"Zlo je pobijedilo i Božić je otkazan!" – "Ništa od Božića ove godine" (2021.)

Mora da ste posljednjih tjedana na Fejsu naletjeli na "meme" zezanciju na račun (preuranjenog) božićnog slavlja s pripadajućim hit-pjesmama tipa "All I Want For Christmas Is You". Kroz rupu u vratima razvaljenim sjekirom a la "Isijavanje" proviruje Mariah Carey s mikrofonom, izazivajući jednak strah i trepet kao Jack Nicholson u Kubrickovom hororu "The Shining" koji je poslužio kao inspiracija za "meme" sprdnju.

Ova slika se stvorila pred očima potpisnika ovih redaka dok je gledao prigodnu božićnu (romantičnu) komediju "Christmas Is Cancelled". Možda i ne bi da pjesma koja otvara film "Ništa od Božića ove godine" ne zvuči poput kopije Mariahina hita "All I Want For Christmas Is You" i da glavni ženski lik filma ne spomene Kubrickov klasik.

"Bit ćemo zarobljeni u kući moga oca kao u 'Isijavanju'...", kaže mlada Emma Lockhart (Hayley Orrantia) čiji otac (Dermot Mulroney), ne toliko dugo nakon smrti supruge/njezine majke, želi provesti božićno-novogodišnje blagdane s njom i njegovom novom, dvostruko mlađom djevojkom Brandy (Janel Parrish). Ne bi to možda bio toliki problem da Brandy, za ne faliti, nije bila Emmina najveća suparnica u srednjoj školi nakon što su se razišle kao prijateljice.

Uvodna pjesma zvuči kao teška kopija, ali prvi kadrovi filma s crvenim automobilom kako vozi kroz bijeli snijeg dok pahulje lelujaju prilično su "catchy", kao da je vozilo iste boje iz "Ministarstva ljubavi" Pave Marinkovića preseljeno iz dalmatinskog ljeta u američku zimu.

U tom kratkom trenu "Christmas Is Cancelled" djeluje kao obećavajući blagdanski film, ali obećanje se pokazuje kao ludim božićnim zvonima radovanje kad u kadar zakorači Emma sa svojom najboljom prijateljicom Charlyne (Emilie Modaff).

Glumica Orrantia izgleda kao "kopija" zvijezda romantičnih filmova poput Dakote Johnson ("Pedeset nijansi sive", "Kako biti solo") i Ginnifer Goodwin ("Njemu baš i nije stalo", "Nešto posuđeno"), pa i Ellen Page ("Juno", "Rimu s ljubavlju"). A Charlyne je krajnje tipičan lik (gay) prijateljice u rom-comovima.

"Christmas Is Cancelled" je preslik njih dvije: tipična fotokopija romantične komedije božićnog štiha, film koji žarko želi biti "Love Actually", a nije ni "Last Christmas". Naravno, nije to negledljivo, posebice za jednokratnu blagdansku uporabu, samo odveć formulaično, posebice kad Emma počne ostvarivati volim/mrzim romansu s Brandyjnim srednjoškolskim dečkom, barmenom Joshom (Michael Naizu), inače njezinom starom neostvarenom simpatijom.

Emma nije nimalo simpatičan lik i gledatelju je svejedno hoće li pronaći sreću s Joshom ili ne. Štoviše, Brandy ispada simpatičnija, neovisno o tome što je isprve prikazana kao negativka, "silovateljica udovaca", jer ako tko "rastura obitelj" to nije ona nego Emma.

"Prestani mi silovati oca", drekne Emma vidjevši Brandy kako se ljubi s njezinim tatom. Motivacija protagonistice da rastavi prema svemu sudeći sretan par, unatoč razlikama u godina, granično je "creepy" i sugerira da kćerka, koja bi tako postala njegov jedini član obitelji, ima neke "daddy's issues".

A opet, malo je i čudno da otac hoda s kćerkinom bivšom prijateljicom koja je, k tome, poznavala njezinu majku/njegovu suprugu i imala dobar odnos s njom. Sve bi manje smetalo da su likovi dopadljivi i da film ima šarma, ali nisu/nema. Zlo je doista pobijedilo i Božić je otkazan.

Moj Dermot se ženi

Dermot Mulroney je iskusan kad su u pitanju romantične komedije. Glumio je u jednoj od najboljih, "Moj dečko se ženi", s kraljicom žanra Julijom Roberts.

"Zlo je pobijedilo i Božić je otkazan!" – "Ništa od Božića ove godine" (2021.)

Mora da ste posljednjih tjedana na Fejsu naletjeli na "meme" zezanciju na račun (preuranjenog) božićnog slavlja s pripadajućim hit-pjesmama tipa "All I Want For Christmas Is You". Kroz rupu u vratima razvaljenim sjekirom a la "Isijavanje" proviruje Mariah Carey s mikrofonom, izazivajući jednak strah i trepet kao Jack Nicholson u Kubrickovom hororu "The Shining" koji je poslužio kao inspiracija za "meme" sprdnju.

Ova slika se stvorila pred očima potpisnika ovih redaka dok je gledao prigodnu božićnu (romantičnu) komediju "Christmas Is Cancelled". Možda i ne bi da pjesma koja otvara film "Ništa od Božića ove godine" ne zvuči poput kopije Mariahina hita "All I Want For Christmas Is You" i da glavni ženski lik filma ne spomene Kubrickov klasik.

"Bit ćemo zarobljeni u kući moga oca kao u 'Isijavanju'...", kaže mlada Emma Lockhart (Hayley Orrantia) čiji otac (Dermot Mulroney), ne toliko dugo nakon smrti supruge/njezine majke, želi provesti božićno-novogodišnje blagdane s njom i njegovom novom, dvostruko mlađom djevojkom Brandy (Janel Parrish). Ne bi to možda bio toliki problem da Brandy, za ne faliti, nije bila Emmina najveća suparnica u srednjoj školi nakon što su se razišle kao prijateljice.

Uvodna pjesma zvuči kao teška kopija, ali prvi kadrovi filma s crvenim automobilom kako vozi kroz bijeli snijeg dok pahulje lelujaju prilično su "catchy", kao da je vozilo iste boje iz "Ministarstva ljubavi" Pave Marinkovića preseljeno iz dalmatinskog ljeta u američku zimu.

U tom kratkom trenu "Christmas Is Cancelled" djeluje kao obećavajući blagdanski film, ali obećanje se pokazuje kao ludim božićnim zvonima radovanje kad u kadar zakorači Emma sa svojom najboljom prijateljicom Charlyne (Emilie Modaff).

Glumica Orrantia izgleda kao "kopija" zvijezda romantičnih filmova poput Dakote Johnson ("Pedeset nijansi sive", "Kako biti solo") i Ginnifer Goodwin ("Njemu baš i nije stalo", "Nešto posuđeno"), pa i Ellen Page ("Juno", "Rimu s ljubavlju"). A Charlyne je krajnje tipičan lik (gay) prijateljice u rom-comovima.

"Christmas Is Cancelled" je preslik njih dvije: tipična fotokopija romantične komedije božićnog štiha, film koji žarko želi biti "Love Actually", a nije ni "Last Christmas". Naravno, nije to negledljivo, posebice za jednokratnu blagdansku uporabu, samo odveć formulaično, posebice kad Emma počne ostvarivati volim/mrzim romansu s Brandyjnim srednjoškolskim dečkom, barmenom Joshom (Michael Naizu), inače njezinom starom neostvarenom simpatijom.

Emma nije nimalo simpatičan lik i gledatelju je svejedno hoće li pronaći sreću s Joshom ili ne. Štoviše, Brandy ispada simpatičnija, neovisno o tome što je isprve prikazana kao negativka, "silovateljica udovaca", jer ako tko "rastura obitelj" to nije ona nego Emma.

"Prestani mi silovati oca", drekne Emma vidjevši Brandy kako se ljubi s njezinim tatom. Motivacija protagonistice da rastavi prema svemu sudeći sretan par, unatoč razlikama u godina, granično je "creepy" i sugerira da kćerka, koja bi tako postala njegov jedini član obitelji, ima neke "daddy's issues".

A opet, malo je i čudno da otac hoda s kćerkinom bivšom prijateljicom koja je, k tome, poznavala njezinu majku/njegovu suprugu i imala dobar odnos s njom. Sve bi manje smetalo da su likovi dopadljivi i da film ima šarma, ali nisu/nema. Zlo je doista pobijedilo i Božić je otkazan.

Moj Dermot se ženi

Dermot Mulroney je iskusan kad su u pitanju romantične komedije. Glumio je u jednoj od najboljih, "Moj dečko se ženi", s kraljicom žanra Julijom Roberts.
