Brod "Istranka", nekoć carska jahta Austro-Ugarske monarhije i službeno zaštićeni spomenik kulture Republike Hrvatske, na čijoj se palubi na kojem se doslovno pisala svjetska povijest, mogao bi postati vlasništvo Udruge lađara Neretve.
Jedini "preživjeli" brod nekadašnje dvojne monarhije nalazi se uz obalu novog ribarskog pristaništa na kaštelanskim Brižinama, na lokaciji nekadašnjeg "Brodospasova" rezališta i neposredno uz granicu s Gradom Solinom. Do 1991. godine bila je jedan od višedesetljetnih simbola splitske Rive, uz koju je bila prvezana kao brod-restoran tadašnjeg ugostiteljskog poduzeća "Union Dalmacija".

- Nakon višemjesečnih pregovora s menadžmentom tvrtke koja je bila vlasnik broda, delegacija naše udruge predvođena predsjednikom Lukom Oršulićem i Antom Šprljom je nakon iscrpnog izlaganja u Italiji, ukazivanja na važnost broda koji je pod zaštitom hrvatskog Ministarstva kulture, uspjela uvjeriti inozemne poduzetnike da brod prodaju našoj udruzi.
Nakon što smo iz vojnog arhiva u Beču dobili dokumentaciju o izgradnji broda, naša ideja je da "Istranku" izvadimo iz mora i restauriramo u stanje u kakvom je bila 1896. godine. Nakon restauracije postala bi zapovjednim brodom na Maratonu lađa te ujedno brod-muzej koji bi imao stalni vez u Metkoviću.
Sada je pred nama druga faza, a to je pronalaženje novca za rekonstrukciju te kada se brod obnovi, to će biti njegov drugi povratak u Metković ujedno i posljednji, gdje će za stalno ostati - navode iz Udruge lađara Neretve u svojoj objavi na Facebooku.
Današnja "Istranka" je, kao privatna jahta carske obitelji Habsburg, za nadvojvodu Karla Stjepana Habsburga izgrađena 1896. godine u brodogradilištu San Rocco u Trstu, pod imenom "Ossero" (talijanski naziv za Osor na Cresu, op.a.). Elegantnog je metalnog trupa, dužine 43,77 metara, širine 5,85 i visine 3,22 metra, a pogonili su je parni stroj i dva bermudska jedra na pramčanom i krmenom jarbolu.

Postizala je najveću brzinu od 11 čvorova, maksimalan doplov bio joj je 100 nautičkih milja, te je imala do 12 članova posade. Austrijska mornarica ju je preuzela 1899. godine.
Pod imenom "Dalmat" je u srpnju 1914. godine prevozila posmrtne kovčege u Sarajevu ubijenoga austrougarskog prijestolonasljedničkog para, nadvojvode Franje Ferdinanda i njegove supruge Sofije. Njihovi posmrtni ostaci prevezeni su na jahti od Metkovića do ušća Neretve, gdje ih je preuzeo ratni brod "Viribus Unitis".
Već tada su njezine fotografije obišle svijet. "Istranka" ima više nego zanimljivu prošlost, jer je bio u vlasništvu mornarice četiriju država, dok je jedno vrijeme bio i zapovjedni brod.

Brod "Istranka", nekoć carska jahta Austro-Ugarske monarhije i službeno zaštićeni spomenik kulture Republike Hrvatske, na čijoj se palubi na kojem se doslovno pisala svjetska povijest, mogao bi postati vlasništvo Udruge lađara Neretve.
Jedini "preživjeli" brod nekadašnje dvojne monarhije nalazi se uz obalu novog ribarskog pristaništa na kaštelanskim Brižinama, na lokaciji nekadašnjeg "Brodospasova" rezališta i neposredno uz granicu s Gradom Solinom. Do 1991. godine bila je jedan od višedesetljetnih simbola splitske Rive, uz koju je bila prvezana kao brod-restoran tadašnjeg ugostiteljskog poduzeća "Union Dalmacija".

- Nakon višemjesečnih pregovora s menadžmentom tvrtke koja je bila vlasnik broda, delegacija naše udruge predvođena predsjednikom Lukom Oršulićem i Antom Šprljom je nakon iscrpnog izlaganja u Italiji, ukazivanja na važnost broda koji je pod zaštitom hrvatskog Ministarstva kulture, uspjela uvjeriti inozemne poduzetnike da brod prodaju našoj udruzi.
Nakon što smo iz vojnog arhiva u Beču dobili dokumentaciju o izgradnji broda, naša ideja je da "Istranku" izvadimo iz mora i restauriramo u stanje u kakvom je bila 1896. godine. Nakon restauracije postala bi zapovjednim brodom na Maratonu lađa te ujedno brod-muzej koji bi imao stalni vez u Metkoviću.
Sada je pred nama druga faza, a to je pronalaženje novca za rekonstrukciju te kada se brod obnovi, to će biti njegov drugi povratak u Metković ujedno i posljednji, gdje će za stalno ostati - navode iz Udruge lađara Neretve u svojoj objavi na Facebooku.
Današnja "Istranka" je, kao privatna jahta carske obitelji Habsburg, za nadvojvodu Karla Stjepana Habsburga izgrađena 1896. godine u brodogradilištu San Rocco u Trstu, pod imenom "Ossero" (talijanski naziv za Osor na Cresu, op.a.). Elegantnog je metalnog trupa, dužine 43,77 metara, širine 5,85 i visine 3,22 metra, a pogonili su je parni stroj i dva bermudska jedra na pramčanom i krmenom jarbolu.

Postizala je najveću brzinu od 11 čvorova, maksimalan doplov bio joj je 100 nautičkih milja, te je imala do 12 članova posade. Austrijska mornarica ju je preuzela 1899. godine.
Pod imenom "Dalmat" je u srpnju 1914. godine prevozila posmrtne kovčege u Sarajevu ubijenoga austrougarskog prijestolonasljedničkog para, nadvojvode Franje Ferdinanda i njegove supruge Sofije. Njihovi posmrtni ostaci prevezeni su na jahti od Metkovića do ušća Neretve, gdje ih je preuzeo ratni brod "Viribus Unitis".
Već tada su njezine fotografije obišle svijet. "Istranka" ima više nego zanimljivu prošlost, jer je bio u vlasništvu mornarice četiriju država, dok je jedno vrijeme bio i zapovjedni brod.
