Rupe, s nekadašnjih tristotinjak stanovnika, bile su trn u oku srbočetničkom okupatoru zbog predanosti toga mjesta hrvatskim i kršćanskim korijenima, pa su ih razorile do temelja. Sjećanja na barbarstva nisu izblijedjela.
Krajem kolovoza te sudbonosne 1991. godine našli smo se u Rupama, koje su nadlijetali neprijateljski helikopteri, a mnoštvo starijih ljudi, žena i djece pripremalo se zadnjim autobusima spasiti glavu u nekom od hotela tada pripremljenih za prihvat prognanika i izbjeglica.
Štitili su ih malobrojni branitelji naoružani puškama i pokojom strojnicom.
Gledali smo kako je jedan momak svoju strojnicu uperio prema helikopteru...
I prošlo je malo vremena kad je okupatorska JNA s pobunjenim Srbima nogom zagazila u Rupe. Nastala su opća pustošenja i razaranja.
Eksplozivom je dignut u zrak zvonik župne crkve sv. Ante, gospodarski objekti, stambene kuće, čak i mala crkva sv. Jurja na mjesnom groblju.
Nijedno okupirano mjesto toga podneblja, Krković, Piramatovci, Sonković, Lađevci, nije doživjelo takva barbarska pustošenja kao Rupe. Rodno mjesto narodnog junaka Vuka Mandušića, kojega je u svojem epu “Gorski vijenac” “posudio” i svojatao Njegoš.
Okupator nikoga u Rupama nije zatekao, pa se osvećivao na svemu što nosi hrvatsko povijesno i kršćansko obilježje.
Tragali su i za povijesnom sabljom Vukovom koja se čuva na obližnjem Visovcu, jer da ona pripada “njima”.
Dogodilo se tako da je neki doveslao do Visovca, gdje su u samostanu još bili franjevci, i tražio da mu dadu sablju “njihova” junaka. Fratri su je jedva uspjeli sačuvati, jer su je iz crkvenog muzeja još ranije skrili.
A kad su se u Rupe, koje smo obišli nakon “Oluje”, počeli vraćati prvi prognanici na svoja opustošena ognjišta, u srušenoj crkvi, čiji je minirani zvonik legao do tla, zatekli smo skupinu žena i djece na dnevnome bogoslužju.
Prolazile su godine, a Rupe su se obnavljale, gotovo iz temelja.
Kao nove sa starim obilježjima, Rupe su bile jedno od najbolje obnovljenih mjesta nakon rata u šibenskome kraju.
I crkva sv. Ante ponovno je zasjala u svojem punom sjaju.•

Rupe, s nekadašnjih tristotinjak stanovnika, bile su trn u oku srbočetničkom okupatoru zbog predanosti toga mjesta hrvatskim i kršćanskim korijenima, pa su ih razorile do temelja. Sjećanja na barbarstva nisu izblijedjela.
Krajem kolovoza te sudbonosne 1991. godine našli smo se u Rupama, koje su nadlijetali neprijateljski helikopteri, a mnoštvo starijih ljudi, žena i djece pripremalo se zadnjim autobusima spasiti glavu u nekom od hotela tada pripremljenih za prihvat prognanika i izbjeglica.
Štitili su ih malobrojni branitelji naoružani puškama i pokojom strojnicom.
Gledali smo kako je jedan momak svoju strojnicu uperio prema helikopteru...
I prošlo je malo vremena kad je okupatorska JNA s pobunjenim Srbima nogom zagazila u Rupe. Nastala su opća pustošenja i razaranja.
Eksplozivom je dignut u zrak zvonik župne crkve sv. Ante, gospodarski objekti, stambene kuće, čak i mala crkva sv. Jurja na mjesnom groblju.
Nijedno okupirano mjesto toga podneblja, Krković, Piramatovci, Sonković, Lađevci, nije doživjelo takva barbarska pustošenja kao Rupe. Rodno mjesto narodnog junaka Vuka Mandušića, kojega je u svojem epu “Gorski vijenac” “posudio” i svojatao Njegoš.
Okupator nikoga u Rupama nije zatekao, pa se osvećivao na svemu što nosi hrvatsko povijesno i kršćansko obilježje.
Tragali su i za povijesnom sabljom Vukovom koja se čuva na obližnjem Visovcu, jer da ona pripada “njima”.
Dogodilo se tako da je neki doveslao do Visovca, gdje su u samostanu još bili franjevci, i tražio da mu dadu sablju “njihova” junaka. Fratri su je jedva uspjeli sačuvati, jer su je iz crkvenog muzeja još ranije skrili.
A kad su se u Rupe, koje smo obišli nakon “Oluje”, počeli vraćati prvi prognanici na svoja opustošena ognjišta, u srušenoj crkvi, čiji je minirani zvonik legao do tla, zatekli smo skupinu žena i djece na dnevnome bogoslužju.
Prolazile su godine, a Rupe su se obnavljale, gotovo iz temelja.
Kao nove sa starim obilježjima, Rupe su bile jedno od najbolje obnovljenih mjesta nakon rata u šibenskome kraju.
I crkva sv. Ante ponovno je zasjala u svojem punom sjaju.•
