikrobiom.

No kratkotrajna, ali intenzivna izloženost Suncu "značajno utječe na raznolikost i sastav mikrobioma njihove kože", rekla je Abigail Langton sa sveučilišta u Manchesteru.
