Neuralink, biotehnološka tvrtka u vlasništvu milijardera Elona Muska, priznala je da je ubila osam majmuna tijekom ispitivanja svoje tehnologije čipova mozga, u blogu objavljenom u ponedjeljak. Tvrtka je branila svoju upotrebu životinja u istraživanju i odbacila optužbe da je majmune podvrgla "ekstremnoj patnji". Dodali su da se "svi novi medicinski uređaji i tretmani" moraju isprobati na životinjama prije nego što budu etički prihvatljivi za ispitivanje na ljudima.

"U Neuralinku smo apsolutno predani radu sa životinjama na najhumaniji i najetičniji mogući način", izjavili su iz tvrtke. “Korištenje svake životinje opsežno je planirano i nužno je za balansiranje znanstvenog otkrića s etičkom upotrebom životinja.”

Tvrtka je, međutim, priznala da je osam životinja eutanazirano tijekom ispitivanja. Rekli su da je dvoje majmuna ubijeno na "planirane krajnje datume radi prikupljanja važnih histoloških podataka", dok je šest zabrinjavajuće umrlo od posljedica kirurških komplikacija, kvarova uređaja ili infekcija povezanih s uređajem.

"U Neuralinku nikada nismo zadovoljni trenutnim standardima za dobrobit životinja i uvijek ćemo se natjerati da učinimo više za životinje koje toliko doprinose čovječanstvu", zaključio je blog, dodajući da se raduju tom danu kada životinje više nisu potrebne u testiranju, prenosi RT. 

Prošlog tjedna, liječnički odbor za odgovornu medicinu (PCRM) podnio je pritužbu optužujući Neuralink da nije pružio odgovarajuću skrb za životinje majmunima u Davis centru za primate Sveučilišta u Kaliforniji, navodeći devet kršenja Zakona o dobrobiti životinja. Sveučilište je negiralo bilo kakvu nepravdu.

Neuralink, biotehnološka tvrtka u vlasništvu milijardera Elona Muska, priznala je da je ubila osam majmuna tijekom ispitivanja svoje tehnologije čipova mozga, u blogu objavljenom u ponedjeljak. Tvrtka je branila svoju upotrebu životinja u istraživanju i odbacila optužbe da je majmune podvrgla "ekstremnoj patnji". Dodali su da se "svi novi medicinski uređaji i tretmani" moraju isprobati na životinjama prije nego što budu etički prihvatljivi za ispitivanje na ljudima.

"U Neuralinku smo apsolutno predani radu sa životinjama na najhumaniji i najetičniji mogući način", izjavili su iz tvrtke. “Korištenje svake životinje opsežno je planirano i nužno je za balansiranje znanstvenog otkrića s etičkom upotrebom životinja.”

Tvrtka je, međutim, priznala da je osam životinja eutanazirano tijekom ispitivanja. Rekli su da je dvoje majmuna ubijeno na "planirane krajnje datume radi prikupljanja važnih histoloških podataka", dok je šest zabrinjavajuće umrlo od posljedica kirurških komplikacija, kvarova uređaja ili infekcija povezanih s uređajem.

"U Neuralinku nikada nismo zadovoljni trenutnim standardima za dobrobit životinja i uvijek ćemo se natjerati da učinimo više za životinje koje toliko doprinose čovječanstvu", zaključio je blog, dodajući da se raduju tom danu kada životinje više nisu potrebne u testiranju, prenosi RT. 

Prošlog tjedna, liječnički odbor za odgovornu medicinu (PCRM) podnio je pritužbu optužujući Neuralink da nije pružio odgovarajuću skrb za životinje majmunima u Davis centru za primate Sveučilišta u Kaliforniji, navodeći devet kršenja Zakona o dobrobiti životinja. Sveučilište je negiralo bilo kakvu nepravdu.

Neuralink, biotehnološka tvrtka u vlasništvu milijardera Elona Muska, priznala je da je ubila osam majmuna tijekom ispitivanja svoje tehnologije čipova mozga, u blogu objavljenom u ponedjeljak. Tvrtka je branila svoju upotrebu životinja u istraživanju i odbacila optužbe da je majmune podvrgla "ekstremnoj patnji". Dodali su da se "svi novi medicinski uređaji i tretmani" moraju isprobati na životinjama prije nego što budu etički prihvatljivi za ispitivanje na ljudima.

"U Neuralinku smo apsolutno predani radu sa životinjama na najhumaniji i najetičniji mogući način", izjavili su iz tvrtke. “Korištenje svake životinje opsežno je planirano i nužno je za balansiranje znanstvenog otkrića s etičkom upotrebom životinja.”
