Slavko Govorčin (Iž Mali Iž, 18. listopada 1927. - Zadar, 6. siječnja 2024.) dobro je poznat čitateljima "Slobodne Dalmacije“, kao autor originalne kolumne "Naporuk z školja“. Bio bi još poznatiji da su oni koji pjevuše klapsku pjesmu "O, more, mati“ znali da je skladana na stihove njegove pjesme "Sušna zikva na školju“. Na takav je način, polako i diskretno, gotovo neprimjetno, ušlo i njegovo djelo među oznake suvremenoga zadarskoga kulturnog identiteta.
To nikako nije mogla izmaknuti oštrom oku Marka Vasilja koji je djelo Slavka Govorčina, 2005. godine, svrstao u zbirku ogleda o piscima "zadarskoga književnoga kruga". Oni su, kako piše dr.sc. Vanda Babić, "bez razlike na svoje podrijetlo, povezani svojim prebivanjem, svojim svakodnevnim življenjem u istom gradu". Za zbirku „Uljanica moje matere“, iz 1984. godine, Vasilj veli kako je "rasplamsala čakavsko pjesništvo zadarskog kruga", dok u pjesmi "Sušna zikva na škoju" osjeća kako autor "pjeva svoje najpjevnije stihove".
Kapitalno djelo njegova opusa zacijelo je monografija iz 2007. godine pod naslovom "Libar o Žmaku". U pitanju je iznenađujuće opširan zbornik štorijâ, batudâ, dišpetâ, barufâ i fločadâ svojedobno popularnih likova zadarske ribarnice, pučkih gostionica i boćališta, na čelu sa Žmakom i njegovim prijateljem, barkarijolom Giacomom. Naprosto je nevjerojatno kako se precizno uklapa u zaključak dr.sc. Krešimira Nemeca, iz 2010. godine, da je ratna destrukcija potaknula pojavu tekstova koji se bave duhovnom dimenzijom pripadnosti gradu.
Nije teško zapaziti kako se u "Libru o Žmaku“ govori čakavskim dijalektom, ali i dijalektalnim idiomom zadarskoga zaleđa. Onako kako je, 1992. godine, pisao dr.sc. Vladimir Skračić: „U Zadru se ne govori ni vlaški ni bodulski. Ili točnije, govori se i vlaški i bodulski, ali se ne govori ‘po zadarski‘“.
Dvadeset godina kasnije dr. sc. Irena Marković zaključit će: „Danas je zadarski razgovorni jezik rezultat utjecaja migracija govornika koji dolaze s otoka, novoštokavštine iz zaleđa, čakavske ikavice južnih čakavskih idioma na obali, te standardne novoštokavštine“.
Nema dvojbe, bez opusa Slavka Govorčina ne može se govoriti o obnovi građanskog identiteta Zadra.

Slavko Govorčin (Iž Mali Iž, 18. listopada 1927. - Zadar, 6. siječnja 2024.) dobro je poznat čitateljima "Slobodne Dalmacije“, kao autor originalne kolumne "Naporuk z školja“. Bio bi još poznatiji da su oni koji pjevuše klapsku pjesmu "O, more, mati“ znali da je skladana na stihove njegove pjesme "Sušna zikva na školju“. Na takav je način, polako i diskretno, gotovo neprimjetno, ušlo i njegovo djelo među oznake suvremenoga zadarskoga kulturnog identiteta.
To nikako nije mogla izmaknuti oštrom oku Marka Vasilja koji je djelo Slavka Govorčina, 2005. godine, svrstao u zbirku ogleda o piscima "zadarskoga književnoga kruga". Oni su, kako piše dr.sc. Vanda Babić, "bez razlike na svoje podrijetlo, povezani svojim prebivanjem, svojim svakodnevnim življenjem u istom gradu". Za zbirku „Uljanica moje matere“, iz 1984. godine, Vasilj veli kako je "rasplamsala čakavsko pjesništvo zadarskog kruga", dok u pjesmi "Sušna zikva na škoju" osjeća kako autor "pjeva svoje najpjevnije stihove".
Kapitalno djelo njegova opusa zacijelo je monografija iz 2007. godine pod naslovom "Libar o Žmaku". U pitanju je iznenađujuće opširan zbornik štorijâ, batudâ, dišpetâ, barufâ i fločadâ svojedobno popularnih likova zadarske ribarnice, pučkih gostionica i boćališta, na čelu sa Žmakom i njegovim prijateljem, barkarijolom Giacomom. Naprosto je nevjerojatno kako se precizno uklapa u zaključak dr.sc. Krešimira Nemeca, iz 2010. godine, da je ratna destrukcija potaknula pojavu tekstova koji se bave duhovnom dimenzijom pripadnosti gradu.
Nije teško zapaziti kako se u "Libru o Žmaku“ govori čakavskim dijalektom, ali i dijalektalnim idiomom zadarskoga zaleđa. Onako kako je, 1992. godine, pisao dr.sc. Vladimir Skračić: „U Zadru se ne govori ni vlaški ni bodulski. Ili točnije, govori se i vlaški i bodulski, ali se ne govori ‘po zadarski‘“.
Dvadeset godina kasnije dr. sc. Irena Marković zaključit će: „Danas je zadarski razgovorni jezik rezultat utjecaja migracija govornika koji dolaze s otoka, novoštokavštine iz zaleđa, čakavske ikavice južnih čakavskih idioma na obali, te standardne novoštokavštine“.
Nema dvojbe, bez opusa Slavka Govorčina ne može se govoriti o obnovi građanskog identiteta Zadra.
