"Vaš sin ima Downov sindrom", jedna je od prvih rečenica izgovorena u talijanskom filmu "Moj brat lovi dinosaure" ("Mio Fratello Rincorre I Dinosauri"/"My Brother Chases Dinosaurs") debitanskog redatelja Stefana Cipanija, snimljenom prema istoimenom autobiografskom bestseleru Giacoma Mazzariola i premijerno prikazanom u sklopu Venecijanskog festivala.

Rečenicu izgovara liječnica, obaviještavajući mamu Katiu i njezinog supruga Davidea (Isabella Ragonese, Alessandro Gassmann) koji su nestrpljivo čekali da im donesu dijete nakon poroda. "Mogli ste pobaciti, kao što to većina učini", nadoda doktorica bez pardona.

Ipak, za snažne roditelje poput Katije i Davidea takvo što nije dolazilo u obzir. Davidovo zabrinuto lice Katia razvuče u osmjeh netom prije nego što njihova mala familija, dvije kćerkice i sinčić, dođe vidjeti prinovu u obitelji, bracu koji ima kromosom viška. "Je li on s drugog planeta", pita Jack (Luca Morello) za malog brata. Nije, ali je poseban.

Tu posebnost Jack je krivo shvatio, uvjeren da njegov mlađi braco, Gio (Antonio Uras), ima supermoći, kao superjunak – "Super Down". Kako Jack raste, on shvaća da Gio nije ono što je mislio da jest i počinje se sramiti brata, a njegovo nepredvidljivo ponašanje ga opterećuje i predstavlja mu sve veći teret.

Toliko da će kao tinejdžer (glumi ga Francesco Gheghi; izgleda kao spoj Slavka Štimca, Timotheeja Chalameta i Daniela Brühla) lagati i zanijekati postojanje Gia (sada Lorenzo Sisto) pred vršnjacima u prvom razredu srednje škole i djevojkom Ariannom (Arianna Becheroni) u koju se zaljubio do ušiju, sve u strahu od toga što će drugi misliti/reći.

"Moj brat lovi dinosaure" od prve do posljednje scene vozi slalom između komično-dramskog obiteljskog filma, tj. filma za djecu i tinejdžere, a nominalno je humorna drama o odrastanju. Nije svaki podžanr adekvatno prezentiran u Cipanijevu prvijencu koji zna patiti od disbalansa, neujednačenosti cjeline.

Najviše je žanrovski zastupljen "teen movie", ali tu Jack dobiva veliku prednost nad Giom i priča gotovo u potpunosti postaje njegova – starijeg brata klinca s Downovim sindromom, umjesto obratno, kako je sugerirao naslov filma.

Subjektivnija perspektiva senzitivnoj, delikatnoj temi, kao u dokumentarcu "Zašto skačem", bila bi podesnija i nesvakidašnjija, dakle da zbivanja promatramo očima Gia i pratimo njegovo odrastanje iz njegove perrspektive, sa svim izazovima s kojima se susreće on sam i njegovi bližnji, a ne da je to prikazano iz druge ruke, preko Jacka.

K tome, Jackova priča podosta nalikuje na mnoge već viđene u brojnim tinejdžerskim filmovima: on želi biti popularan u školi i osvojiti curu koju voli, pristupa bendu, mijenja imidž uz pomoć otkačene tete (Rossy De Palma, kućna glumica španjolskog režisera Pedra Almodovara) itd.

Gia film (o)stavlja po strani, kao da ne postoji, kad Jack zaniječe njegovo postojanje. No, čini se da redatelj to radi kako bi Jack bolje razumio brata gledajući ga "sa strane", naučio se nositi s njegovom "drukčijnošću" i uvidio koliko mu nedostaje, kao i to da usvoji njegov ekstraordinarni pogled na svijet (ne mora se uvijek svirati točno po notama) i važnu lekciju za romansu s Ariannom, sagrađenu na tankim temeljima laži, ali i život općenito.

Ako ne možeš voljeti nekoga unatoč njegovim nesavršenstvima i "manama", kako onda očekuješ da tebe netko (za)voli takvog kakav jesi, jedako nesavršenog. Jack će do odjavne špice i iza nje izrasti u bolju osobu, a sličan učinak bi film mogao imati i na gledatelja, kako je uostalom i najavila glumica De Palma na venecijanskoj premijeri.

"Ovo je jedan od onih filmova nakon kojih, kad ih pogledate, izađete iz kina kao bolja osoba", rekla je De Palma tom prilikom. Doista je teško poreći dobre namjere i plemenitost nerijetko dirljivog filma koji se, što je najvažnije, uspio zavući u srca ciljane (mlade) publike. "My Brother Chases Dinosaurs" je ove godine osvojio prvu ikad dodijeljenu nagradu Europske filmske akademije – mladenačku Young Audience Award, osvojivši najviše glasova od glasača u dobi između 12 i 14 godina.

Autor romana kao koscenarist filma

Stefano Cipani je prije ovog filma režirao glazbene spotove i snimio par "kratkiša". Na scenariju je, uz Fabija Bonifaccija, radio i autor romana Giacomo Mazzariol.

"Vaš sin ima Downov sindrom", jedna je od prvih rečenica izgovorena u talijanskom filmu "Moj brat lovi dinosaure" ("Mio Fratello Rincorre I Dinosauri"/"My Brother Chases Dinosaurs") debitanskog redatelja Stefana Cipanija, snimljenom prema istoimenom autobiografskom bestseleru Giacoma Mazzariola i premijerno prikazanom u sklopu Venecijanskog festivala.

Rečenicu izgovara liječnica, obaviještavajući mamu Katiu i njezinog supruga Davidea (Isabella Ragonese, Alessandro Gassmann) koji su nestrpljivo čekali da im donesu dijete nakon poroda. "Mogli ste pobaciti, kao što to većina učini", nadoda doktorica bez pardona.

Ipak, za snažne roditelje poput Katije i Davidea takvo što nije dolazilo u obzir. Davidovo zabrinuto lice Katia razvuče u osmjeh netom prije nego što njihova mala familija, dvije kćerkice i sinčić, dođe vidjeti prinovu u obitelji, bracu koji ima kromosom viška. "Je li on s drugog planeta", pita Jack (Luca Morello) za malog brata. Nije, ali je poseban.

Tu posebnost Jack je krivo shvatio, uvjeren da njegov mlađi braco, Gio (Antonio Uras), ima supermoći, kao superjunak – "Super Down". Kako Jack raste, on shvaća da Gio nije ono što je mislio da jest i počinje se sramiti brata, a njegovo nepredvidljivo ponašanje ga opterećuje i predstavlja mu sve veći teret.

Toliko da će kao tinejdžer (glumi ga Francesco Gheghi; izgleda kao spoj Slavka Štimca, Timotheeja Chalameta i Daniela Brühla) lagati i zanijekati postojanje Gia (sada Lorenzo Sisto) pred vršnjacima u prvom razredu srednje škole i djevojkom Ariannom (Arianna Becheroni) u koju se zaljubio do ušiju, sve u strahu od toga što će drugi misliti/reći.

"Moj brat lovi dinosaure" od prve do posljednje scene vozi slalom između komično-dramskog obiteljskog filma, tj. filma za djecu i tinejdžere, a nominalno je humorna drama o odrastanju. Nije svaki podžanr adekvatno prezentiran u Cipanijevu prvijencu koji zna patiti od disbalansa, neujednačenosti cjeline.

Najviše je žanrovski zastupljen "teen movie", ali tu Jack dobiva veliku prednost nad Giom i priča gotovo u potpunosti postaje njegova – starijeg brata klinca s Downovim sindromom, umjesto obratno, kako je sugerirao naslov filma.

Subjektivnija perspektiva senzitivnoj, delikatnoj temi, kao u dokumentarcu "Zašto skačem", bila bi podesnija i nesvakidašnjija, dakle da zbivanja promatramo očima Gia i pratimo njegovo odrastanje iz njegove perrspektive, sa svim izazovima s kojima se susreće on sam i njegovi bližnji, a ne da je to prikazano iz druge ruke, preko Jacka.

K tome, Jackova priča podosta nalikuje na mnoge već viđene u brojnim tinejdžerskim filmovima: on želi biti popularan u školi i osvojiti curu koju voli, pristupa bendu, mijenja imidž uz pomoć otkačene tete (Rossy De Palma, kućna glumica španjolskog režisera Pedra Almodovara) itd.

Gia film (o)stavlja po strani, kao da ne postoji, kad Jack zaniječe njegovo postojanje. No, čini se da redatelj to radi kako bi Jack bolje razumio brata gledajući ga "sa strane", naučio se nositi s njegovom "drukčijnošću" i uvidio koliko mu nedostaje, kao i to da usvoji njegov ekstraordinarni pogled na svijet (ne mora se uvijek svirati točno po notama) i važnu lekciju za romansu s Ariannom, sagrađenu na tankim temeljima laži, ali i život općenito.

Ako ne možeš voljeti nekoga unatoč njegovim nesavršenstvima i "manama", kako onda očekuješ da tebe netko (za)voli takvog kakav jesi, jedako nesavršenog. Jack će do odjavne špice i iza nje izrasti u bolju osobu, a sličan učinak bi film mogao imati i na gledatelja, kako je uostalom i najavila glumica De Palma na venecijanskoj premijeri.

"Ovo je jedan od onih filmova nakon kojih, kad ih pogledate, izađete iz kina kao bolja osoba", rekla je De Palma tom prilikom. Doista je teško poreći dobre namjere i plemenitost nerijetko dirljivog filma koji se, što je najvažnije, uspio zavući u srca ciljane (mlade) publike. "My Brother Chases Dinosaurs" je ove godine osvojio prvu ikad dodijeljenu nagradu Europske filmske akademije – mladenačku Young Audience Award, osvojivši najviše glasova od glasača u dobi između 12 i 14 godina.

Stefano Cipani je prije ovog filma režirao glazbene spotove i snimio par "kratkiša". Na scenariju je, uz Fabija Bonifaccija, radio i autor romana Giacomo Mazzariol.
