Nedostatak vode izvan naseljenih područja jedan je od većih problema u razvoju poljoprivrednih kultura na otoku Šolti. Obnova i uređenje prirodnih akumulacija vode koje postoje na otoku te sustav navodnjavanja kako bi se postojeći resursi optimalno iskoristili i prilagođavanje navodnjavanja konkretnim kulturama koje sustav opslužuje omogućilo bi bolje uvjete za uzgoj raznih kultura na poljoprivrednim površinama otoka, od kojih su mnoge zapuštene upravo zbog nedostatka tekuće vode.

Na otoku postoji oko 20-ak akumulacijskih spremnika za vodu, neki su prirodne akumulacije, a većinu su izgradili otočni težaci u prošla dva stoljeća ili više. Dio akumulacija je zatvoren, kao veliki rezervoari nekad pitke vode, a dio su akumulacije otvorenog tipa. Rasprostranjene su po cijelom otoku i uglavnom se nalaze u blizini poljoprivrednih površina. Cilj je, tvrde u općini Šolta, koristiti takvu vodu za potrebe poljoprivrede.

Nadalje, predlažu i povezivanje barem dijela akumulacija s određenim točkama u sklopu otočnog vodovoda radi akumuliranja vode koju se inače ispušta u more. Redovito je to godišnje ispuštanje vode iz cijevi zbog sanitarnih razloga u uvjetima niske potrošnje u pojedinim granama vodovodne mreže.

- Time bi se velike količine vode umjesto u more usmjeravalo u ove akumulacije i voda bi završila kao iskorišten resurs umjesto kao odbačen resurs.

Cijeli ovaj projekt omogućit će stanovništvu otoka Šolte bolje i kompetitivnije uvjete za bavljenje poljoprivredom, bilo kao privatni korisnici, mala obiteljska gospodarstva ili u veće komercijalne svrhe. To će nedvojbeno dovesti do poboljšanja uvjeta života na otoku smanjenjem troškova proizvodnje ili povećanom i raznovrsnijom proizvodnjom hrane. Osim toga, uvođenje modernih tehnologija u poljoprivrednu proizvodnju otvara mogućnost i daljnjeg napretka u poljoprivredi te je preduvjet za stvaranje regionalnog centra kompetencija za otočnu poljoprivredu. Mogućnost znanstvenog pristupa i rad na vlastitom otoku sigurno će biti razlog određenom broju mladih otočana da svoju budućnost vide na svom otoku, uz profesionalnu i izazovnu karijeru - kazao nam je Željko Zlendić, tehnički direktor otočnog komunalnog poduzeća.

Iz tog razloga općina Šolta u ovoj godini počinje s projektom sufinanciranja izgradnje ili nabave spremnika za vodu od maksimalno 27m³ koje će koristiti naši poljoprivrednici kao neophodnu infrastrukturu u poljima, a u tijeku je i izrada pravilnika o načinu financiranja navedenog. Nakon toga raspisuje se i natječaj za navedenu mjeru. Sufinancirat će se i transport vode cisternama za punjenje spremnika.

Općina je financirala i istraživanje bušotina pitke vode pa će se probno nakon provedenog natječaja na području Šešule - Maslinica početi s bušenjem nadajući se vodi koja bi se koristila za potrebe prvenstveno poljoprivrede.

Također, kroz programe financiranja u poljoprivredi predviđa se i financiranje bio-jama iz kojih bi se koristila tehnička voda za potrebe navodnjavanja, kao i financiranje sustava navodnjavanja.

Sve su to preduvjeti koji se trebaju što skorije realizirati jer Šolta je u zadnjih nekoliko godina postala zelena oaza, odnosno područje sa sve većim brojem stabala masline i vinove loze. Nedostatak vode zakočio je daljnju sadnju pa bi ovakvi projekti, nadaju se u općini, potaknuli daljnji razvoj poljoprivrede na otoku.

Nedostatak vode izvan naseljenih područja jedan je od većih problema u razvoju poljoprivrednih kultura na otoku Šolti. Obnova i uređenje prirodnih akumulacija vode koje postoje na otoku te sustav navodnjavanja kako bi se postojeći resursi optimalno iskoristili i prilagođavanje navodnjavanja konkretnim kulturama koje sustav opslužuje omogućilo bi bolje uvjete za uzgoj raznih kultura na poljoprivrednim površinama otoka, od kojih su mnoge zapuštene upravo zbog nedostatka tekuće vode.

Na otoku postoji oko 20-ak akumulacijskih spremnika za vodu, neki su prirodne akumulacije, a većinu su izgradili otočni težaci u prošla dva stoljeća ili više. Dio akumulacija je zatvoren, kao veliki rezervoari nekad pitke vode, a dio su akumulacije otvorenog tipa. Rasprostranjene su po cijelom otoku i uglavnom se nalaze u blizini poljoprivrednih površina. Cilj je, tvrde u općini Šolta, koristiti takvu vodu za potrebe poljoprivrede.

Nadalje, predlažu i povezivanje barem dijela akumulacija s određenim točkama u sklopu otočnog vodovoda radi akumuliranja vode koju se inače ispušta u more. Redovito je to godišnje ispuštanje vode iz cijevi zbog sanitarnih razloga u uvjetima niske potrošnje u pojedinim granama vodovodne mreže.

- Time bi se velike količine vode umjesto u more usmjeravalo u ove akumulacije i voda bi završila kao iskorišten resurs umjesto kao odbačen resurs.

Cijeli ovaj projekt omogućit će stanovništvu otoka Šolte bolje i kompetitivnije uvjete za bavljenje poljoprivredom, bilo kao privatni korisnici, mala obiteljska gospodarstva ili u veće komercijalne svrhe. To će nedvojbeno dovesti do poboljšanja uvjeta života na otoku smanjenjem troškova proizvodnje ili povećanom i raznovrsnijom proizvodnjom hrane. Osim toga, uvođenje modernih tehnologija u poljoprivrednu proizvodnju otvara mogućnost i daljnjeg napretka u poljoprivredi te je preduvjet za stvaranje regionalnog centra kompetencija za otočnu poljoprivredu. Mogućnost znanstvenog pristupa i rad na vlastitom otoku sigurno će biti razlog određenom broju mladih otočana da svoju budućnost vide na svom otoku, uz profesionalnu i izazovnu karijeru - kazao nam je Željko Zlendić, tehnički direktor otočnog komunalnog poduzeća.

Iz tog razloga općina Šolta u ovoj godini počinje s projektom sufinanciranja izgradnje ili nabave spremnika za vodu od maksimalno 27m³ koje će koristiti naši poljoprivrednici kao neophodnu infrastrukturu u poljima, a u tijeku je i izrada pravilnika o načinu financiranja navedenog. Nakon toga raspisuje se i natječaj za navedenu mjeru. Sufinancirat će se i transport vode cisternama za punjenje spremnika.

Općina je financirala i istraživanje bušotina pitke vode pa će se probno nakon provedenog natječaja na području Šešule - Maslinica početi s bušenjem nadajući se vodi koja bi se koristila za potrebe prvenstveno poljoprivrede.

Također, kroz programe financiranja u poljoprivredi predviđa se i financiranje bio-jama iz kojih bi se koristila tehnička voda za potrebe navodnjavanja, kao i financiranje sustava navodnjavanja.

Sve su to preduvjeti koji se trebaju što skorije realizirati jer Šolta je u zadnjih nekoliko godina postala zelena oaza, odnosno područje sa sve većim brojem stabala masline i vinove loze. Nedostatak vode zakočio je daljnju sadnju pa bi ovakvi projekti, nadaju se u općini, potaknuli daljnji razvoj poljoprivrede na otoku.
