Režeća motorka, “trade mark” franšize “Zla smrt”, preuzima funkciju tzv. Čehovljeve puške u najnovijem, petom dijelu serijala, podnaslovljenom “Buđenje” (“Evil Dead Rise”). Čehov je rekao “ako u prvom činu puška visi na zidu, ona do trećeg mora opaliti”.

Redatelj filma “Zla smrt: Buđenje” Lee Croninn pušku zamjenjuje motornom pilom. Doduše, motorka ne visi na zidu, ali indikativno je da u prvom činu filma u kadar upada kombi s oznakom “kirurgija drveća”, parkiran u podzemnoj garaži. Fanovima serijala prljava mašta je automatski proradila i, dakako, do trećeg čina motorna pila će zarežati i neće sjeći drveće.

Što je “Evil Dead” bez motorne pile? Ništa, gotovo kao i “Teksaški masakr motornom pilom”. Zna to i Croninn koji je načelno vjeran “Zloj smrti”, tj. prethodnicima Sama Raimija, kao i remakeu Feddea Alvareza iz 2013. od kojeg preuzima vizualnu estetiku, ali ipak uvodi određene novosti u serijal.

Sugerirano je to u uvodu kad kamera u prepoznatljivom “raimijevskom” stilu mahnita kroz šumu i nadlijeće jezero, da bi idući kadar otkrio kako je objektiv ustvari zakačen za dron kojim upravlja jedan mladić. Dron je oznaka moderniziranog pristupa novog filma.

Nakon kraćeg uvoda, koji odaje počast “koliba u šumi” tipologiji serijala uz hororsko čitanje “Orkanskih visova” i jedno prilično neugodno skalpiranje, radnja se stacionira u trošnoj zgradi u gradu umjesto škripavom kućerku usred ničega. Promjena scenografije je dobrodošla s obzirom da je unatrag desetak godina, osim remakea, snimljena i “Koliba u šumi” kao (auto)parodija takvog “cabin in the woods” koncepta koji su samoironično subvertirali još i izvorni “Evil Dead” filmovi.

Ni likovi više nisu isti pa umjesto grupe prijatelja u dvadesetima, lišenih ikakve karakterizacije, imamo obitelj iz klaustrofobičnog stana na zadnjem katu zgrade. Obitelj čine odnedavno samohrana majka Ellie (dojmljiva Alyssa Sutherland) s dvoje tinejdžera, Dannyjem i Bridget (Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols), te klinkom Kassie (Nell Fisher).

Obitelj, mladi i djeca nisu dosad bili žrtve demona u serijalu “Zla smrt”, što povećava emotivne uloge u “Evil Dead Rise”, posebice što u posjet Ellie dolazi njezina otuđena sestra rokerica Beth (dobra Lily Sullivan), ali s druge strane umanjuje apsurdni crni humor prvih filmova.

Beth doznaje da je trudna, a Ellie se hrva s time što sama brine o djeci. Dakle, obje sestre, daleko najbolji likovi filma, imaju vlastite “demone” prije nego pravi demoni uđu u priču kad potres napravi rupu u podu garaže zgrade što vodi do tajne prostorije sa kobnom Knjigom mrtvih pohranjenom u trezoru i Danny – predvidljivo, no neminovno – oslobodi zlo koje, za početak, opsjeda njegovu majku i pretvara je u svojevrsnog ženskog Jokera iz pakla (obratite pažnju na osmijeh).

Opsjedanje se događa u liftu i Cronnin rekreira scenu sa stablom i granjem iz prvog filma: žice i kabeli dizala sputavaju Ellie koja će pod utjecajem demona početi psihofizički terorizirati vlastitu djecu i sestru. Zbog postavljanja likova i situacije, novoj “Zloj smrti” treba (pre)dugo vremena da se pokrene, ali jednom kad krene, film ne staje.

Druga polovica, a napose posljednja trećina, hororski je “rollercoaster” i podiže “Evil Dead Rise” iznad žanrovskog prosjeka s “maštovitim” upošljavanjem raznog oružja i oruđa za postizanje više ili manje dijabolične i groteskne strave i košmarnog užasa. “Je li ovo noćna mora?”, pita mala Kassie. Jest. Tjelesni horor uključuje raznorazna sakaćenja i okrutnosti, uključujući i pomaknuto crnohumornu scenu s okom u stilu “Zle smrti II”.

Recimo da nakon “Evil Dead Rise” kuhinjski ribež više nikad nećete gledati istim očima kad zastruže Bethinu nogu. Beth postaje nevoljka heroina feministički orijentiranog filma, ženska verzija Asha, koja je odlučna spasiti sestrinu djecu nakon što joj je Ellie poručila “Ne daj da uzme moje bebe” i budi u sebi mitski majčinski instinkt poput Ellen Ripley,dok Kassie postaje njezina Newt.

”Zla smrt: Buđenje” je drugi moderni horor koji se u završnici ugleda na “Aliens” nakon “Mame” s Jessicom Chastain također u ulozi rokerice predstavljene kako radi test na trudnoću. Majčinstvo je centralni motiv filma, kao i sestrinstvo, budući da se u “aliensovskom” finalu suprostavljaju dvije majke, ujedno i sestre.

Cronnin zanimljivo provlači i monstruoznost “Stvora” i, napose, krvavost “Isijavanja” s galonima crvene tekućine u dizalu, usput kadrirajući Beth kao praiskonsku heroinu “Špilje užasa” (i pomahnitalog akcijskog “Ubrzanja”) jednom kad “pukne” i probudi u sebi ženu-ratnicu. Kassie i Beth od glave do pete su natopljene krvlju i krv takoreći postaje zaseban lik filma. “Evil Dead Rise” bi lako mogao od remakea preoteti titulu najkrvavijeg horora ikad.

‘Ja neću moći spavati‘

Freddy Kruger je dobio referenciju i u ovom filmu. Spominje se maraton svih filmova s Freddyjem, "čak i onih loših". Nove verzije starih horora su "in" ("Vrisak", "Noć vještica", "Hellraiser"...) pa nije čudno da je i "Zla smrt" došla na red i to prije "Istjerivača đavola", "Stvora" i "Petka 13.". Film je izvorno bio namijenjen za premijeru na HBO Maxu, ali je ipak pušten u svjetska kina gdje je samo u prvom vikendu zaradio 40-ak milijuna dolara na budžet od 15. P.S. "Evil Dead" nije za mlađe od 18 pa nije čudno da je jedna mlađa gledateljica na izlasku iz kina rekla "ja neću moći spavati".

Režeća motorka, “trade mark” franšize “Zla smrt”, preuzima funkciju tzv. Čehovljeve puške u najnovijem, petom dijelu serijala, podnaslovljenom “Buđenje” (“Evil Dead Rise”). Čehov je rekao “ako u prvom činu puška visi na zidu, ona do trećeg mora opaliti”.

Redatelj filma “Zla smrt: Buđenje” Lee Croninn pušku zamjenjuje motornom pilom. Doduše, motorka ne visi na zidu, ali indikativno je da u prvom činu filma u kadar upada kombi s oznakom “kirurgija drveća”, parkiran u podzemnoj garaži. Fanovima serijala prljava mašta je automatski proradila i, dakako, do trećeg čina motorna pila će zarežati i neće sjeći drveće.

Što je “Evil Dead” bez motorne pile? Ništa, gotovo kao i “Teksaški masakr motornom pilom”. Zna to i Croninn koji je načelno vjeran “Zloj smrti”, tj. prethodnicima Sama Raimija, kao i remakeu Feddea Alvareza iz 2013. od kojeg preuzima vizualnu estetiku, ali ipak uvodi određene novosti u serijal.

Sugerirano je to u uvodu kad kamera u prepoznatljivom “raimijevskom” stilu mahnita kroz šumu i nadlijeće jezero, da bi idući kadar otkrio kako je objektiv ustvari zakačen za dron kojim upravlja jedan mladić. Dron je oznaka moderniziranog pristupa novog filma.

Nakon kraćeg uvoda, koji odaje počast “koliba u šumi” tipologiji serijala uz hororsko čitanje “Orkanskih visova” i jedno prilično neugodno skalpiranje, radnja se stacionira u trošnoj zgradi u gradu umjesto škripavom kućerku usred ničega. Promjena scenografije je dobrodošla s obzirom da je unatrag desetak godina, osim remakea, snimljena i “Koliba u šumi” kao (auto)parodija takvog “cabin in the woods” koncepta koji su samoironično subvertirali još i izvorni “Evil Dead” filmovi.

Ni likovi više nisu isti pa umjesto grupe prijatelja u dvadesetima, lišenih ikakve karakterizacije, imamo obitelj iz klaustrofobičnog stana na zadnjem katu zgrade. Obitelj čine odnedavno samohrana majka Ellie (dojmljiva Alyssa Sutherland) s dvoje tinejdžera, Dannyjem i Bridget (Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols), te klinkom Kassie (Nell Fisher).

Obitelj, mladi i djeca nisu dosad bili žrtve demona u serijalu “Zla smrt”, što povećava emotivne uloge u “Evil Dead Rise”, posebice što u posjet Ellie dolazi njezina otuđena sestra rokerica Beth (dobra Lily Sullivan), ali s druge strane umanjuje apsurdni crni humor prvih filmova.

Beth doznaje da je trudna, a Ellie se hrva s time što sama brine o djeci. Dakle, obje sestre, daleko najbolji likovi filma, imaju vlastite “demone” prije nego pravi demoni uđu u priču kad potres napravi rupu u podu garaže zgrade što vodi do tajne prostorije sa kobnom Knjigom mrtvih pohranjenom u trezoru i Danny – predvidljivo, no neminovno – oslobodi zlo koje, za početak, opsjeda njegovu majku i pretvara je u svojevrsnog ženskog Jokera iz pakla (obratite pažnju na osmijeh).

Opsjedanje se događa u liftu i Cronnin rekreira scenu sa stablom i granjem iz prvog filma: žice i kabeli dizala sputavaju Ellie koja će pod utjecajem demona početi psihofizički terorizirati vlastitu djecu i sestru. Zbog postavljanja likova i situacije, novoj “Zloj smrti” treba (pre)dugo vremena da se pokrene, ali jednom kad krene, film ne staje.

Druga polovica, a napose posljednja trećina, hororski je “rollercoaster” i podiže “Evil Dead Rise” iznad žanrovskog prosjeka s “maštovitim” upošljavanjem raznog oružja i oruđa za postizanje više ili manje dijabolične i groteskne strave i košmarnog užasa. “Je li ovo noćna mora?”, pita mala Kassie. Jest. Tjelesni horor uključuje raznorazna sakaćenja i okrutnosti, uključujući i pomaknuto crnohumornu scenu s okom u stilu “Zle smrti II”.

Recimo da nakon “Evil Dead Rise” kuhinjski ribež više nikad nećete gledati istim očima kad zastruže Bethinu nogu. Beth postaje nevoljka heroina feministički orijentiranog filma, ženska verzija Asha, koja je odlučna spasiti sestrinu djecu nakon što joj je Ellie poručila “Ne daj da uzme moje bebe” i budi u sebi mitski majčinski instinkt poput Ellen Ripley,dok Kassie postaje njezina Newt.

”Zla smrt: Buđenje” je drugi moderni horor koji se u završnici ugleda na “Aliens” nakon “Mame” s Jessicom Chastain također u ulozi rokerice predstavljene kako radi test na trudnoću. Majčinstvo je centralni motiv filma, kao i sestrinstvo, budući da se u “aliensovskom” finalu suprostavljaju dvije majke, ujedno i sestre.

Cronnin zanimljivo provlači i monstruoznost “Stvora” i, napose, krvavost “Isijavanja” s galonima crvene tekućine u dizalu, usput kadrirajući Beth kao praiskonsku heroinu “Špilje užasa” (i pomahnitalog akcijskog “Ubrzanja”) jednom kad “pukne” i probudi u sebi ženu-ratnicu. Kassie i Beth od glave do pete su natopljene krvlju i krv takoreći postaje zaseban lik filma. “Evil Dead Rise” bi lako mogao od remakea preoteti titulu najkrvavijeg horora ikad.

‘Ja neću moći spavati‘

Freddy Kruger je dobio referenciju i u ovom filmu. Spominje se maraton svih filmova s Freddyjem, "čak i onih loših". Nove verzije starih horora su "in" ("Vrisak", "Noć vještica", "Hellraiser"...) pa nije čudno da je i "Zla smrt" došla na red i to prije "Istjerivača đavola", "Stvora" i "Petka 13.". Film je izvorno bio namijenjen za premijeru na HBO Maxu, ali je ipak pušten u svjetska kina gdje je samo u prvom vikendu zaradio 40-ak milijuna dolara na budžet od 15. P.S. "Evil Dead" nije za mlađe od 18 pa nije čudno da je jedna mlađa gledateljica na izlasku iz kina rekla "ja neću moći spavati".

Režeća motorka, “trade mark” franšize “Zla smrt”, preuzima funkciju tzv. Čehovljeve puške u najnovijem, petom dijelu serijala, podnaslovljenom “Buđenje” (“Evil Dead Rise”). Čehov je rekao “ako u prvom činu puška visi na zidu, ona do trećeg mora opaliti”.

Redatelj filma “Zla smrt: Buđenje” Lee Croninn pušku zamjenjuje motornom pilom. Doduše, motorka ne visi na zidu, ali indikativno je da u prvom činu filma u kadar upada kombi s oznakom “kirurgija drveća”, parkiran u podzemnoj garaži. Fanovima serijala prljava mašta je automatski proradila i, dakako, do trećeg čina motorna pila će zarežati i neće sjeći drveće.

Što je “Evil Dead” bez motorne pile? Ništa, gotovo kao i “Teksaški masakr motornom pilom”. Zna to i Croninn koji je...
