Nakon što je ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin stavio svoje nuklearne snage u stanje "pojačane pripravnosti", a uslijedilo je i zauzimanje nuklearnih elektrana, svijet se vratio hladnoratovskom strahu od nuklearnog rata. No, stručnjaci i analitičari smatraju kako postoje mnogo opravdaniji strahovi, a jedan je da bi Rusija najprije mogla pokrenuti - biološki rat, piše Jutarnji list.

Ne bi to bilo prvi puta da se ovakvo, zastrašujuće oružje koristi u sukobima u nedavnoj povijesti.

U ranim satima 21. kolovoza 2013. rakete sa nervnim agensima pogodile su Gutu, predgrađe sirijske metropole Damaska. Bio je to najsmrtonosniji napad kemijskim oružjem još od iransko-iračkog rata. Procjene variraju, podaci kažu da je do zore od posljedica trovanja preminulo između 281 i 1.729 žena, muškaraca i djece.

Strašni otrov sarin

Preživjeli kažu kako su žrtve bježale iz svojih kuća, ali bi padali po cesti kao pokošeni, a iz usta i nosnica izlazila im je bijela pjena. Nervni agens momentalno je uzrokovao paralizu njihovog dišnog sustava, što je dovelo do smrt, piše Daily Telegraph podsjećajući da je proizvodnja i gomilanje zaliha nervnih otrova poput sarina zabranjena konvencijom iz 1997.

Ipak, nisu se sve zemlje pokorile takvom režimu. Režim sirijskog predsjednika Bašira al-Asada u posljednji je čas naredio uništavanje svojih zaliha kemijskog oružja, francuske i američke snage već su bile spremne zračnim napadima uništiti postrojenja.

Pomoćnik američkog ministra obrane u vrijeme Barracka Obame, Andy Weber, bio je zadužen za nuklearnu, kemijsku i biološku obranu te mu je povjeren zadatak pronalaska, izmještanja i uništenja sirijskog otrovnog arsenala. U samo nekoliko tjedana njegov je tim detektirao više od 1.300 tona kemijskog oružja, uključujući strašni sarin. Unatoč tomu, Sirija je pod ruskom podrškom nastavila bacati kemijsko oružje.

Weber je ovog tjedna rekao kako postoji opravdana bojazan da bi kemijsko oružje, ili pak oružje koje bi moglo izazvati različite bolesti, moglo biti iskorišteno u ratu u Ukrajini. Štoviše, po njemu je to vjerojatniji scenarij od nuklearnog rata.

- Iako se Putin busa o prsa sa nuklearnim naoružanjem, vjerojatnije je da će u Ukrajini iskoristiti biološko oružje - kazao je. Objašnjava kako je bivši Sovjetski savez imao najveći program proizvodnje kemijskog oružja u povijesti svijeta, te da su neki dijelovi tog programa nastavili s radom i nakon raspada SSSR-a.

- Rusija ima tri vojna biološka postrojenja u koje, koliko znamo, nikada nije ušao nitko osim Rusa. Uopće ne znamo što su sve sposobni proizvesti - ističe.

Rusija, pak, tvrdi drugačije. Ministar vanjskih poslova Sergej Lavrov javno je u utorak ustvrdio kako je Rusija zabrinuta zbog navodnih informacija, za koje nije pružio nikakve dokaze, kako je Amerika ustrašena da bi Zapad mogao izgubiti kontrolu nad ukrajinskim biološkim postrojenjima i laboratorijima.

Ukrajina nema biološko oružje

- Ne mogu otkrivati tajne, ali imamo informaciju da Pentagon jako zabrinut zbog budućnosti kemijskih i bioloških postrojenja u Ukrajini. Zabrinuti se da će Ukrajina izgubiti nadzor nad njima - rekao je Lavrov tijekom govora u Ujedinjenim Narodima.

Zapad odbija takve tvrdnje i izričito kaže kako Ukrajina nema laboratorije za proizvodnju biološkog oružja.

Bivši zamjenik u Ministarstvu obrane SAD-a, kontraadmiral John Gower, koji se specijalizirao za nuklearno oružje i biološku, kemijsku i radijacijsku zaštitu, u to je uvjeren, piše Telegraph.

Nakon što je ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin stavio svoje nuklearne snage u stanje "pojačane pripravnosti", a uslijedilo je i zauzimanje nuklearnih elektrana, svijet se vratio hladnoratovskom strahu od nuklearnog rata. No, stručnjaci i analitičari smatraju kako postoje mnogo opravdaniji strahovi, a jedan je da bi Rusija najprije mogla pokrenuti - biološki rat, piše Jutarnji list.

Ne bi to bilo prvi puta da se ovakvo, zastrašujuće oružje koristi u sukobima u nedavnoj povijesti.

U ranim satima 21. kolovoza 2013. rakete sa nervnim agensima pogodile su Gutu, predgrađe sirijske metropole Damaska. Bio je to najsmrtonosniji napad kemijskim oružjem još od iransko-iračkog rata. Procjene variraju, podaci kažu da je do zore od posljedica trovanja preminulo između 281 i 1.729 žena, muškaraca i djece.

Strašni otrov sarin

Preživjeli kažu kako su žrtve bježale iz svojih kuća, ali bi padali po cesti kao pokošeni, a iz usta i nosnica izlazila im je bijela pjena. Nervni agens momentalno je uzrokovao paralizu njihovog dišnog sustava, što je dovelo do smrt, piše Daily Telegraph podsjećajući da je proizvodnja i gomilanje zaliha nervnih otrova poput sarina zabranjena konvencijom iz 1997.

Ipak, nisu se sve zemlje pokorile takvom režimu. Režim sirijskog predsjednika Bašira al-Asada u posljednji je čas naredio uništavanje svojih zaliha kemijskog oružja, francuske i američke snage već su bile spremne zračnim napadima uništiti postrojenja.

Pomoćnik američkog ministra obrane u vrijeme Barracka Obame, Andy Weber, bio je zadužen za nuklearnu, kemijsku i biološku obranu te mu je povjeren zadatak pronalaska, izmještanja i uništenja sirijskog otrovnog arsenala. U samo nekoliko tjedana njegov je tim detektirao više od 1.300 tona kemijskog oružja, uključujući strašni sarin. Unatoč tomu, Sirija je pod ruskom podrškom nastavila bacati kemijsko oružje.

Weber je ovog tjedna rekao kako postoji opravdana bojazan da bi kemijsko oružje, ili pak oružje koje bi moglo izazvati različite bolesti, moglo biti iskorišteno u ratu u Ukrajini. Štoviše, po njemu je to vjerojatniji scenarij od nuklearnog rata.

- Iako se Putin busa o prsa sa nuklearnim naoružanjem, vjerojatnije je da će u Ukrajini iskoristiti biološko oružje - kazao je. Objašnjava kako je bivši Sovjetski savez imao najveći program proizvodnje kemijskog oružja u povijesti svijeta, te da su neki dijelovi tog programa nastavili s radom i nakon raspada SSSR-a.

- Rusija ima tri vojna biološka postrojenja u koje, koliko znamo, nikada nije ušao nitko osim Rusa. Uopće ne znamo što su sve sposobni proizvesti - ističe.

Rusija, pak, tvrdi drugačije. Ministar vanjskih poslova Sergej Lavrov javno je u utorak ustvrdio kako je Rusija zabrinuta zbog navodnih informacija, za koje nije pružio nikakve dokaze, kako je Amerika ustrašena da bi Zapad mogao izgubiti kontrolu nad ukrajinskim biološkim postrojenjima i laboratorijima.

Ukrajina nema biološko oružje

- Ne mogu otkrivati tajne, ali imamo informaciju da Pentagon jako zabrinut zbog budućnosti kemijskih i bioloških postrojenja u Ukrajini. Zabrinuti se da će Ukrajina izgubiti nadzor nad njima - rekao je Lavrov tijekom govora u Ujedinjenim Narodima.

Zapad odbija takve tvrdnje i izričito kaže kako Ukrajina nema laboratorije za proizvodnju biološkog oružja.

Bivši zamjenik u Ministarstvu obrane SAD-a, kontraadmiral John Gower, koji se specijalizirao za nuklearno oružje i biološku, kemijsku i radijacijsku zaštitu, u to je uvjeren, piše Telegraph.

Nakon što je ruski predsjednik Vladimir Putin stavio svoje nuklearne snage u stanje "pojačane pripravnosti", a uslijedilo je i zauzimanje nuklearnih elektrana, svijet se vratio hladnoratovskom strahu od nuklearnog rata. No, stručnjaci i analitičari smatraju kako postoje mnogo opravdaniji strahovi, a jedan je da bi Rusija najprije mogla pokrenuti - biološki rat, piše Jutarnji list.

Ne bi to bilo prvi puta da se ovakvo, zastrašujuće oružje koristi u sukobima u nedavnoj povijesti.

U ranim satima 21. kolovoza 2013. rakete sa nervnim agensima pogodile su Gutu, predgrađe sirijske metropole Damaska. Bio je to najsmrtonosniji napad kemijskim oružjem još od iransko-iračkog rata. Procjene variraju, podaci kažu da je do zore od posljedica trovanja preminulo između 281 i 1.729...
