Kada gastrointestinalni problemi uključuju Helicobacter pylori, članovi kućanstva oboljelog također bi se trebali testirati na tu bakteriju, pokazalo je kinesko istraživanje. Iako obično asimptomatske, infekcije želuca ili početnog dijela tankog crijeva s H. pylori najčešći su uzroci peptičkog ulkusa. H. pylori također može uzrokovati gastritis i iritaciju želučane sluznice, a u rijetkim slučajevima i ako se ne liječi, može dovesti do raka želuca, piše Živim.

Istraživači u Kini proveli su testove na H. pylori na svim članovima 10.735 obitelji u 29 pokrajina. Među 31.098 ispitanika obuhvaćenih studijom približno 43 posto odraslih i 21 posto djece i adolescenata bilo je zaraženo. Samo 29 posto obitelji nije imalo infekciju. Preostalih 71 posto imalo je barem jednog zaraženog člana, uključujući 20 posto kojima su bili zaraženi svi članovi obitelji, objavili su istraživači u časopisu Gut.
Kontakt sa zaraženim članovima obitelji vjerojatno je glavni izvor širenja, pretpostavili su znanstvenici. Dok je 14 posto djece i adolescenata koji žive s nezaraženim roditeljima i samo bilo zaraženo, ta je stopa bila 34 posto među djecom koja žive s dva zaražena roditelja. Znanstvenici su rekli kako njihova otkrića upućuju na to da kada se ustanovi da je pacijent zaražen s H. pylori, cijela obitelj mora na testiranje i svi zaraženi članovi moraju se liječiti. pylori, članovi kućanstva oboljelog također bi se trebali testirati na tu bakteriju, pokazalo je kinesko istraživanje. Iako obično asimptomatske, infekcije želuca ili početnog dijela tankog crijeva s H. pylori najčešći su uzroci peptičkog ulkusa. H. pylori također može uzrokovati gastritis i iritaciju želučane sluznice, a u rijetkim slučajevima i ako se ne liječi, može dovesti do raka želuca, piše Živim.

Istraživači u Kini proveli su testove na H. pylori na svim članovima 10.735 obitelji u 29 pokrajina. Među 31.098 ispitanika obuhvaćenih studijom približno 43 posto odraslih i 21 posto djece i adolescenata bilo je zaraženo. Samo 29 posto obitelji nije imalo infekciju. Preostalih 71 posto imalo je barem jednog zaraženog člana, uključujući 20 posto kojima su bili zaraženi svi članovi obitelji, objavili su istraživači u časopisu Gut.
Kontakt sa zaraženim članovima obitelji vjerojatno je glavni izvor širenja, pretpostavili su znanstvenici. Dok je 14 posto djece i adolescenata koji žive s nezaraženim roditeljima i samo bilo zaraženo, ta je stopa bila 34 posto među djecom koja žive s dva zaražena roditelja. Znanstvenici su rekli kako njihova otkrića upućuju na to da kada se ustanovi da je pacijent zaražen s H. pylori, cijela obitelj mora na testiranje i svi zaraženi članovi moraju se liječiti. Infekcije se liječe antibioticima, piše Živim.
