Stručnjaci Europske medicinske agencije (EMA) predložili su petak da se mogućim nuspojavama AstraZenecinog cjepiva protiv koronavirusa pridoda rijetka upala leđne moždine, transverzalni mijelitis.
Cjepivo je naišlo na nekoliko prepreka, uključujući zastoj u proizvodnji i istrage regulatora uslijed rijetkih slučajeva ozbiljnih nuspojava poput zgrušavanja krvi, što je dovelo do toga da nekoliko zemalja ograniči ili obustavi njegovu primjenu.
EMA-in odbor za sigurnost je također ponovio svoju preporuku da se slično upozorenje primijeni i na cjepivo Johnson&Johnsona.
Transverzalni mijelitis je upala jedne ili obje strane leđne moždine i može izazvati slabost u rukama ili nogama, osjetilne simptome, poteškoće s mjehurom ili probavne smetnje.
Odbor je pregledavši podatke zaključio da je moguće da postoji uzročna veza između tih cjepiva i transverzalnog mijelitisa.
Međutim, dodao je da odnos između koristi i rizika obaju cjepiva ostaje nepromijenjen.
Regulatorna agencija nije pružila nikakve informacije o prijavljenom broju takvih slučajeva nakon cijepljenja, no navela je da je informacijama o cjepivu dodan transverzalni mijelitis kao štetna reakcija nepoznate učestalosti.
Izvješća o ozbiljnim bolestima živčanog sustava su također bila u središtu obustave istraživanja u ranim fazama razvoja cjepiva AstraZenece i Johnson&Johnsona koja se temelje na sličnoj tehnologiji.
Agencija je također predložila ažuriranje informacija o AstraZenecinom cjepivu u vezi sa zgrušavanjem krvi nakon prve doze kako bi se vidjelo da je manje takvih nuspojava zabilježeno nakon druge doze.
Od 1809 slučajeva krvnih ugrušaka s niskim brojem krvnih pločica zabilježenih u svijetu, 1643 su prijavljena nakon prve doze, a 166 nakon druge.

Stručnjaci Europske medicinske agencije (EMA) predložili su petak da se mogućim nuspojavama AstraZenecinog cjepiva protiv koronavirusa pridoda rijetka upala leđne moždine, transverzalni mijelitis.
Cjepivo je naišlo na nekoliko prepreka, uključujući zastoj u proizvodnji i istrage regulatora uslijed rijetkih slučajeva ozbiljnih nuspojava poput zgrušavanja krvi, što je dovelo do toga da nekoliko zemalja ograniči ili obustavi njegovu primjenu.
EMA-in odbor za sigurnost je također ponovio svoju preporuku da se slično upozorenje primijeni i na cjepivo Johnson&Johnsona.
Transverzalni mijelitis je upala jedne ili obje strane leđne moždine i može izazvati slabost u rukama ili nogama, osjetilne simptome, poteškoće s mjehurom ili probavne smetnje.
Odbor je pregledavši podatke zaključio da je moguće da postoji uzročna veza između tih cjepiva i transverzalnog mijelitisa.
Međutim, dodao je da odnos između koristi i rizika obaju cjepiva ostaje nepromijenjen.
Regulatorna agencija nije pružila nikakve informacije o prijavljenom broju takvih slučajeva nakon cijepljenja, no navela je da je informacijama o cjepivu dodan transverzalni mijelitis kao štetna reakcija nepoznate učestalosti.
Izvješća o ozbiljnim bolestima živčanog sustava su također bila u središtu obustave istraživanja u ranim fazama razvoja cjepiva AstraZenece i Johnson&Johnsona koja se temelje na sličnoj tehnologiji.
Agencija je također predložila ažuriranje informacija o AstraZenecinom cjepivu u vezi sa zgrušavanjem krvi nakon prve doze kako bi se vidjelo da je manje takvih nuspojava zabilježeno nakon druge doze.
Od 1809 slučajeva krvnih ugrušaka s niskim brojem krvnih pločica zabilježenih u svijetu, 1643 su prijavljena nakon prve doze, a 166 nakon druge.
