Režija: David Lynch. Tako se, pomoću natpisa na običnom prozoru u neobični svijet, opisivala čudna prošla godina, kao da ju je režirao majstor uvrnutih filmova. Bio je to jedan od najpopularnijih filmsko-pandemijskih "memeova" koji se do jučer naveliko dijelio na društvenim mrežama.

(Od) sutra bi se možda mogao dijeliti "meme" s natpisom "directed by Amy Seimetz". Dugometražni drugijenac ove filmašice "Ona umire sutra" dijete je Lynchovih filmova "Mulholland Drive" i "Unutarnje carstvo", čak i "Melankolije" Larsa Von Triera.

Jasno, Seimetz ima još fore da postane kalibar Lyncha (i Von Triera), ali pokazala je da je na dobrom tragu u apstraktnom i eksperimentalnom filmu o osobnom i društvenom usudu koji je upravo stigao na hrvatskom "online" videotržište, premda je bio idealan za premijeru na STFF-u ili Subversiveu.

"She Dies Tomorrow" se ne stidi utjecaja spomenutih filmaša, kao i filma "It Follows", ali Seimetz pretvara inspiraciju u nešto svoje, pa i naše unutar egzistencijalne hororske drame umjetničko-festivalskog t(r)ipa. Ako za likove nije lako mariti zbog tipično pretenciozne studene festivalske/art režije čipirane od emocije, njihova situacija je poistovjetljiva u ovom trenutku budući da tipuje na kolektivno iskustvo zaraze i izolacije, proizvodeći nelagodu i tjeskobu.

Uvodna scena svakako grabi pozornost. Protagonistica suznih očiju i razmazane maskare, Amy (Kate Lyn Sheil), snimljena je u krupnom planu kako uznemireno zuri u nešto okupana stroboskopskim ljubičastim svjetlom "Neonskog demona". Čini se da Amy halucinira. Možda i jest, no bilo kako bilo ona je uvjerena da za nju više nema sutra. Jer, sutra će umrijeti.

Kad to kaže prijateljici Jane (Jane Adams), ova pomisli da bulazni zbog njezinih nekadašnjih (mentalnih) problema s alkoholom. "Pogledaj neki film", predlaže Jane kako bi odvratila misli. "Film traje samo sat i pol", kaže Amy u "meta" momentu, jer "Ona umire sutra" ima približnu minutažu, a i njezin lik se, ako niste išli za tim, zove jednako kao redateljica.

Košmarni kvazi-zaplet kreće od časa kad se u Jane uvuče sličan osjećaj egzistencijalne paranoje nakon što joj je Amy uvalila bubu u uho. Paranoična Jane je uvjerena da i ona umire sutra, što ispovijeda bratu Jasonu (Chris Messina) banuvši mu na vrata baš kad je, sa suprugom Susan (Katie Aselton), priredio domjenak za prijatelje (Tunde Adebimpe, Jennifer Kim).

Jason i Susan su uvjereni da ima živčani slom, međutim i na njih prelaze teške misli i slutnje da će im se nešto loše dogoditi, kao i na njihove goste. Svi će se oni, od Jane nadalje, zagledati u nešto pomilovani neonskim prelijevom neke boje i biti ovjekovječeni u krupnom planu kao Amy.

Što se točno zbiva, nije precizirano. Lako može biti i nešto nedefinirano nadnaravne prirode, s čime film, režiran logikom snomorice bez linearnog reda u naraciji, koketira u nadrealnim, onostranim prizorima neonskih i inih svjetala efektno naglašenih u fotografiji Jayja Keitela.

Primjerice, kad svjetla nadolazećeg "buggy" vozila djeluju poput krijesnice u daljini. No, zanimljivo je, u svjetlu recentnog koronsko-karantenskog trenutka, da se smrtno prokletstvo širi poput zaraze, što potenciraju kadrovi mikroorganizama u mikroskopu.

Smrt se prenosi s čovjeka na čovjeka i zaraženi joj ne mogu umaći, uvjereni da umiru sutra. Tako, meditativni film o smrtnosti, ispraznosti egzistencije, izolaciji i usamljenosti, na mahove i sam "artsy-fartsy" isprazan u eksperimentalnoj proizvoljnosti, postaje "nešto više" od odgovora na pitanje što bismo radili posljednja 24 sata života i ima li života nakon smrti.

"She Dies Tomorrow" je preslika stanja uma prosječnog tjeskobog čovjeka današnjice u kojem se reflektiraju kolektivno ludilo i masovna histerija kao mogući simptomi najveće zaraze modernog društva sutrašnjice. Sutra je novi dan?

Redateljica poznat(ij)a kao glumica

U maloj ulozi pojavljuje se i zvijezda "Fast&Furious" serijala Michelle Rodriguez, kao i redatelj Adam Wingard u čijem je hororu "You’re Next" glumila Seimetz koja je, inače, poznat(ij)a i kao glumica. Nedavno smo je gledali u "Tajnama koje čuvamo" s Noomi Rapace.

Režija: David Lynch. Tako se, pomoću natpisa na običnom prozoru u neobični svijet, opisivala čudna prošla godina, kao da ju je režirao majstor uvrnutih filmova. Bio je to jedan od najpopularnijih filmsko-pandemijskih "memeova" koji se do jučer naveliko dijelio na društvenim mrežama.

(Od) sutra bi se možda mogao dijeliti "meme" s natpisom "directed by Amy Seimetz". Dugometražni drugijenac ove filmašice "Ona umire sutra" dijete je Lynchovih filmova "Mulholland Drive" i "Unutarnje carstvo", čak i "Melankolije" Larsa Von Triera.

Jasno, Seimetz ima još fore da postane kalibar Lyncha (i Von Triera), ali pokazala je da je na dobrom tragu u apstraktnom i eksperimentalnom filmu o osobnom i društvenom usudu koji je upravo stigao na hrvatskom "online" videotržište, premda je bio idealan za premijeru na STFF-u ili Subversiveu.

"She Dies Tomorrow" se ne stidi utjecaja spomenutih filmaša, kao i filma "It Follows", ali Seimetz pretvara inspiraciju u nešto svoje, pa i naše unutar egzistencijalne hororske drame umjetničko-festivalskog t(r)ipa. Ako za likove nije lako mariti zbog tipično pretenciozne studene festivalske/art režije čipirane od emocije, njihova situacija je poistovjetljiva u ovom trenutku budući da tipuje na kolektivno iskustvo zaraze i izolacije, proizvodeći nelagodu i tjeskobu.

Uvodna scena svakako grabi pozornost. Protagonistica suznih očiju i razmazane maskare, Amy (Kate Lyn Sheil), snimljena je u krupnom planu kako uznemireno zuri u nešto okupana stroboskopskim ljubičastim svjetlom "Neonskog demona". Čini se da Amy halucinira. Možda i jest, no bilo kako bilo ona je uvjerena da za nju više nema sutra. Jer, sutra će umrijeti.

Kad to kaže prijateljici Jane (Jane Adams), ova pomisli da bulazni zbog njezinih nekadašnjih (mentalnih) problema s alkoholom. "Pogledaj neki film", predlaže Jane kako bi odvratila misli. "Film traje samo sat i pol", kaže Amy u "meta" momentu, jer "Ona umire sutra" ima približnu minutažu, a i njezin lik se, ako niste išli za tim, zove jednako kao redateljica.

Košmarni kvazi-zaplet kreće od časa kad se u Jane uvuče sličan osjećaj egzistencijalne paranoje nakon što joj je Amy uvalila bubu u uho. Paranoična Jane je uvjerena da i ona umire sutra, što ispovijeda bratu Jasonu (Chris Messina) banuvši mu na vrata baš kad je, sa suprugom Susan (Katie Aselton), priredio domjenak za prijatelje (Tunde Adebimpe, Jennifer Kim).

Jason i Susan su uvjereni da ima živčani slom, međutim i na njih prelaze teške misli i slutnje da će im se nešto loše dogoditi, kao i na njihove goste. Svi će se oni, od Jane nadalje, zagledati u nešto pomilovani neonskim prelijevom neke boje i biti ovjekovječeni u krupnom planu kao Amy.

Što se točno zbiva, nije precizirano. Lako može biti i nešto nedefinirano nadnaravne prirode, s čime film, režiran logikom snomorice bez linearnog reda u naraciji, koketira u nadrealnim, onostranim prizorima neonskih i inih svjetala efektno naglašenih u fotografiji Jayja Keitela.

Primjerice, kad svjetla nadolazećeg "buggy" vozila djeluju poput krijesnice u daljini. No, zanimljivo je, u svjetlu recentnog koronsko-karantenskog trenutka, da se smrtno prokletstvo širi poput zaraze, što potenciraju kadrovi mikroorganizama u mikroskopu.

Smrt se prenosi s čovjeka na čovjeka i zaraženi joj ne mogu umaći, uvjereni da umiru sutra. Tako, meditativni film o smrtnosti, ispraznosti egzistencije, izolaciji i usamljenosti, na mahove i sam "artsy-fartsy" isprazan u eksperimentalnoj proizvoljnosti, postaje "nešto više" od odgovora na pitanje što bismo radili posljednja 24 sata života i ima li života nakon smrti.

"She Dies Tomorrow" je preslika stanja uma prosječnog tjeskobog čovjeka današnjice u kojem se reflektiraju kolektivno ludilo i masovna histerija kao mogući simptomi najveće zaraze modernog društva sutrašnjice. Sutra je novi dan?

U maloj ulozi pojavljuje se i zvijezda "Fast&Furious" serijala Michelle Rodriguez, kao i redatelj Adam Wingard u čijem je hororu "You’re Next" glumila Seimetz koja je, inače, poznat(ij)a i kao glumica. Nedavno smo je gledali u "Tajnama koje čuvamo" s Noomi Rapace.
