Kad su se filmski serijali "Harry Potter", "Sumrak" i "Igre gladi" bližili svome kraju, trebalo je naći njihove franšizne nasljednike. Sad kad je TV serijal "Igra prijestolja" gotov, a u očekivanju prednastavaka, televizija grčevito traži neku veliku višesezonsku fantazijsku seriju.
Sve to podsjeća na puste filmske adaptacije fantazijsko-romantičnih/distopijskih "young adult" romana nakon isteka "Twilighta" i "The Hunger Games" ("Divergent", "The Mortal Instruments", "Mortal Engines"...).
U potrazi za novim "GOT-om" dobili smo "Carnival Row", "His Dark Materials", "The Witcher"..., a upravo i novu Netflixovu seriju "Shadow and Bone" prema "Grishaverse" serijalu romana spisateljice Leigh Bardugo .
"Sjena i kost" neće Netflixu priskrbiti baš novu "Igru prijestolja", premda se heroina serije zamalo preziva Stark (Starkov), ali streaming servis mogao bi dobiti "young adult" fantazijicu na duže staze, podatnu za fanove Bardugovičinih knjiga i slučajne "bingere".
Nalazimo se u nekoć moćnoj kraljevini Ravki, koja je podijeljena Sjenovitim Rasjedom, vizualiziranim poput oblaka tmine iz kojeg vrebaju krilati monstrumi "volkri".
Priča počinje kad kartografkinja Alina Stark (dobra Jessie Mei Li ; izgleda kao da je mlađa sestra Olivije Munn ) nenadano ispolji moć svjetla za boj protiv tame u jednom napadu čudovišta.
Nakon toga Alina biva pozvana na obuku da postane član elitnih magičara "griša" pod vodstvom "mračnjaka" Kirigana (Ben Barnes ; iskusio žanr fantazije u nastavcima "Kronika iz Narnije") koji će joj se svidjeti jednako kao njezin najbolji prijatelj iz djetinjstva Mal (Archie Renaux ).

Izgradnja svijeta, tj. mitologije najbolja je stavka osmodijelne serije, zajedno s heroinom. Produkcijske vrijednosti su iznad prosjeka ovakvog tipa serija, negdje u rangu "His Dark Materials" i "The Nevers", makar neka scenografska rješenja i pojedine lokacije na momente djeluju televizijsko-generički mutnjikavo i/li kao da su preuzete od "Witchera" i sličnih ostvarenja.
A svaki mogući klišej "young adult" tipologije (junakinja koja otkriva moći za spas svijeta i svoj pravi poziv, ljubavni trokuti...), kao i neki podzapleti/likovi viška, lakše se podnose zahvaljujući heroini Alini i glumici koja je portretira, trudeći se pronaći karakternu autentičnost. "Ako ja doista imam ovu moć, tko sam ja", pita se Alina u "Shadow and Bone".
Sličan trud pokazuje kreator serije Eric Heisserer , dosad poznat kao scenarist sjajnog filma "Arrival" i ne tako sjajnog "Bird Boxa".
Naime, jeka svih modernih fantazija i "young adult" distopija odzvanja kroz "Sjenu i kost", no Heisserer nastoji (i dijelom uspijeva) kreirati jedinstven svijet, vizualno nastao pod utjecajem Carske Rusije umjesto viktorijanske Engleske, neovisno o britanskim naglascima glumaca.
"Shadow and Bone" je svakako korak naprijed za Netflix u odnosu na njegove recentne distopijske ili "fantasy" serije "Tribes Of Europa" i "The Irregulars". Serija pokazuje potencijal da izraste u iznadprosječan TV serijal s izraženijim vlastitim "ja" u idućim sezonama.

Kad su se filmski serijali "Harry Potter", "Sumrak" i "Igre gladi" bližili svome kraju, trebalo je naći njihove franšizne nasljednike. Sad kad je TV serijal "Igra prijestolja" gotov, a u očekivanju prednastavaka, televizija grčevito traži neku veliku višesezonsku fantazijsku seriju.
Sve to podsjeća na puste filmske adaptacije fantazijsko-romantičnih/distopijskih "young adult" romana nakon isteka "Twilighta" i "The Hunger Games" ("Divergent", "The Mortal Instruments", "Mortal Engines"...).
U potrazi za novim "GOT-om" dobili smo "Carnival Row", "His Dark Materials", "The Witcher"..., a upravo i novu Netflixovu seriju "Shadow and Bone" prema "Grishaverse" serijalu romana spisateljice Leigh Bardugo .
"Sjena i kost" neće Netflixu priskrbiti baš novu "Igru prijestolja", premda se heroina serije zamalo preziva Stark (Starkov), ali streaming servis mogao bi dobiti "young adult" fantazijicu na duže staze, podatnu za fanove Bardugovičinih knjiga i slučajne "bingere".
Nalazimo se u nekoć moćnoj kraljevini Ravki, koja je podijeljena Sjenovitim Rasjedom, vizualiziranim poput oblaka tmine iz kojeg vrebaju krilati monstrumi "volkri".
Priča počinje kad kartografkinja Alina Stark (dobra Jessie Mei Li ; izgleda kao da je mlađa sestra Olivije Munn ) nenadano ispolji moć svjetla za boj protiv tame u jednom napadu čudovišta.
Nakon toga Alina biva pozvana na obuku da postane član elitnih magičara "griša" pod vodstvom "mračnjaka" Kirigana (Ben Barnes ; iskusio žanr fantazije u nastavcima "Kronika iz Narnije") koji će joj se svidjeti jednako kao njezin najbolji prijatelj iz djetinjstva Mal (Archie Renaux ).

Izgradnja svijeta, tj. mitologije najbolja je stavka osmodijelne serije, zajedno s heroinom. Produkcijske vrijednosti su iznad prosjeka ovakvog tipa serija, negdje u rangu "His Dark Materials" i "The Nevers", makar neka scenografska rješenja i pojedine lokacije na momente djeluju televizijsko-generički mutnjikavo i/li kao da su preuzete od "Witchera" i sličnih ostvarenja.
A svaki mogući klišej "young adult" tipologije (junakinja koja otkriva moći za spas svijeta i svoj pravi poziv, ljubavni trokuti...), kao i neki podzapleti/likovi viška, lakše se podnose zahvaljujući heroini Alini i glumici koja je portretira, trudeći se pronaći karakternu autentičnost. "Ako ja doista imam ovu moć, tko sam ja", pita se Alina u "Shadow and Bone".
Sličan trud pokazuje kreator serije Eric Heisserer , dosad poznat kao scenarist sjajnog filma "Arrival" i ne tako sjajnog "Bird Boxa".
Naime, jeka svih modernih fantazija i "young adult" distopija odzvanja kroz "Sjenu i kost", no Heisserer nastoji (i dijelom uspijeva) kreirati jedinstven svijet, vizualno nastao pod utjecajem Carske Rusije umjesto viktorijanske Engleske, neovisno o britanskim naglascima glumaca.
"Shadow and Bone" je svakako korak naprijed za Netflix u odnosu na njegove recentne distopijske ili "fantasy" serije "Tribes Of Europa" i "The Irregulars". Serija pokazuje potencijal da izraste u iznadprosječan TV serijal s izraženijim vlastitim "ja" u idućim sezonama.
