Za neke od nas nema ništa luksuznije od mirisa novog automobila. Taj miris – mješavina nestabilnih plinova koje proizvode nove površine i presvlake – možda podsjeća na novac, ali dulje izlaganje na višim temperaturama ima svoju cijenu za ljude koji dugo vremena provode u svojim novim limenim ljubimcima, piše Science Alert.

Kineski i američki istraživači otkrili su da razine kemikalija koje mogu biti prijetnja zdravlju prelaze sigurna ograničenja u novim automobilima koji su bili parkirani na otvorenom već nakon 12 dana.

Formaldehid, spoj koji se nalazi u dezinfekcijskim sredstvima, sredstvima za ubijanje bakterija i plinskim štednjacima, otkriven je na razinama koje prelaze kineske sigurnosne standarde za čak 35 posto. Acetaldehid, spoj koji je vjerojatno karcinogen, je otkriven u koncentracijama koje prelaze sigurnosna ograničenja za zabrinjavajućih 61 posto.

Također su otkrivene opasne razine benzena, spoja koji se nalazi u bojama, gorivu i cigaretama. Ipak, on je opasan za vozače koji mnogo vremena provode u automobilima, no ne i za njihove suputnike, prenosi N1.

Ukupan rizik za pojavu raka (ILCR) izazvan tim spojevima koji je otkriven u novom automobilu korištenom u studiji bio je dovoljno visok da sugerira “visoki rizik po zdravlje vozača.

“Općenito se ILCR od 10-6 ili manje smatra sigurnim, između 10-6 i 10-4 potencijalnim, a viši od 10-4 smatra se visokim potencijalnim rizikom po zdravlje”, objašnjavaju istraživači.

Studija je procijenila izloženost taksista i suvozača (od kojih prvi u automobilu svaki dan provedu 11, a drugi do 1,5 sati) spojevima koji se mogu udahnuti ili upiti kroz kožu.

U eksperimentu je korišten terenac srednje veličine, opremljen plastikom, imitacijom kože, tkaninom i flisom. Kada su potpuno novi, ti proizvodi u zrak otpuštaju nestabilne organske spojeve.

Istraživači su uzimali uzorke zraka iz automobila kako bi odredili koncentracije 20 kemikalija u različitim vremenima.

Kako se automobil tijekom dana zagrijavao, temperatura u njegovoj unutrašnjosti oštro je varirala od 21 do čak 63 stupnja Celzijusa.

Koncentracije kemikalija kretale su se u cikličkom uzorku na koji je utjecala temperatura površina unutar automobila.

Prethodna istraživanja provedena u Kaliforniji pokazala su da samo 20-minutna vožnja u novom automobilu ljude može izložiti opasnim razinama benzena i formaldehida, a rizici rastu za one koji u automobilima sjede dulje.

I dok ovi rezultati zasigurno privlače pažnju, ipak treba uzeti u obzir da izloženost kemikalijama u novim automobilima može biti umanjena ako se provedu neki zdravorazumski koraci.

Ili, jednostavnije, možete kupiti rabljeni automobil ili koristiti alternativna prijevozna sredstva. Ako si ne možete priuštiti ni rabljeni luksuzni automobil, možda bi bilo pametno preskočiti vožnju i umjesto toga šetati kadgod je to moguće. Barem ćete lakše disati.

Za neke od nas nema ništa luksuznije od mirisa novog automobila. Taj miris – mješavina nestabilnih plinova koje proizvode nove površine i presvlake – možda podsjeća na novac, ali dulje izlaganje na višim temperaturama ima svoju cijenu za ljude koji dugo vremena provode u svojim novim limenim ljubimcima, piše Science Alert.

Kineski i američki istraživači otkrili su da razine kemikalija koje mogu biti prijetnja zdravlju prelaze sigurna ograničenja u novim automobilima koji su bili parkirani na otvorenom već nakon 12 dana.

Formaldehid, spoj koji se nalazi u dezinfekcijskim sredstvima, sredstvima za ubijanje bakterija i plinskim štednjacima, otkriven je na razinama koje prelaze kineske sigurnosne standarde za čak 35 posto. Acetaldehid, spoj koji je vjerojatno karcinogen, je otkriven u koncentracijama koje prelaze sigurnosna ograničenja za zabrinjavajućih 61 posto.

Također su otkrivene opasne razine benzena, spoja koji se nalazi u bojama, gorivu i cigaretama. Ipak, on je opasan za vozače koji mnogo vremena provode u automobilima, no ne i za njihove suputnike, prenosi N1.

Ukupan rizik za pojavu raka (ILCR) izazvan tim spojevima koji je otkriven u novom automobilu korištenom u studiji bio je dovoljno visok da sugerira “visoki rizik po zdravlje vozača.

“Općenito se ILCR od 10-6 ili manje smatra sigurnim, između 10-6 i 10-4 potencijalnim, a viši od 10-4 smatra se visokim potencijalnim rizikom po zdravlje”, objašnjavaju istraživači.

Studija je procijenila izloženost taksista i suvozača (od kojih prvi u automobilu svaki dan provedu 11, a drugi do 1,5 sati) spojevima koji se mogu udahnuti ili upiti kroz kožu.

U eksperimentu je korišten terenac srednje veličine, opremljen plastikom, imitacijom kože, tkaninom i flisom. Kada su potpuno novi, ti proizvodi u zrak otpuštaju nestabilne organske spojeve.

Istraživači su uzimali uzorke zraka iz automobila kako bi odredili koncentracije 20 kemikalija u različitim vremenima.

Kako se automobil tijekom dana zagrijavao, temperatura u njegovoj unutrašnjosti oštro je varirala od 21 do čak 63 stupnja Celzijusa.

Koncentracije kemikalija kretale su se u cikličkom uzorku na koji je utjecala temperatura površina unutar automobila.

Prethodna istraživanja provedena u Kaliforniji pokazala su da samo 20-minutna vožnja u novom automobilu ljude može izložiti opasnim razinama benzena i formaldehida, a rizici rastu za one koji u automobilima sjede dulje.

I dok ovi rezultati zasigurno privlače pažnju, ipak treba uzeti u obzir da izloženost kemikalijama u novim automobilima može biti umanjena ako se provedu neki zdravorazumski koraci.

Za neke od nas nema ništa luksuznije od mirisa novog automobila. Taj miris – mješavina nestabilnih plinova koje proizvode nove površine i presvlake – možda podsjeća na novac, ali dulje izlaganje na višim temperaturama ima svoju cijenu za ljude koji dugo vremena provode u svojim novim limenim ljubimcima, piše Science Alert.

Kineski i američki istraživači otkrili su da razine kemikalija koje mogu biti prijetnja zdravlju prelaze sigurna ograničenja u novim automobilima koji su bili parkirani na otvorenom već nakon 12 dana.
