Iako broj zaraženih koronavirusom u svijetu i dalje divlja, ne trebamo očekivati scenarij s početka godine, kada su brojne države proglasile lockdown. Toga više neće biti.
Djelovat će se lokalno na trenutačna žarišta, kao što je sad slučaj sa Splitsko-dalmatinskom županijom, gdje se donose rigoroznije mjere Stožera civilne zaštite.
Veliko zaključavanje gospodarskih i društvenih aktivnosti na nacionalnoj razini zauzdalo je epidemiju i srezalo broj zaraženih, no gospodarstvo to više ne bi moglo podnijeti.
Eminentni europski stručnjak koji je također bio zagovornik "zaključavanja" Mark Woolhouse, profesor epidemiologije sa Sveučilišta u Edinburghu i savjetnik britanske vlade za pandemiju koronavirusa, danas kaže da je zaključavanje izazvalo više štete nego koristi.
Bila je to, navodi on, "mjera panike" i jedina opcija u to vrijeme budući da struka nije znala za bilo koje drugo bolje rješenje.
- To je bila privremena mjera koja je jednostavno odgodila stadij epidemije kakvu sada vidimo. Od starta je bilo jasno da će, jednom kada počne popuštanje mjera, početi novo širenje virusa među populacijom. Mislim da će vrijeme pokazati da je naš pokušaj kontrole COVID-a 19 kroz lockdown bila monumentalna globalna pogreška, lijek koji je gori od bolesti. Apsolutno se nikada ne bismo trebali vratiti u položaj u kojem se djeca ne mogu igrati ili ići u školu - naglašava profesor Mark Woolhouse za britanski Express, dodajući da dokazi pokazuju da djeca vrlo rijetko prenose bolest na odrasle.
Suživot s virusom
Woolhouse tvrdi da će se posljedice koje su zaključavanje i karantena nanijeli obrazovanju, zdravstvu i gospodarstvu pokazati jednako štetnima kao i sama bolest COVID-19.
Problem je, kaže, što tijekom svih ovih mjeseci nije pronađena kvalitetna alternativa mjerama karantene i zaključavanja. Drži da trenutačno ljudima veću štetu nanose kolateralni efekti zaključavanja nego sama bolest.
- Treba štititi one kojima je to potrebno, a svima ostalima omogućiti slobodnije življenje - tumači Woolhouse.
Kad je riječ o suživotu s virusom, odnosno borbi protiv zaraze, naveo je nekoliko mjera koje bi trebale biti učinkovite. Prvo se treba fokusirati na mjesta na kojima je rizik najveći, poput staračkih domova, i zaštititi stariju populaciju.
- Škole bi svakako trebalo otvoriti, ali i imati na umu da će sigurno tu vrlo skoro doći do novih žarišta. U tim slučajevima ne treba paničariti, nego hladne glave propisati mjere koje će ta žarišta smiriti - dodaje.
Kao jedino dugoročno rješenje smatra testiranja na bolest, koja su se već pokazala učinkovitima u svijetu sporta. S takvim testiranjima trebao bi se, barem djelomično, riješiti i jedan od najvećih izazova s kojima se susreću epidemiolozi, a to su asimptomatski prenositelji virusa, kojih je najviše među mlađim ljudima. Pri tome misli i na testiranja u školama, čime bi se povećala sigurnost i povjerenje u pri povratku učenika u klupe.
- Testiranja posebno treba primijeniti na zdravstvene djelatnike, zaposlenike u domovima za starije i nemoćne, kao i na učitelje i školama i na fakultetima. Takvo nešto bit će jako skupo, no konačna će cijena biti puno veća ako se ne počne masovno testiranje jer bez toga se život ne može vratiti u relativno normalno stanje - uvjeren je.
Nogometni princip
Posebno je naglasio primjer engleske nogometne lige u kojoj je provedeno oko 40 tisuća testiranja, što se pokazalo uspješnim pa smatra da isti princip treba primijeniti i na obrazovanje i biznis.
Njemačka pak planira ukinuti obavezno testiranje na COVID-19 za putnike koji se vraćaju iz visokorizičnih područja te preusmjeriti svoju strategiju na zaštitu bolnica i staračkih domova. Savezni ministar zdravstva Jens Spahn i pokrajinski ministri zdravstva dogovorili su se da će besplatni testovi za putnike koji se vraćaju iz inozemstva biti ukinuti sredinom rujna, a nakon toga, strategija testiranja u zemlji trebala bi se više fokusirati na sektor skrbi i na bolnice.
Prema novoj politici, oni koji se vrate iz visokorizičnih područja morat će se samoizolirati te mogu napustiti karantenu ako mogu predočiti “negativan rezultat testa najranije pet dana nakon dolaska”.

Iako broj zaraženih koronavirusom u svijetu i dalje divlja, ne trebamo očekivati scenarij s početka godine, kada su brojne države proglasile lockdown. Toga više neće biti.
Djelovat će se lokalno na trenutačna žarišta, kao što je sad slučaj sa Splitsko-dalmatinskom županijom, gdje se donose rigoroznije mjere Stožera civilne zaštite.
Veliko zaključavanje gospodarskih i društvenih aktivnosti na nacionalnoj razini zauzdalo je epidemiju i srezalo broj zaraženih, no gospodarstvo to više ne bi moglo podnijeti.
Eminentni europski stručnjak koji je također bio zagovornik "zaključavanja" Mark Woolhouse, profesor epidemiologije sa Sveučilišta u Edinburghu i savjetnik britanske vlade za pandemiju koronavirusa, danas kaže da je zaključavanje izazvalo više štete nego koristi.
Bila je to, navodi on, "mjera panike" i jedina opcija u to vrijeme budući da struka nije znala za bilo koje drugo bolje rješenje.
- To je bila privremena mjera koja je jednostavno odgodila stadij epidemije kakvu sada vidimo. Od starta je bilo jasno da će, jednom kada počne popuštanje mjera, početi novo širenje virusa među populacijom. Mislim da će vrijeme pokazati da je naš pokušaj kontrole COVID-a 19 kroz lockdown bila monumentalna globalna pogreška, lijek koji je gori od bolesti. Apsolutno se nikada ne bismo trebali vratiti u položaj u kojem se djeca ne mogu igrati ili ići u školu - naglašava profesor Mark Woolhouse za britanski Express, dodajući da dokazi pokazuju da djeca vrlo rijetko prenose bolest na odrasle.
Suživot s virusom
Woolhouse tvrdi da će se posljedice koje su zaključavanje i karantena nanijeli obrazovanju, zdravstvu i gospodarstvu pokazati jednako štetnima kao i sama bolest COVID-19.
Problem je, kaže, što tijekom svih ovih mjeseci nije pronađena kvalitetna alternativa mjerama karantene i zaključavanja. Drži da trenutačno ljudima veću štetu nanose kolateralni efekti zaključavanja nego sama bolest.
- Treba štititi one kojima je to potrebno, a svima ostalima omogućiti slobodnije življenje - tumači Woolhouse.
Kad je riječ o suživotu s virusom, odnosno borbi protiv zaraze, naveo je nekoliko mjera koje bi trebale biti učinkovite. Prvo se treba fokusirati na mjesta na kojima je rizik najveći, poput staračkih domova, i zaštititi stariju populaciju.
- Škole bi svakako trebalo otvoriti, ali i imati na umu da će sigurno tu vrlo skoro doći do novih žarišta. U tim slučajevima ne treba paničariti, nego hladne glave propisati mjere koje će ta žarišta smiriti - dodaje.
Kao jedino dugoročno rješenje smatra testiranja na bolest, koja su se već pokazala učinkovitima u svijetu sporta. S takvim testiranjima trebao bi se, barem djelomično, riješiti i jedan od najvećih izazova s kojima se susreću epidemiolozi, a to su asimptomatski prenositelji virusa, kojih je najviše među mlađim ljudima. Pri tome misli i na testiranja u školama, čime bi se povećala sigurnost i povjerenje u pri povratku učenika u klupe.
- Testiranja posebno treba primijeniti na zdravstvene djelatnike, zaposlenike u domovima za starije i nemoćne, kao i na učitelje i školama i na fakultetima. Takvo nešto bit će jako skupo, no konačna će cijena biti puno veća ako se ne počne masovno testiranje jer bez toga se život ne može vratiti u relativno normalno stanje - uvjeren je.
Nogometni princip
Posebno je naglasio primjer engleske nogometne lige u kojoj je provedeno oko 40 tisuća testiranja, što se pokazalo uspješnim pa smatra da isti princip treba primijeniti i na obrazovanje i biznis.
Njemačka pak planira ukinuti obavezno testiranje na COVID-19 za putnike koji se vraćaju iz visokorizičnih područja te preusmjeriti svoju strategiju na zaštitu bolnica i staračkih domova. Savezni ministar zdravstva Jens Spahn i pokrajinski ministri zdravstva dogovorili su se da će besplatni testovi za putnike koji se vraćaju iz inozemstva biti ukinuti sredinom rujna, a nakon toga, strategija testiranja u zemlji trebala bi se više fokusirati na sektor skrbi i na bolnice.
Prema novoj politici, oni koji se vrate iz visokorizičnih područja morat će se samoizolirati te mogu napustiti karantenu ako mogu predočiti “negativan rezultat testa najranije pet dana nakon dolaska”.
