Do 90 posto britanskih benzinskih postaja presušilo je u ponedjeljak u velikim engleskim gradovima nakon što je panična kupnja produbila krizu u lancu opskrbe izazvanu nedostatkom vozača kamiona, za koju trgovci upozoravaju da bi mogla ugroziti peto najveće svjetsko gospodarstvo.
Ogroman nedostatak vozača kamiona nakon brexita u Velikoj Britaniji izazvao je kaos u lancima opskrbe u svemu, od hrane do goriva te povećao čitav niz poremećaja i poskupljenja uoči Božića.
Samo nekoliko dana nakon što je vlada premijera Borisa Johnsona potrošila milijune funti kako bi spriječila nestašicu hrane zbog skoka cijena prirodnog plina i nusproizvoda ugljičnog dioksida, ministri su u više navrata tražili od ljudi da se suzdrže od panične kupnje.
No, u nedjelju su deseci automobila u redovima izlazili s benzinskih postaja širom zemlje gutajući zalihe i prisiljavajući mnoge benzinske postaje da se jednostavno zatvore. Crpke u britanskim gradovima bile su ili zatvorene ili su imale natpise da goriva nema, rekli su novinari Reutersa.
"Neki naši članovi, velike grupe s portfeljem web stranica, izvješćuju da je od jučer bez goriva ostalo 50 posto, neki čak navode 90 posto", rekao je za Sky Brian Madderson, predsjednik Udruge trgovaca naftnim derivatima.
Udruga trgovaca benzinom (PRA) predstavlja neovisne trgovce gorivom na malo koji sada čine 65 posto britanskih benzinskih postaja.
"Dakle, vidite da je prilično akutno", rekao je Madderson. "Ponedjeljak ujutro počet će prilično suho", dodao je.
BP je u nedjelju rekao da je gotovo trećini njegovih britanskih benzinskih postaja ponestalo dvije glavne vrste goriva jer je panična kupnja natjerala vladu da obustavi zakone o tržišnom natjecanju i omogući tvrtkama da rade zajedno kako bi ublažile nestašice.
Poslovni tajnik Kwasi Kwarteng rekao je da će suspenzija omogućiti tvrtkama razmjenu informacija i koordinirati njihov odgovor.
"Ovaj korak omogućit će vladi da konstruktivno surađuje s proizvođačima goriva, dobavljačima, prijevoznicima i trgovcima na malo kako bi se osiguralo da se poremećaji svedu na najmanju moguću mjeru", navodi se u priopćenju poslovnog odjela.
Vlada je u nedjelju objavila plan o izdavanju privremenih viza za 5000 stranih vozača kamiona.
No, poslovni čelnici upozorili su da je vladin plan kratkoročno rješenje i da neće riješiti akutni nedostatak radne snage.

Do 90 posto britanskih benzinskih postaja presušilo je u ponedjeljak u velikim engleskim gradovima nakon što je panična kupnja produbila krizu u lancu opskrbe izazvanu nedostatkom vozača kamiona, za koju trgovci upozoravaju da bi mogla ugroziti peto najveće svjetsko gospodarstvo.
Ogroman nedostatak vozača kamiona nakon brexita u Velikoj Britaniji izazvao je kaos u lancima opskrbe u svemu, od hrane do goriva te povećao čitav niz poremećaja i poskupljenja uoči Božića.
Samo nekoliko dana nakon što je vlada premijera Borisa Johnsona potrošila milijune funti kako bi spriječila nestašicu hrane zbog skoka cijena prirodnog plina i nusproizvoda ugljičnog dioksida, ministri su u više navrata tražili od ljudi da se suzdrže od panične kupnje.
No, u nedjelju su deseci automobila u redovima izlazili s benzinskih postaja širom zemlje gutajući zalihe i prisiljavajući mnoge benzinske postaje da se jednostavno zatvore. Crpke u britanskim gradovima bile su ili zatvorene ili su imale natpise da goriva nema, rekli su novinari Reutersa.
"Neki naši članovi, velike grupe s portfeljem web stranica, izvješćuju da je od jučer bez goriva ostalo 50 posto, neki čak navode 90 posto", rekao je za Sky Brian Madderson, predsjednik Udruge trgovaca naftnim derivatima.
Udruga trgovaca benzinom (PRA) predstavlja neovisne trgovce gorivom na malo koji sada čine 65 posto britanskih benzinskih postaja.
"Dakle, vidite da je prilično akutno", rekao je Madderson. "Ponedjeljak ujutro počet će prilično suho", dodao je.
BP je u nedjelju rekao da je gotovo trećini njegovih britanskih benzinskih postaja ponestalo dvije glavne vrste goriva jer je panična kupnja natjerala vladu da obustavi zakone o tržišnom natjecanju i omogući tvrtkama da rade zajedno kako bi ublažile nestašice.
Poslovni tajnik Kwasi Kwarteng rekao je da će suspenzija omogućiti tvrtkama razmjenu informacija i koordinirati njihov odgovor.
"Ovaj korak omogućit će vladi da konstruktivno surađuje s proizvođačima goriva, dobavljačima, prijevoznicima i trgovcima na malo kako bi se osiguralo da se poremećaji svedu na najmanju moguću mjeru", navodi se u priopćenju poslovnog odjela.
Vlada je u nedjelju objavila plan o izdavanju privremenih viza za 5000 stranih vozača kamiona.
No, poslovni čelnici upozorili su da je vladin plan kratkoročno rješenje i da neće riješiti akutni nedostatak radne snage.
