Misija Aspis, u prijevodu Zaštitnik, trebala bi startati 17. veljače, ali neće sudjelovati sve članice, piše Poslovni dnevnik.

Ministri obrane država članica Europske unije trebali bi na neformalnom sastanku u srijedu dati zeleno svjetlo za pokretanje pomorskih vojnih operacija u Crvenom moru, a na dnevnom redu bi trebala biti i potreba za većom vojnom pomoći Ukrajini.

"Nadam se da će ta misija biti pokrenuta 17. veljače. Neće sve zemlje u njoj sudjelovati, ali nijedna nije protiv", rekao je prije početka sastanka visoki predsjednik EU-a za vanjsku i sigurnu politiku Josep Borrell, prenosi Reuters. Vojna misija zvat će se Aspides, u prijevodu Zaštitnik, i trebala bi štititi brodove u Crvenom moru koje napadaju jemenski hutisti, oružana islamistička militantna skupina s podrškom Irana. Misija bi trebala pružati zaštitu trgovačkim brodovima, ali ne i sudjelovati u vojnim napadima na hutiste.

Borrell je rekao da očekuje da će ministri na sastanku odrediti koja će zemlja zapovijedati misijom i koje će zemlje sa svojim brodovima u njoj sudjelovati. Europske zemlje, naime, protive se da misija bude pod američkim zapovjedništvom. Francuska, Grčka i Italija pokazale su interes za vođenje misije, a sedam zemalja do sada je pokazalo da bi bile spremne poslati pomorska sredstva, rekli su diplomati Reutersu, dodajući da će se ona temeljiti na postojećim misijama EU-a u regiji.

Operacija bi u početku uključivala tri broda pod zapovjedništvom EU-a. Francuska i Italija već imaju ratne brodove u regiji, a Njemačka planira poslati fregatu Hesse u to područje, rekli su diplomati.

Neke procjene govore da gotovo trećina globalnog kontejnerskog prometa prolazi Sueskim kanalom, a poveći dio toga otpada na trgovinu između europskih i azijskih zemalja. Zbog napada je većina svjetskih brodara preusmjerile svoje brodove preko Rta dobre nade produžujući vrijeme transporta za nekoliko tjedana, ali i povećavajući iznos vozarina. Zbog povećanih troškova, ali i neizvjesnosti koliko bi takva sigurnosna situacija mogla potrajati, opravdan je strah od rasta inflacije.

Borrell je također uoči sastanka pozvao da se napravi iscrpan popis vojne pomoći koju su zemlje članice bloka 27 dosad pružile Ukrajini i da konkretno obznane što od pomoći namjeravaju poslati ove godine. "Važno je razjasniti situaciju i znati kako s tim stojimo danas i kako ćemo stajati za tri mjeseca i za godinu dana", rekao je Borrell.

Europska unija je prošle godine obećala da će Ukrajini isporučiti milijun topničkih granata do ožujka ove godine, ali je još daleko od toga cilja, piše Reuters. Do sada je isporučeno manje od trećine, oko 300 tisuća topničkih granata.

Povjerenik za unutarnje tržište Thierry Breton rekao je da će Unija ove godine povećati svoje proizvodne kapacitete i proizvesti oko 1,4 milijuna komada topničkog streljiva.

Ministri će također razgovarati i o sufinanciranju vojne pomoći Ukrajine iz Europskog mirovnog instrumenta (EPF), izvanproračunskog fonda Unije. Do sada je iz toga fonda financirana nabava oružja iz postojećih zaliha država članica, a ubuduće bi se trebala sufinancirati proizvodnja oružja.

Misija Aspis, u prijevodu Zaštitnik, trebala bi startati 17. veljače, ali neće sudjelovati sve članice, piše Poslovni dnevnik.

Ministri obrane država članica Europske unije trebali bi na neformalnom sastanku u srijedu dati zeleno svjetlo za pokretanje pomorskih vojnih operacija u Crvenom moru, a na dnevnom redu bi trebala biti i potreba za većom vojnom pomoći Ukrajini.

"Nadam se da će ta misija biti pokrenuta 17. veljače. Neće sve zemlje u njoj sudjelovati, ali nijedna nije protiv", rekao je prije početka sastanka visoki predsjednik EU-a za vanjsku i sigurnu politiku Josep Borrell, prenosi Reuters. Vojna misija zvat će se Aspides, u prijevodu Zaštitnik, i trebala bi štititi brodove u Crvenom moru koje napadaju jemenski hutisti, oružana islamistička militantna skupina s podrškom Irana. Misija bi trebala pružati zaštitu trgovačkim brodovima, ali ne i sudjelovati u vojnim napadima na hutiste.

Borrell je rekao da očekuje da će ministri na sastanku odrediti koja će zemlja zapovijedati misijom i koje će zemlje sa svojim brodovima u njoj sudjelovati. Europske zemlje, naime, protive se da misija bude pod američkim zapovjedništvom. Francuska, Grčka i Italija pokazale su interes za vođenje misije, a sedam zemalja do sada je pokazalo da bi bile spremne poslati pomorska sredstva, rekli su diplomati Reutersu, dodajući da će se ona temeljiti na postojećim misijama EU-a u regiji.

Operacija bi u početku uključivala tri broda pod zapovjedništvom EU-a. Francuska i Italija već imaju ratne brodove u regiji, a Njemačka planira poslati fregatu Hesse u to područje, rekli su diplomati.

Neke procjene govore da gotovo trećina globalnog kontejnerskog prometa prolazi Sueskim kanalom, a poveći dio toga otpada na trgovinu između europskih i azijskih zemalja. Zbog napada je većina svjetskih brodara preusmjerile svoje brodove preko Rta dobre nade produžujući vrijeme transporta za nekoliko tjedana, ali i povećavajući iznos vozarina. Zbog povećanih troškova, ali i neizvjesnosti koliko bi takva sigurnosna situacija mogla potrajati, opravdan je strah od rasta inflacije.

Borrell je također uoči sastanka pozvao da se napravi iscrpan popis vojne pomoći koju su zemlje članice bloka 27 dosad pružile Ukrajini i da konkretno obznane što od pomoći namjeravaju poslati ove godine. "Važno je razjasniti situaciju i znati kako s tim stojimo danas i kako ćemo stajati za tri mjeseca i za godinu dana", rekao je Borrell.

Europska unija je prošle godine obećala da će Ukrajini isporučiti milijun topničkih granata do ožujka ove godine, ali je još daleko od toga cilja, piše Reuters. Do sada je isporučeno manje od trećine, oko 300 tisuća topničkih granata.

Povjerenik za unutarnje tržište Thierry Breton rekao je da će Unija ove godine povećati svoje proizvodne kapacitete i proizvesti oko 1,4 milijuna komada topničkog streljiva.

Ministri će također razgovarati i o sufinanciranju vojne pomoći Ukrajine iz Europskog mirovnog instrumenta (EPF), izvanproračunskog fonda Unije. Do sada je iz toga fonda financirana nabava oružja iz postojećih zaliha država članica, a ubuduće bi se trebala sufinancirati proizvodnja oružja.

Misija Aspis‘Zaštitnik‘ će štititi brodove u Crvenom moru od napada hutista, u akciju se uključilo sedam država

Misija Aspis, u prijevodu Zaštitnik, trebala bi startati 17. veljače, ali neće sudjelovati sve članice, piše Poslovni dnevnik.

Ministri obrane država članica Europske unije trebali bi na neformalnom sastanku u srijedu dati zeleno svjetlo za pokretanje pomorskih vojnih operacija u Crvenom moru, a na dnevnom redu bi trebala biti i potreba za većom vojnom pomoći Ukrajini.

"Nadam se da će ta misija biti pokrenuta 17. veljače. Neće sve zemlje u njoj sudjelovati, ali nijedna nije protiv", rekao je prije početka sastanka visoki predsjednik EU-a za vanjsku i sigurnu politiku Josep Borrell, prenosi Reuters. Vojna misija zvat će se Aspides, u prijevodu Zaštitnik, i trebala bi štititi brodove u Crvenom moru koje napadaju jemenski hutisti, oružana islamistička militantna skupina s podrškom Irana. Misija bi trebala pružati zaštitu trgovačkim brodovima, ali ne i sudjelovati u vojnim napadima na hutiste.

Borrell je rekao da očekuje da će ministri na sastanku odrediti koja će zemlja zapovijedati misijom i koje će zemlje sa svojim brodovima u njoj sudjelovati. Europske zemlje, naime, protive se da misija bude pod američkim zapovjedništvom. Francuska, Grčka i Italija pokazale su interes za vođenje misije, a sedam zemalja do sada je pokazalo da bi bile spremne poslati pomorska sredstva, rekli su diplomati Reutersu, dodajući da će se ona temeljiti na postojećim misijama EU-a u regiji.

Operacija bi u početku uključivala tri broda pod zapovjedništvom EU-a. Francuska i Italija već imaju ratne brodove u regiji, a Njemačka planira poslati fregatu Hesse u to područje, rekli su diplomati.

Neke procjene govore da gotovo trećina globalnog kontejnerskog prometa prolazi Sueskim kanalom, a poveći dio toga otpada na trgovinu između europskih i azijskih zemalja. Zbog napada je većina svjetskih brodara preusmjerile svoje brodove preko Rta dobre nade produžujući vrijeme transporta za nekoliko tjedana, ali i povećavajući iznos vozarina. Zbog povećanih troškova, ali i neizvjesnosti koliko bi takva sigurnosna situacija mogla potrajati, opravdan je strah od rasta inflacije.
