Potresi u Jadranu nisu neka velika novost, ali je kod građana Hrvatske problem što su oni došli nakon velikih razornih potresa u Zagrebu i na Baniji, koji su srušili puno kuća i odnijeli ljudske živote pa je percepcija straha od potresa itekako narasla.Toliko da se stječe dojam kako Hrvati, osim o politici, još više u zadnjih godinu dana pričaju o potresima.

- Svakih deset godina u prosjeku dogodi se tako veliki potres u Jadranskom moru kao što je bio ovih dana, koji u pravilu prati i nekoliko slabijih potresa u vrlo kratkom razdoblju. Ovaj prvi koji se dogodio u subotu zapadno od Palagruže na dubini od deset kilometara bio je jačine 5,4 po Richteru i on je jači i od zagrebačkog potresa, ali ga seizmolozi ocjenjuju srednje jakim. Samo je sreća što je potres bio u moru, te nije mogao srušiti materijalna dobra ni ugroziti ljudske živote, osim što su svjetioničari taj potres itekako osjetili. A onda malo nakon toga dogodio se ovaj noviji potres od 4,2 stupnja po Richteru. Ti potresi, kao što vidite, s vremenom postaju sve manje učestali i magnituda im postaje manja. Naravno, to će trajati još tjednima i mjesecima, ali bi se učestalost potresa i magnituda trebale s vremenom smanjivati - smiruje situaciju docent dr. sc. Josip Stipčević s Geofizičkog odsjeka Prirodno-matematičkog fakulteta u Zagrebu.

Ni jedan potres se ne može predvidjeti, ali stručnjaci rade tzv. hazard kartu potresa ili u prijevodu kartu s toponimima gdje se potresi mogu očekivati. Nije nikakva tajna da je po toj karti najugroženije područje oko Dubrovnika, dakle, Južne Dalmacije, što je lako utvrditi povratkom u povijest, gdje se vidi da je sam Dubrovnik gotovo do temelja srušen 1667 godine; da je 1942. godine veliki potres razorio Imotski; Makarska je opasno stradala u potresu 1962., a 1996. je bio jak potres u Stonu. Sjećamo se, 2013. se tresao i Split u siječnju, a epicentar je bio kod Muća, jačine 4,5 stupnjeva po Richteru.

Jači potres iste godine u studenome osjetio se ponajviše u Trilju, s epicentrom kod Livna, a Trilj je poharao i veliki potres i s kraja 19. stoljeća, kada mu je snaga bila 6,7 po Merkaliju.

Ne može se sada govoriti koji su dalmatinski gradovi najugroženiji i jesu li, jer to nitko od seizmologa ne želi prognozirati. Samo nam dr. Stipčević objašnjava zašto se događaju ovi potresi.

Puknuće rasjeda

- Puknuće rasjeda je potres i ljudi ga osjećaju kao trešnju. Što se više energije oslobodi, bit će jači potres. Ova naša mjesta koje spominjemo kao potresna područja leže na Jadranskoj mikroploči ili mikroploči Adria, kako je zovemo, koja se na svojim rubovima dodiruje s nekoliko puta većom Euroazijskom pločom. U interakciji tih ploča koje se kreću po površini Zemlje dolazi do manjih ili većih potresa, a ta rubna područja susreta dviju ploča su najčešće Alpe, Dinaridi, Apenini. Mi ne možemo predvidjeti potrese, ali možemo uočiti pojave koje potresi izazivaju, kao što je, na primjer, da planine rastu i da se vulkani u eruptivnom pogledu utišavaju, i to u zadnjih pedeset-šezdeset milijuna godina", kaže nam ovaj poznati stručnjak.

Domaće stanovništvo Visa nam je u šali reklo da u ovim potresima ima i nešto dobro: "Otjerali su talijanske krivolovce na našu ribu, barem na nekoliko tjedana."

Naš narod u svemu nađe neko objašnjenje, ali objašnjenja stručnjaka su jasna: potres se ne može predvidjeti.

Potresi u Jadranu nisu neka velika novost, ali je kod građana Hrvatske problem što su oni došli nakon velikih razornih potresa u Zagrebu i na Baniji, koji su srušili puno kuća i odnijeli ljudske živote pa je percepcija straha od potresa itekako narasla.Toliko da se stječe dojam kako Hrvati, osim o politici, još više u zadnjih godinu dana pričaju o potresima.

- Svakih deset godina u prosjeku dogodi se tako veliki potres u Jadranskom moru kao što je bio ovih dana, koji u pravilu prati i nekoliko slabijih potresa u vrlo kratkom razdoblju. Ovaj prvi koji se dogodio u subotu zapadno od Palagruže na dubini od deset kilometara bio je jačine 5,4 po Richteru i on je jači i od zagrebačkog potresa, ali ga seizmolozi ocjenjuju srednje jakim. Samo je sreća što je potres bio u moru, te nije mogao srušiti materijalna dobra ni ugroziti ljudske živote, osim što su svjetioničari taj potres itekako osjetili. A onda malo nakon toga dogodio se ovaj noviji potres od 4,2 stupnja po Richteru. Ti potresi, kao što vidite, s vremenom postaju sve manje učestali i magnituda im postaje manja. Naravno, to će trajati još tjednima i mjesecima, ali bi se učestalost potresa i magnituda trebale s vremenom smanjivati - smiruje situaciju docent dr. sc. Josip Stipčević s Geofizičkog odsjeka Prirodno-matematičkog fakulteta u Zagrebu.

Ni jedan potres se ne može predvidjeti, ali stručnjaci rade tzv. hazard kartu potresa ili u prijevodu kartu s toponimima gdje se potresi mogu očekivati. Nije nikakva tajna da je po toj karti najugroženije područje oko Dubrovnika, dakle, Južne Dalmacije, što je lako utvrditi povratkom u povijest, gdje se vidi da je sam Dubrovnik gotovo do temelja srušen 1667 godine; da je 1942. godine veliki potres razorio Imotski; Makarska je opasno stradala u potresu 1962., a 1996. je bio jak potres u Stonu. Sjećamo se, 2013. se tresao i Split u siječnju, a epicentar je bio kod Muća, jačine 4,5 stupnjeva po Richteru.

Jači potres iste godine u studenome osjetio se ponajviše u Trilju, s epicentrom kod Livna, a Trilj je poharao i veliki potres i s kraja 19. stoljeća, kada mu je snaga bila 6,7 po Merkaliju.

Ne može se sada govoriti koji su dalmatinski gradovi najugroženiji i jesu li, jer to nitko od seizmologa ne želi prognozirati. Samo nam dr. Stipčević objašnjava zašto se događaju ovi potresi.

Puknuće rasjeda

- Puknuće rasjeda je potres i ljudi ga osjećaju kao trešnju. Što se više energije oslobodi, bit će jači potres. Ova naša mjesta koje spominjemo kao potresna područja leže na Jadranskoj mikroploči ili mikroploči Adria, kako je zovemo, koja se na svojim rubovima dodiruje s nekoliko puta većom Euroazijskom pločom. U interakciji tih ploča koje se kreću po površini Zemlje dolazi do manjih ili većih potresa, a ta rubna područja susreta dviju ploča su najčešće Alpe, Dinaridi, Apenini. Mi ne možemo predvidjeti potrese, ali možemo uočiti pojave koje potresi izazivaju, kao što je, na primjer, da planine rastu i da se vulkani u eruptivnom pogledu utišavaju, i to u zadnjih pedeset-šezdeset milijuna godina", kaže nam ovaj poznati stručnjak.

Domaće stanovništvo Visa nam je u šali reklo da u ovim potresima ima i nešto dobro: "Otjerali su talijanske krivolovce na našu ribu, barem na nekoliko tjedana."

Naš narod u svemu nađe neko objašnjenje, ali objašnjenja stručnjaka su jasna: potres se ne može predvidjeti.
