Povodom smjene Željka Krajana s mjesta izbornika hrvatske Davis Cup reprezentacije Hrvatski teniski savez održao je press konferenciju uoči odlaska u Madrid, pišu Sportske novosti.

Predsjednica HTS-a Nikolina Babić na početku je rekla.

"HTS je sporazumno raskinuo ugovor o radu s Krajanom. Hvala mu na sedam godina rada i suradnje. Došlo je do premećaja u odnosima, moram reći da nisu financijski problemi u pitanu, kako se nagađalo po medijima, već se to dogodilo zbog odnosa. Zbog takvih odnosa i atmosfere odlučeno je da izbornik ne putuje u Madrid budući je izgubio kredibilitet među igračima i u Hrvatskom teniskom savezu. Svi moramo biti u funkciji naših tenisača u HTS-u. Ovakva je odluka donsena sporazumno, a to kažem jer smo razgovarali dosta dugo i on sam je rekao da je u takvoj atmosferi bolje da on ne putuje", izjavila je Babić.

Onda se medijima obratio najbolji hrvatski igrač Borna Ćorić.

"Drago mi je da sam se oporavio i da mogu otići na Davis Cup. Šest mjeseci, još od Hall3ea se mučim s ozljedama, no zadnja dva mjseca nemam većih problema i odlučili smo da idem u Madrid. Bit će ovo veliki izazov za nas, igra se u novom formatu. Nažalost, nismo u najjačem sastavu, ali borit ćemo se", rekao je Ćorić na početku.

Onda se Ćorić osvrnuo na smjenu izbornika.

"Krajan? Niti Savez niti mi igrači nismo bili zadovoljni s nekim stvarima. Mi smo zato donijeli odluku da idemo sami u Madrid i da nam treba neka promjena".

*Neigranje Karlovića?

''Karlovića nije dugo bilo i to je njegov izbor. Prijavio je challenger u Houstonu, a mi nismo mogli dopustiti da on dođe večer prije prvog meča. Bio je to jedini razlog zbog čega se nismo mogli složiti oko njegovog dolaska.''

Novi izbornik reprezentacije je Franko Škugor.

"Nisu ovo idealni uvjeti, ali igrači su s obzirom na situaciju odlučili da ja budem taj koji će voditi reprezentaciju. Bio je to dogovor među igračima, pitali su me da li bi pristao s obzirom da nisam prijavljen za Madrid i ja sam odgovorio potvrdno. Nisu idealni uvjeti, ali ćemo se boriti. Borna će biti prvi igrač, 21-godišnji Borna Gojo (ATP - 279.) ili 22-godišnji Nino Serdarušić će igrati singl, a kod parova imamo vremena procijeniti koji će igrači nastupiti, ovisno i koliko daleko će dogurati Ivan Dodig u Londonu", kazao je Škugor.

Povodom smjene Željka Krajana s mjesta izbornika hrvatske Davis Cup reprezentacije Hrvatski teniski savez održao je press konferenciju uoči odlaska u Madrid, pišu Sportske novosti.

Predsjednica HTS-a Nikolina Babić na početku je rekla.

"HTS je sporazumno raskinuo ugovor o radu s Krajanom. Hvala mu na sedam godina rada i suradnje. Došlo je do premećaja u odnosima, moram reći da nisu financijski problemi u pitanu, kako se nagađalo po medijima, već se to dogodilo zbog odnosa. Zbog takvih odnosa i atmosfere odlučeno je da izbornik ne putuje u Madrid budući je izgubio kredibilitet među igračima i u Hrvatskom teniskom savezu. Svi moramo biti u funkciji naših tenisača u HTS-u. Ovakva je odluka donsena sporazumno, a to kažem jer smo razgovarali dosta dugo i on sam je rekao da je u takvoj atmosferi bolje da on ne putuje", izjavila je Babić.

Onda se medijima obratio najbolji hrvatski igrač Borna Ćorić.

"Drago mi je da sam se oporavio i da mogu otići na Davis Cup. Šest mjeseci, još od Hall3ea se mučim s ozljedama, no zadnja dva mjseca nemam većih problema i odlučili smo da idem u Madrid. Bit će ovo veliki izazov za nas, igra se u novom formatu. Nažalost, nismo u najjačem sastavu, ali borit ćemo se", rekao je Ćorić na početku.

Onda se Ćorić osvrnuo na smjenu izbornika.

"Krajan? Niti Savez niti mi igrači nismo bili zadovoljni s nekim stvarima. Mi smo zato donijeli odluku da idemo sami u Madrid i da nam treba neka promjena".

*Neigranje Karlovića?

''Karlovića nije dugo bilo i to je njegov izbor. Prijavio je challenger u Houstonu, a mi nismo mogli dopustiti da on dođe večer prije prvog meča. Bio je to jedini razlog zbog čega se nismo mogli složiti oko njegovog dolaska.''

Novi izbornik reprezentacije je Franko Škugor.

"Nisu ovo idealni uvjeti, ali igrači su s obzirom na situaciju odlučili da ja budem taj koji će voditi reprezentaciju. Bio je to dogovor među igračima, pitali su me da li bi pristao s obzirom da nisam prijavljen za Madrid i ja sam odgovorio potvrdno. Nisu idealni uvjeti, ali ćemo se boriti. Borna će biti prvi igrač, 21-godišnji Borna Gojo (ATP - 279.) ili 22-godišnji Nino Serdarušić će igrati singl, a kod parova imamo vremena procijeniti koji će igrači nastupiti, ovisno i koliko daleko će dogurati Ivan Dodig u Londonu", kazao je Škugor.
