Nailazimo na njega u javnim ustanovama, kućama, vikendicama, na terasama... u pravilu objektima kod nas građenih pedesetih, možda i šezdesetih godina. Divan primjer terrazzo podova, primjerice, još uvijek stoji na podovima splitske bolnice na Firulama.
Mnogi ga i ne primijete u uvjetima dok čekaju red na hodnicima, ali ima nas koji čekanje kratimo uživajući u ljepoti takvih podova. I uvijek nam se nameće pitanje zašto smo se ikada rastali s terrazzo podovima i okrenuli se keramičkim pločicama. Jer terazzo nije samo običan pod budući da je uvijek podrazumijevao veliku kreativnost onih koji ga postavljaju.
Uzorak s tradicijom
Terrazzo su obožavali još i stari Rimljani, a sada se srećom vratio iz zaborava kao svjetski trend u uređenju interijera i eksterijera.

A sve je počelo još u antičko doba. Podove su s terrazzom ukrašavali još stari Grci, a onda su ih u svojim palačama željeli i rimski carevi još u trećem stoljeću. No, divne izvedbe terrazza imali su u svojim domovima i nešto siromašniji slojevi stanovništva.

U vrijeme renesanse, u 15. i 16. stoljeću, ovakvi podovi doživljavaju pravi bum, posebice u mediteranskim područjima i na području Venecije. U veličanstvenim crkvenim i svjetovnim zgradama, terrazzo je dopunjavan prekrasnim bezvremenim ukrasima i mozaicima.
Loša reputacija
Koncem 1900-ih i početkom 20. stoljeća terrazzo se preselio u zatvorene prostore, kuhinje, kupaonice, čak i stubišta stambenih zgrada. Tada se već koristio i za izradu sudopera i stolnih ploha.

U poslijeratnom razdoblju prošlog stoljeća terrazzo je konačno osvojio i dnevne boravke i stubišta naših roditelja i baka i djedova, kao ugodan i otporan pod koji je lako održavati. Međutim, ova masovna proizvodnja značila je da je materijal izgubio ekskluzivnost i pao je u nemilost
I konačno, u stalnom otkrivanju novih materijala, dizajneri i arhitekti su skinuli prašinu s ovih “špricanih”, mozaičnih podova i ukazali nam da, poboljšani s novim tehnologijama i načinima stvaranja šara, mogu savršeno izgledati baš u svakoj prostoriji. A s novim načinima uređenja, terrazzo se pokazao i praktičnim jer se njime lako prekrije podno grijanje ili izolacija.

Tajna terrazzove ljepote i prednosti jest u tome što je to kompozitni materijal, dakle, može se stvarati na nove i brojne uzbudljive načine. Ova izdržljiva podna obloga proizvodi se miješanjem finih kamenih komadića s vodom, vapnom i cementom. U mješavini se može koristiti mramor, granit, riječni šljunak, kvarc, pa čak i staklo i metal.
Mali komadići ugrađuju se u kalupe betona i epoksidne smole, a kad se tlo osuši, površina se polira, što podu daje divan sjaj. A komadići se mogu ubacivati na bezbroj načina, mogu se koristiti i kombinirati u svakom zamislivom obliku, boji, veličini i rasporedu.

Budući da je sve u rukama meštara koji rade, varijacijama terrazzo podova zbilja nema kraja i svakodnevno možemo naći sve ljepše i originalnije verzije uzoraka.
Terazzo osvaja
Ta kreativna raznolikost privukla je i interes dizajnera i inspirirala ih da naprave nove kreacije. Pomiješano s novim bojama i oblicima, sada se može pronaći na zidovima, u blagovaonici, vrtu, pa čak i spavaćoj sobi. Mašti nema granica.

Terrazzo se sve više koristi u dizajnu namještaja. Pigmenti i ulošci izrađeni od stakla, porculana i mramora kombiniraju se s obojenim cementom.
Ako mislite da je to vama previše, još uvijek možete biti u trendu, jer terrazzo dezen se koristi i u proizvodnji tekstila za namještaj, pa čak i odjeću. Dakle, čini se da ćemo mu se uskoro svi prikloniti.

Nailazimo na njega u javnim ustanovama, kućama, vikendicama, na terasama... u pravilu objektima kod nas građenih pedesetih, možda i šezdesetih godina. Divan primjer terrazzo podova, primjerice, još uvijek stoji na podovima splitske bolnice na Firulama.
Mnogi ga i ne primijete u uvjetima dok čekaju red na hodnicima, ali ima nas koji čekanje kratimo uživajući u ljepoti takvih podova. I uvijek nam se nameće pitanje zašto smo se ikada rastali s terrazzo podovima i okrenuli se keramičkim pločicama. Jer terazzo nije samo običan pod budući da je uvijek podrazumijevao veliku kreativnost onih koji ga postavljaju.
Uzorak s tradicijom
Terrazzo su obožavali još i stari Rimljani, a sada se srećom vratio iz zaborava kao svjetski trend u uređenju interijera i eksterijera.

A sve je počelo još u antičko doba. Podove su s terrazzom ukrašavali još stari Grci, a onda su ih u svojim palačama željeli i rimski carevi još u trećem stoljeću. No, divne izvedbe terrazza imali su u svojim domovima i nešto siromašniji slojevi stanovništva.

U vrijeme renesanse, u 15. i 16. stoljeću, ovakvi podovi doživljavaju pravi bum, posebice u mediteranskim područjima i na području Venecije. U veličanstvenim crkvenim i svjetovnim zgradama, terrazzo je dopunjavan prekrasnim bezvremenim ukrasima i mozaicima.
Loša reputacija
Koncem 1900-ih i početkom 20. stoljeća terrazzo se preselio u zatvorene prostore, kuhinje, kupaonice, čak i stubišta stambenih zgrada. Tada se već koristio i za izradu sudopera i stolnih ploha.

U poslijeratnom razdoblju prošlog stoljeća terrazzo je konačno osvojio i dnevne boravke i stubišta naših roditelja i baka i djedova, kao ugodan i otporan pod koji je lako održavati. Međutim, ova masovna proizvodnja značila je da je materijal izgubio ekskluzivnost i pao je u nemilost
I konačno, u stalnom otkrivanju novih materijala, dizajneri i arhitekti su skinuli prašinu s ovih “špricanih”, mozaičnih podova i ukazali nam da, poboljšani s novim tehnologijama i načinima stvaranja šara, mogu savršeno izgledati baš u svakoj prostoriji. A s novim načinima uređenja, terrazzo se pokazao i praktičnim jer se njime lako prekrije podno grijanje ili izolacija.

Tajna terrazzove ljepote i prednosti jest u tome što je to kompozitni materijal, dakle, može se stvarati na nove i brojne uzbudljive načine. Ova izdržljiva podna obloga proizvodi se miješanjem finih kamenih komadića s vodom, vapnom i cementom. U mješavini se može koristiti mramor, granit, riječni šljunak, kvarc, pa čak i staklo i metal.
Mali komadići ugrađuju se u kalupe betona i epoksidne smole, a kad se tlo osuši, površina se polira, što podu daje divan sjaj. A komadići se mogu ubacivati na bezbroj načina, mogu se koristiti i kombinirati u svakom zamislivom obliku, boji, veličini i rasporedu.

Budući da je sve u rukama meštara koji rade, varijacijama terrazzo podova zbilja nema kraja i svakodnevno možemo naći sve ljepše i originalnije verzije uzoraka.
Terazzo osvaja
Ta kreativna raznolikost privukla je i interes dizajnera i inspirirala ih da naprave nove kreacije. Pomiješano s novim bojama i oblicima, sada se može pronaći na zidovima, u blagovaonici, vrtu, pa čak i spavaćoj sobi. Mašti nema granica.

Terrazzo se sve više koristi u dizajnu namještaja. Pigmenti i ulošci izrađeni od stakla, porculana i mramora kombiniraju se s obojenim cementom.
Ako mislite da je to vama previše, još uvijek možete biti u trendu, jer terrazzo dezen se koristi i u proizvodnji tekstila za namještaj, pa čak i odjeću. Dakle, čini se da ćemo mu se uskoro svi prikloniti.
