Nekolicinu odgoda doživio je film "Smrt na Nilu" s Kennethom Branaghom po drugi put u ulozi legendarnog detektiva Herculea Poirota. Nastavak "Ubojstva u Orient Expressu" trebao je krenuti u kina još 2020., da bi se premijera prolongirala najprije na proljeće i jesen 2021., a onda i polovicu veljače ove godine.

Odgode su bile koronske prirode, ali i zbog skandaloznih seksualnih optužbi na račun glumca Armieja Hammera koji igra Simona Doylea, jednog od najvažnijih likova. Gledajući "Death On The Nile" jasno je da redatelj Branagh nije mogao izvesti ono što je, npr., izveo Ridley Scott kad je scene s Kevinom Spaceyjem iz filma "Sav novac svijeta" ponovno nadosnimio s drugim glumcem, Christopherom Plummerom.

Hammer nije sporedna uloga i on u filmu frekventno dijeli kadar sa svim ostalim glumcima. Nemoguća je misija bila ponovno okupiti masivnu glumačku ekipu s redom poznatim licima, od zvjezdane Gal Gadot ("Wonder Woman", "Red Notice"), preko zvijezda u usponu Emme Mackey ("Sex Education", "Eiffel"), Laetitije Wright ("Black Panther") i Rose Leslie ("Game Of Thrones"), Russella Branda, Annette Bening, Sophie Okonedo...

Ionako veliki budžet filma od 120 milijuna dolara samo bi narastao u slučaju nadosnimavanja, tako da to nije bila opcija, već čekati da se prašina oko Hammera malo raščisti i da korona popusti. Čekanju je konačno došao kraj i "Smrt na Nilu" sad uplovljava u kina.

Uplovljava na manjem valu kontroverzi nego što bi uplovila prošle godine, iako bi nekima, u kontekstu optužbi, moglo biti čudno vidjeti vatreni ples nalik seksu između Simona i Jacqueline de Bellefort (Mackey) u londonskom noćnom klubu, gdje će biti predstavljen i u jednom trenu reći "to je bilo zločesto od mene", kao i njegovo seksualno konotativno očijukanje s Linnet Ridgeway (Gadot) prilikom posjeta egipatskom hramu.

Fanovima Agathe Christie moglo bi biti neobično vidjeti Poirota bez brkova, ali uvod u film je efektan. Transportirani smo u Belgiju 1914., u rovove Prvoga svjetskog rata. Branagh spretno kombinira crno-bijelu fotografiju "Staza slave" s ratnom akcijnošću "1917".

Sve da prikaže kako je digitalno pomlađeni Poirot pustio brkove te korijene njegove oštroumnosti i instinkta, uposlenih da spasi satniju ("Udari vjetra sad su idealni da maskiraju napad"...), nažalost ne i kapetana koji mu je rekao "Odviše ste oštroumni da biste bili farmer".

No, rat će ostaviti ožiljak na njegovu licu i u srcu. Ožiljak na licu će već nekako prekriti ("jednostavno, pustit ćeš brkove"), ali ne i onaj u srcu (izgubljena ljubav). Prilično dojmljivo, toliko da bismo poželjeli gledati dalje taj realistični crno-bijeli film koji je u krajnjem kontrastu s raskošnom, računalno renderiranom slikovnicom kad se radnja preseli u Egipat i "Death On The Nile" postane sporogoreći "whodunit" triler sa zločinom iz strasti.

Sunčani Egipat je, pak, u kontrastu sa snježnom scenografijom iz "Murder On The Orient Express", premda filmovi dijele neke sličnosti. Vlak je sad zamijenjen parobrodom koji vijuga rijekom, a Branagh također voli trošiti budžet da atraktivno vizualizira krstarenje uz pomoć stalnog direktora fotografije Harisa Zambaraloukosa, kao i sam egzotični Egipat s pripadajućim piramidama, hramovima itd., uspijevajući zamaskirati činjenicu da "Smrt na Nilu" nije snimljena na pravoj lokaciji.

Rezultat takvog pristupa je blockbusterska trilerska "grandezza", eskapistička zabava nalik kriminalističkom putopisu sa staromodno-modernim vizualnim i zvjezdanim sjajem, najbolje sjedinjenim u sceni Linnetina dolaska u klub u blistavoj večernjoj haljini koji izgleda kao iz fantazije nalik "Pepeljugi".

Film je ekvivalent pjenušcu kojeg, kako kaže "zlatna djevojka" Linnet, "imamo dovoljno da se napuni Nil", odnosno Branagh "Death On The Nile" snima gotovo kao da parobrod klizi rijekom šampanjca. Ipak, postoje i razlike između "Smrti na Nilu" i "Ubojstva u Orient Expressu".

Kad Jacqueline, ljubomorna što ju je zaručnik Simon ostavio zbog Linnet i prati mladence na medenom mjesecu, otkrije da ima pištoljčić, znamo da će taj pištoljčić opaliti, neovisno o tome što "praktički je igračka", ali to se događa negdje oko polovice, ne "čehovljevski" u zadnjoj trećini.

Nakon što se dogodi ubojstvo na parobrodu, Branagh je ovaj put fokusiraniji na svedeniji triler u interijerima, ne razvedeniji blockbuster u eksterijerima, pri čemu zalazi i u "interijere" likova, počevši od domišljatog Poirota i njegovih insinuacija. Slavni detektiv optužuje sve za ubojstvo i svi su mu sumnjivi.

"Ubojica je ovdje i ostat će ovdje", kaže Poirot u čijem se tijelu i umu Branagh ovaj put osjeća udobnije, kao i iza kamere, režirajući film prema njegovoj izjavi "imam oči koje vide, mozak koji misli" s donekle jednakim omjerom vizualnog spektakla i trilerske dedukcije. Ploveća krimi avantura "najvećeg živućeg detektiva" je blagi napredak u odnosu na prethodnu kao triler i film općenito. Imate dopuštenje za ukrcaj.

Gal Gadot kao Kleopatra

Tom Bateman ("Hladna osveta", Netflixova serija "Ne vjeruj svojim očima") ponovno glumi Poirotova prijatelja Bouca, a u sporednim ulogama nalaze se i Ali Fazal ("Victoria & Abdul"), te britanske komičarke Dawn French i Jennifer Saunders. "Smrt na Nilu" služi i kao svojevrsna najava nove verzije "Kleopatre" u kojoj bi glavnu ulogu trebala igrati upravo Gal Gadot. U jednoj sceni Gadot se pojavljuje odjevena kao Kleopatra i govori "U sebi imam besmrtne čežnje...".

Nekolicinu odgoda doživio je film "Smrt na Nilu" s Kennethom Branaghom po drugi put u ulozi legendarnog detektiva Herculea Poirota. Nastavak "Ubojstva u Orient Expressu" trebao je krenuti u kina još 2020., da bi se premijera prolongirala najprije na proljeće i jesen 2021., a onda i polovicu veljače ove godine.

Odgode su bile koronske prirode, ali i zbog skandaloznih seksualnih optužbi na račun glumca Armieja Hammera koji igra Simona Doylea, jednog od najvažnijih likova. Gledajući "Death On The Nile" jasno je da redatelj Branagh nije mogao izvesti ono što je, npr., izveo Ridley Scott kad je scene s Kevinom Spaceyjem iz filma "Sav novac svijeta" ponovno nadosnimio s drugim glumcem, Christopherom Plummerom.

Hammer nije sporedna uloga i on u filmu frekventno dijeli kadar sa svim ostalim glumcima. Nemoguća je misija bila ponovno okupiti masivnu glumačku ekipu s redom poznatim licima, od zvjezdane Gal Gadot ("Wonder Woman", "Red Notice"), preko zvijezda u usponu Emme Mackey ("Sex Education", "Eiffel"), Laetitije Wright ("Black Panther") i Rose Leslie ("Game Of Thrones"), Russella Branda, Annette Bening, Sophie Okonedo...

Ionako veliki budžet filma od 120 milijuna dolara samo bi narastao u slučaju nadosnimavanja, tako da to nije bila opcija, već čekati da se prašina oko Hammera malo raščisti i da korona popusti. Čekanju je konačno došao kraj i "Smrt na Nilu" sad uplovljava u kina.

Uplovljava na manjem valu kontroverzi nego što bi uplovila prošle godine, iako bi nekima, u kontekstu optužbi, moglo biti čudno vidjeti vatreni ples nalik seksu između Simona i Jacqueline de Bellefort (Mackey) u londonskom noćnom klubu, gdje će biti predstavljen i u jednom trenu reći "to je bilo zločesto od mene", kao i njegovo seksualno konotativno očijukanje s Linnet Ridgeway (Gadot) prilikom posjeta egipatskom hramu.

Fanovima Agathe Christie moglo bi biti neobično vidjeti Poirota bez brkova, ali uvod u film je efektan. Transportirani smo u Belgiju 1914., u rovove Prvoga svjetskog rata. Branagh spretno kombinira crno-bijelu fotografiju "Staza slave" s ratnom akcijnošću "1917".

Sve da prikaže kako je digitalno pomlađeni Poirot pustio brkove te korijene njegove oštroumnosti i instinkta, uposlenih da spasi satniju ("Udari vjetra sad su idealni da maskiraju napad"...), nažalost ne i kapetana koji mu je rekao "Odviše ste oštroumni da biste bili farmer".

No, rat će ostaviti ožiljak na njegovu licu i u srcu. Ožiljak na licu će već nekako prekriti ("jednostavno, pustit ćeš brkove"), ali ne i onaj u srcu (izgubljena ljubav). Prilično dojmljivo, toliko da bismo poželjeli gledati dalje taj realistični crno-bijeli film koji je u krajnjem kontrastu s raskošnom, računalno renderiranom slikovnicom kad se radnja preseli u Egipat i "Death On The Nile" postane sporogoreći "whodunit" triler sa zločinom iz strasti.

Sunčani Egipat je, pak, u kontrastu sa snježnom scenografijom iz "Murder On The Orient Express", premda filmovi dijele neke sličnosti. Vlak je sad zamijenjen parobrodom koji vijuga rijekom, a Branagh također voli trošiti budžet da atraktivno vizualizira krstarenje uz pomoć stalnog direktora fotografije Harisa Zambaraloukosa, kao i sam egzotični Egipat s pripadajućim piramidama, hramovima itd., uspijevajući zamaskirati činjenicu da "Smrt na Nilu" nije snimljena na pravoj lokaciji.

Rezultat takvog pristupa je blockbusterska trilerska "grandezza", eskapistička zabava nalik kriminalističkom putopisu sa staromodno-modernim vizualnim i zvjezdanim sjajem, najbolje sjedinjenim u sceni Linnetina dolaska u klub u blistavoj večernjoj haljini koji izgleda kao iz fantazije nalik "Pepeljugi".

Film je ekvivalent pjenušcu kojeg, kako kaže "zlatna djevojka" Linnet, "imamo dovoljno da se napuni Nil", odnosno Branagh "Death On The Nile" snima gotovo kao da parobrod klizi rijekom šampanjca. Ipak, postoje i razlike između "Smrti na Nilu" i "Ubojstva u Orient Expressu".

Kad Jacqueline, ljubomorna što ju je zaručnik Simon ostavio zbog Linnet i prati mladence na medenom mjesecu, otkrije da ima pištoljčić, znamo da će taj pištoljčić opaliti, neovisno o tome što "praktički je igračka", ali to se događa negdje oko polovice, ne "čehovljevski" u zadnjoj trećini.

Nakon što se dogodi ubojstvo na parobrodu, Branagh je ovaj put fokusiraniji na svedeniji triler u interijerima, ne razvedeniji blockbuster u eksterijerima, pri čemu zalazi i u "interijere" likova, počevši od domišljatog Poirota i njegovih insinuacija. Slavni detektiv optužuje sve za ubojstvo i svi su mu sumnjivi.

"Ubojica je ovdje i ostat će ovdje", kaže Poirot u čijem se tijelu i umu Branagh ovaj put osjeća udobnije, kao i iza kamere, režirajući film prema njegovoj izjavi "imam oči koje vide, mozak koji misli" s donekle jednakim omjerom vizualnog spektakla i trilerske dedukcije. Ploveća krimi avantura "najvećeg živućeg detektiva" je blagi napredak u odnosu na prethodnu kao triler i film općenito. Imate dopuštenje za ukrcaj.

Gal Gadot kao Kleopatra

Tom Bateman ("Hladna osveta", Netflixova serija "Ne vjeruj svojim očima") ponovno glumi Poirotova prijatelja Bouca, a u sporednim ulogama nalaze se i Ali Fazal ("Victoria & Abdul"), te britanske komičarke Dawn French i Jennifer Saunders. "Smrt na Nilu" služi i kao svojevrsna najava nove verzije "Kleopatre" u kojoj bi glavnu ulogu trebala igrati upravo Gal Gadot. U jednoj sceni Gadot se pojavljuje odjevena kao Kleopatra i govori "U sebi imam besmrtne čežnje...".

‘Smrt na Nilu‘: Imate dopuštenje za ukrcaj!

Nekolicinu odgoda doživio je film "Smrt na Nilu" s Kennethom Branaghom po drugi put u ulozi legendarnog detektiva Herculea Poirota. Nastavak "Ubojstva u Orient Expressu" trebao je krenuti u kina još 2020., da bi se premijera prolongirala najprije na proljeće i jesen 2021., a onda i polovicu veljače ove godine.

Odgode su bile koronske prirode, ali i zbog skandaloznih seksualnih optužbi na račun glumca Armieja Hammera koji igra Simona Doylea, jednog od najvažnijih likova. Gledajući "Death On The Nile" jasno je da redatelj Branagh nije mogao izvesti ono što je, npr., izveo Ridley Scott kad je scene s Kevinom Spaceyjem iz filma "Sav novac svijeta" ponovno nadosnimio s drugim glumcem, Christopherom Plummerom.

Hammer nije sporedna uloga i on u filmu frekventno dijeli kadar sa svim...
