HBO-ova serija "The Last Of Us" nadmašila je gledanost "Igara prijestolja" i "Euforije" kad se počela emitirati sredinom siječnja. Početne brojke pozicionirale su "The Last Of Us" na drugo mjesto u povijesti HBO-a iza prošlogodišnje "Zmajeve kuće". No, gledanost je rasla iz epizode u epizodu i "The Last Of Us" je, dva mjeseca kasnije, u finalu nadmašio i "House Of The Dragon". Gledanost finalne epizode u Americi bila je golema unatoč tome što se emitiranje poklopilo s dodjelom Oscara.

Postapokaliptična Amerika

Tako, televizija je dobila novi serijski megafenomen nakon Netflixove "Igre lignje" na kojem je obol dala i Jasmila Žbanić režirajući šestu epizodu. Uspjeh "The Last Of Us" je rezultat više faktora. Za početak, serija je utemeljena na popularnoj videoigri koju je vjerno prenijela na ekran, puno vjernije i (kvalitetnije) u odnosu na neke prijašnje ekranizacije poput "Need For Speed" i "Assassins Creed".

Koautor videoigre Neil Druckmann sudjelovao je u radi na adaptaciji zajedno s provjerenim kreatorom prestižnih serija Craigom Mazinom (također HBO-ov "Černobil"). Za glavnu ulogu odabran je sve popularniji glumac Pedro Pascal ("Nepodnošljiva težina golemog talenta", "GOT", "Wonder Woman 1984"), specijaliziran za izvedbe sredovječnih junaka i protektivnih očinskih figura ("Mandalorian").

Pascal je bio logičan izbor za lik Joela koji je u apokalipsi izgubio kćerku Sarah (Nico Parker) i treba iz karantene "prokrijumčariti" 14-godišnju tinejdžericu Ellie (Bella Ramsay), novu nadu čovječanstva otpornu na infekciju, te je prevesti preko pola postapokaliptične Amerike napučene zombijima.

Tajming za emitiranje "The Last Of Us" je pogođen u post-koronsko vrijeme. Prošle i pretprošle godine tko zna bi li "The Last Of Us" bio ovoliko popularan dok je korona još bila na snazi, ali sad kad je jenjala traumatizirani gledatelji s mogu s vremenskim odmakom (i određenim olakšanjem) gledati seriju o pandemiji parazitskih "zombijevskih" gljivica koja je u ovoj priči uspjela uništiti modernu civilizaciju.

Zombiji su, usto, vječito popularni monstrumi na filmu i televiziji, a i prestižna (dramska) televizija od početka godine još uvijek nije dala ovako dobru seriju kao što je "The Last Of Us" (četvrta sezona "Nasljedstva" je tek krenula s emitiranjem). Potonje dvije komponente – zombiji + prestižna televizija – možda su i najznakovitije za uspjeh serije koju neki već žure pozicionirati na listu najboljih svih vremena, iako nije baš toliko-toliko dobra.

Prestižna drama

Naime, zombiji dosad nisu bili domena prestižne televizije (Netflixovo "Crno ljeto", "Kraljevstvo", "Svi smo mrtvi"), budući da su "Živi mrtvaci" izgubili prestiž nakon prvih nekoliko sezona, ako su ga ikad i imali u tom smislu. A "The Last Of Us" ubacuje zombije unutar prestižne televizije i na njima gradi dramu.

To je dvosjekli mač. Jer, s jedne strane, serija ne ispunjava do kraja potencijal zombijevskog horora da bi bila savršena kao postapokaliptična hororska drama, odnosno gdjekad joj nedostaje joj zbiljske tenzije i ugođaja iz žanra strave i užasa, ako se izuzme odlična scena sa zombijem rascvjetane glave zvanim "clicker".

S druge strane, nijedna zombijevska serija nije bila ovoliko psihološko-dramski potkovana i karakterno duboka. Drama je najsnažnije oružje (u) "The Last Of Us", razlikuje seriju od svih televizijskih zombi-apokalipsi i na taj način subvertira žanr. "The Last Of Us" je u konačnici bliskiji serijskoj postapokalipsi bez zombija "Station Eleven" nego zombijevskoj "Walking Dead", pri čemu su neki ljudi u seriji, poput vođe kanibala Davida (Scott Shepherd), gori od zombija. U tome i jest kvaka ove serije.

"The Last Of Us" je fokusiran na likove i njihovo dramski poistovjetljivije preživljavanje postapokalipse. Cijela jedna (treća) epizoda isključivo je karakterno intonirana i posvećena Billu (Nick Offerman; glumio u seriji "Devs") koji je u videoigri bio minoran lik, ali ovdje pronalazi ljubav na kraju svijeta s Frankom (Murray Bartlett; otkriće "Bijelog lotosa"), a "woke" agenda uspijeva izrasti u jedan prilično iskren odnos dvoje ljudi zahvaljujući vrlo dobrim glumcima.

Dakako, najveći naglasak je na srcedrapateljskoj emotivnoj konekciji Joela i Ellie tijekom putovanja. Serija se ne libi emocija i nastoji vratiti poljuljanu vjeru u čovječanstvo, pronaći svjetlo u tami.

HBO-ova serija "The Last Of Us" nadmašila je gledanost "Igara prijestolja" i "Euforije" kad se počela emitirati sredinom siječnja. Početne brojke pozicionirale su "The Last Of Us" na drugo mjesto u povijesti HBO-a iza prošlogodišnje "Zmajeve kuće". No, gledanost je rasla iz epizode u epizodu i "The Last Of Us" je, dva mjeseca kasnije, u finalu nadmašio i "House Of The Dragon". Gledanost finalne epizode u Americi bila je golema unatoč tome što se emitiranje poklopilo s dodjelom Oscara.

Postapokaliptična Amerika

Tako, televizija je dobila novi serijski megafenomen nakon Netflixove "Igre lignje" na kojem je obol dala i Jasmila Žbanić režirajući šestu epizodu. Uspjeh "The Last Of Us" je rezultat više faktora. Za početak, serija je utemeljena na popularnoj videoigri koju je vjerno prenijela na ekran, puno vjernije i (kvalitetnije) u odnosu na neke prijašnje ekranizacije poput "Need For Speed" i "Assassins Creed".

Koautor videoigre Neil Druckmann sudjelovao je u radi na adaptaciji zajedno s provjerenim kreatorom prestižnih serija Craigom Mazinom (također HBO-ov "Černobil"). Za glavnu ulogu odabran je sve popularniji glumac Pedro Pascal ("Nepodnošljiva težina golemog talenta", "GOT", "Wonder Woman 1984"), specijaliziran za izvedbe sredovječnih junaka i protektivnih očinskih figura ("Mandalorian").

Pascal je bio logičan izbor za lik Joela koji je u apokalipsi izgubio kćerku Sarah (Nico Parker) i treba iz karantene "prokrijumčariti" 14-godišnju tinejdžericu Ellie (Bella Ramsay), novu nadu čovječanstva otpornu na infekciju, te je prevesti preko pola postapokaliptične Amerike napučene zombijima.

Tajming za emitiranje "The Last Of Us" je pogođen u post-koronsko vrijeme. Prošle i pretprošle godine tko zna bi li "The Last Of Us" bio ovoliko popularan dok je korona još bila na snazi, ali sad kad je jenjala traumatizirani gledatelji s mogu s vremenskim odmakom (i određenim olakšanjem) gledati seriju o pandemiji parazitskih "zombijevskih" gljivica koja je u ovoj priči uspjela uništiti modernu civilizaciju.

Zombiji su, usto, vječito popularni monstrumi na filmu i televiziji, a i prestižna (dramska) televizija od početka godine još uvijek nije dala ovako dobru seriju kao što je "The Last Of Us" (četvrta sezona "Nasljedstva" je tek krenula s emitiranjem). Potonje dvije komponente – zombiji + prestižna televizija – možda su i najznakovitije za uspjeh serije koju neki već žure pozicionirati na listu najboljih svih vremena, iako nije baš toliko-toliko dobra.

Prestižna drama

Naime, zombiji dosad nisu bili domena prestižne televizije (Netflixovo "Crno ljeto", "Kraljevstvo", "Svi smo mrtvi"), budući da su "Živi mrtvaci" izgubili prestiž nakon prvih nekoliko sezona, ako su ga ikad i imali u tom smislu. A "The Last Of Us" ubacuje zombije unutar prestižne televizije i na njima gradi dramu.

To je dvosjekli mač. Jer, s jedne strane, serija ne ispunjava do kraja potencijal zombijevskog horora da bi bila savršena kao postapokaliptična hororska drama, odnosno gdjekad joj nedostaje joj zbiljske tenzije i ugođaja iz žanra strave i užasa, ako se izuzme odlična scena sa zombijem rascvjetane glave zvanim "clicker".

S druge strane, nijedna zombijevska serija nije bila ovoliko psihološko-dramski potkovana i karakterno duboka. Drama je najsnažnije oružje (u) "The Last Of Us", razlikuje seriju od svih televizijskih zombi-apokalipsi i na taj način subvertira žanr. "The Last Of Us" je u konačnici bliskiji serijskoj postapokalipsi bez zombija "Station Eleven" nego zombijevskoj "Walking Dead", pri čemu su neki ljudi u seriji, poput vođe kanibala Davida (Scott Shepherd), gori od zombija. U tome i jest kvaka ove serije.

"The Last Of Us" je fokusiran na likove i njihovo dramski poistovjetljivije preživljavanje postapokalipse. Cijela jedna (treća) epizoda isključivo je karakterno intonirana i posvećena Billu (Nick Offerman; glumio u seriji "Devs") koji je u videoigri bio minoran lik, ali ovdje pronalazi ljubav na kraju svijeta s Frankom (Murray Bartlett; otkriće "Bijelog lotosa"), a "woke" agenda uspijeva izrasti u jedan prilično iskren odnos dvoje ljudi zahvaljujući vrlo dobrim glumcima.

Dakako, najveći naglasak je na srcedrapateljskoj emotivnoj konekciji Joela i Ellie tijekom putovanja. Serija se ne libi emocija i nastoji vratiti poljuljanu vjeru u čovječanstvo, pronaći svjetlo u tami.

Zombiji su, usto, vječito popularni monstrumi na filmu i televiziji, a i prestižna (dramska) televizija od početka godine još uvijek nije dala ovako dobru seriju kao što je "The Last Of Us" (četvrta sezona "Nasljedstva" je tek krenula s emitiranjem). Potonje dvije komponente – zombiji + prestižna televizija – možda su i najznakovitije za uspjeh serije koju neki već žure pozicionirati na listu najboljih svih vremena, iako nije baš toliko-toliko dobra.

Prestižna drama

Naime, zombiji dosad nisu bili domena prestižne televizije (Netflixovo "Crno ljeto", "Kraljevstvo", "Svi smo mrtvi"), budući da su "Živi mrtvaci" izgubili prestiž nakon prvih nekoliko sezona, ako su ga ikad i imali u tom smislu. A "The Last Of Us" ubacuje zombije unutar prestižne televizije i na njima gradi dramu.

To je dvosjekli mač. Jer, s jedne strane, serija ne ispunjava do kraja potencijal zombijevskog horora da bi bila savršena kao postapokaliptična hororska drama, odnosno gdjekad joj nedostaje joj zbiljske tenzije i ugođaja iz žanra strave i užasa, ako se izuzme odlična scena sa zombijem rascvjetane glave zvanim "clicker".

S druge strane, nijedna zombijevska serija nije bila ovoliko psihološko-dramski potkovana i karakterno duboka. Drama je najsnažnije oružje (u) "The Last Of Us", razlikuje seriju od svih televizijskih zombi-apokalipsi i na taj način subvertira žanr. "The Last Of Us" je u konačnici bliskiji serijskoj postapokalipsi bez zombija "Station Eleven" nego zombijevskoj "Walking Dead", pri čemu su neki ljudi u seriji, poput vođe kanibala Davida (Scott Shepherd), gori od zombija. U tome i jest kvaka ove serije.

"The Last Of Us" je fokusiran na likove i njihovo dramski poistovjetljivije preživljavanje postapokalipse. Cijela jedna (treća) epizoda isključivo je karakterno intonirana i posvećena Billu (Nick Offerman; glumio u seriji "Devs") koji je u videoigri bio minoran lik, ali ovdje pronalazi ljubav na kraju svijeta s Frankom (Murray Bartlett; otkriće "Bijelog lotosa"), a "woke" agenda uspijeva izrasti u jedan prilično iskren odnos dvoje ljudi zahvaljujući vrlo dobrim glumcima.

Dakako, najveći naglasak je na srcedrapateljskoj emotivnoj konekciji Joela i Ellie tijekom putovanja. Serija se ne libi emocija i nastoji vratiti poljuljanu vjeru u čovječanstvo, pronaći svjetlo u tami.
