Respiratorni virusi poput koronavirusa šire se kada sluz ili kapljice koje sadrže virus uđu u tijelo kroz oči, nos ili grlo.
Najčešće se to događa preko ruku. Ruke su, uz to, jedan od najčešćih načina na koji se virus širi s jedne osobe na drugu. Tijekom globalne pandemije, jedan od najjeftinijih, najlakših i najvažnijih načina za sprječavanje širenja virusa jest često pranje ruku sapunom i vodom, prenosi dailystar.co.uk.
Redovito pranje ruku je važno kao i činjenica da ne diramo rukama lice, no postavlja se pitanje što je sa kosom, posebice u žena koje imaju dugačku kosu, i koja im često pada preko lica.
Zbog koronavirusa znanstvenici već mjesecima pokušavaju doći do što više informacija i neodgovorenih pitanja kako bi se spriječilo njegovo širenje.
Jedno od pitanja je i koliko ovaj virus može 'živjeti' na različitim površinama.
Na metalnim površinama virusi prežive i dva dana, na kartonu 24 sata, na plastici čak tri, a pitanje je koliko dana ostaju na kosi- zapitao se američki dermatolog Hadley King.
Iako ne postoje precizna istraživanja, dobro je znati. Znanstvenici su uzeli u obzir prethodna istraživanja na osnovu toga koliko najčešće drugi virusi preživljavaju na kosi.
'Virusi obično kraće žive na površinama kakva je kosa, nego, na primjer na glatkim površinama kao što je to čelik - kaže dr. Saad Omer, s Yale Instituta za globalno zdravlje.
S druge strane, dermatolog dr. Adam Friedman objašnjava kako to ovisi o strukturi kose.
-Kada bi istrgnuli jedan mali pramen kose i odložili ga, a netko tko je pozitivan na koronavirus kihne na taj isti 'mrtvi' pramen, mislite li da bi virus mogao 'živjeti' u istrgnutoj kosi? Iz onoga što vidimo u časopisu New England Journal of Medicine, vrlo je moguće da bi na toj površini mogao živjeti i do tri dana - pojasnio je.
Proizlazi da kosa na glavi i ona opala kosa, a koja se zadržava na četki imaju različita svojstva u odnosu na viruse i bakterije.
Zato četke i češljeve valja očistiti prije svakog sljedećeg češljanja jer se virusi i bakterije na njima mogu zadržati i tri dana.
'Kosa ima svoja prirodna ulja koja pokrivaju vlasi i ponašaju se kao svojevrsna zaštita. Ta ulja imaju određena antimikrobna svojstva, i od njih zapravo ovisi koliko se jako i dugo mikroorganizmi mogu 'držati' vlasi.
Ali ne možemo se osloniti samo na proizvodnju prirodnog ulja, pogotovo zato što ono varira, kaže, za svaku osobu i tip kose.
Zato je najbolji način, a da ste sigurni, zaključuje - oprati kosu.
Dr. King preporučuje pranje kose češće nego prije, pogotovo ako je osoba bila na području koja su potencijalno kontaminirana.
-Suzdržite se od bespotrebnog diranja kose, dok ste vani, jednako kao i lice - dodao je.
'Teoretski, virus bi se mogao prenijeti s ruku na kosu, ali ako ne provučete prste kroz kosu, onda svakako postoji manji rizik -zaključio je.
Podignuta kosa, koja se može napraviti u nekoliko minuta, uz češće pranje kose, možda trenutno zvuči kao najbolje moguće rješenje.

Respiratorni virusi poput koronavirusa šire se kada sluz ili kapljice koje sadrže virus uđu u tijelo kroz oči, nos ili grlo.
Najčešće se to događa preko ruku. Ruke su, uz to, jedan od najčešćih načina na koji se virus širi s jedne osobe na drugu. Tijekom globalne pandemije, jedan od najjeftinijih, najlakših i najvažnijih načina za sprječavanje širenja virusa jest često pranje ruku sapunom i vodom, prenosi dailystar.co.uk.
Redovito pranje ruku je važno kao i činjenica da ne diramo rukama lice, no postavlja se pitanje što je sa kosom, posebice u žena koje imaju dugačku kosu, i koja im često pada preko lica.
Zbog koronavirusa znanstvenici već mjesecima pokušavaju doći do što više informacija i neodgovorenih pitanja kako bi se spriječilo njegovo širenje.
Jedno od pitanja je i koliko ovaj virus može 'živjeti' na različitim površinama.
Na metalnim površinama virusi prežive i dva dana, na kartonu 24 sata, na plastici čak tri, a pitanje je koliko dana ostaju na kosi- zapitao se američki dermatolog Hadley King.
Iako ne postoje precizna istraživanja, dobro je znati. Znanstvenici su uzeli u obzir prethodna istraživanja na osnovu toga koliko najčešće drugi virusi preživljavaju na kosi.
'Virusi obično kraće žive na površinama kakva je kosa, nego, na primjer na glatkim površinama kao što je to čelik - kaže dr. Saad Omer, s Yale Instituta za globalno zdravlje.
S druge strane, dermatolog dr. Adam Friedman objašnjava kako to ovisi o strukturi kose.
-Kada bi istrgnuli jedan mali pramen kose i odložili ga, a netko tko je pozitivan na koronavirus kihne na taj isti 'mrtvi' pramen, mislite li da bi virus mogao 'živjeti' u istrgnutoj kosi? Iz onoga što vidimo u časopisu New England Journal of Medicine, vrlo je moguće da bi na toj površini mogao živjeti i do tri dana - pojasnio je.
Proizlazi da kosa na glavi i ona opala kosa, a koja se zadržava na četki imaju različita svojstva u odnosu na viruse i bakterije.
Zato četke i češljeve valja očistiti prije svakog sljedećeg češljanja jer se virusi i bakterije na njima mogu zadržati i tri dana.
'Kosa ima svoja prirodna ulja koja pokrivaju vlasi i ponašaju se kao svojevrsna zaštita. Ta ulja imaju određena antimikrobna svojstva, i od njih zapravo ovisi koliko se jako i dugo mikroorganizmi mogu 'držati' vlasi.
Ali ne možemo se osloniti samo na proizvodnju prirodnog ulja, pogotovo zato što ono varira, kaže, za svaku osobu i tip kose.
Zato je najbolji način, a da ste sigurni, zaključuje - oprati kosu.
Dr. King preporučuje pranje kose češće nego prije, pogotovo ako je osoba bila na području koja su potencijalno kontaminirana.
-Suzdržite se od bespotrebnog diranja kose, dok ste vani, jednako kao i lice - dodao je.
'Teoretski, virus bi se mogao prenijeti s ruku na kosu, ali ako ne provučete prste kroz kosu, onda svakako postoji manji rizik -zaključio je.
Podignuta kosa, koja se može napraviti u nekoliko minuta, uz češće pranje kose, možda trenutno zvuči kao najbolje moguće rješenje.
