Izlijevanje nafte koje je poteklo iz najveće sirijske rafinerije raste i širi se Sredozemnim morem, a do otoka Cipra moglo bi stići danas, objavile su lokalne vlasti, a prenosi CNN.

Spremnik s 15.000 tona goriva iscurio je još 23. kolovoza iz termoelektrane u sirijskom obalnom gradu Baniyas. 

Analiza satelitskih snimaka koju je napravio Orbital EOS pokazuje da je izlijevanje nafte bilo veće nego što se prvotno mislilo te da se proteže na područje približno iste veličine kao i grad New York. Tvrtka je za CNN rekla da je naftna mrlja udaljena oko sedam kilometara od ciparske obale.

Fotografije koje kruže društvenim mrežama više od tjedan dana pokazuju naftnu mrlju duž obalnih područja Sirije, a strahuje se od potencijalne prijetnje morskom životu.

Turska je također uključena u sanaciju.

"Poduzimamo potrebne mjere mobiliziranjem svojih resursa kako bismo spriječili svaku mogućnost da se izlijevanje pretvori u ekološku katastrofu", rekao je potpredsjednik Turske Fuat Oktay.

Ovo je drugo veliko izlijevanje nafte u istočnom Mediteranu ove godine. U veljači je izlijevanje nafte uz izraelsku obalu uništilo plaže i ostavilo naslage katrana diljem libanonske obale.

Izlijevanje nafte koje je poteklo iz najveće sirijske rafinerije raste i širi se Sredozemnim morem, a do otoka Cipra moglo bi stići danas, objavile su lokalne vlasti, a prenosi CNN.

Spremnik s 15.000 tona goriva iscurio je još 23. kolovoza iz termoelektrane u sirijskom obalnom gradu Baniyas. 

Analiza satelitskih snimaka koju je napravio Orbital EOS pokazuje da je izlijevanje nafte bilo veće nego što se prvotno mislilo te da se proteže na područje približno iste veličine kao i grad New York. Tvrtka je za CNN rekla da je naftna mrlja udaljena oko sedam kilometara od ciparske obale.

Fotografije koje kruže društvenim mrežama više od tjedan dana pokazuju naftnu mrlju duž obalnih područja Sirije, a strahuje se od potencijalne prijetnje morskom životu.

Turska je također uključena u sanaciju.

"Poduzimamo potrebne mjere mobiliziranjem svojih resursa kako bismo spriječili svaku mogućnost da se izlijevanje pretvori u ekološku katastrofu", rekao je potpredsjednik Turske Fuat Oktay.

Ovo je drugo veliko izlijevanje nafte u istočnom Mediteranu ove godine. U veljači je izlijevanje nafte uz izraelsku obalu uništilo plaže i ostavilo naslage katrana diljem libanonske obale.

Izlijevanje nafte koje je poteklo iz najveće sirijske rafinerije raste i širi se Sredozemnim morem, a do otoka Cipra moglo bi stići danas, objavile su lokalne vlasti, a prenosi CNN.

Spremnik s 15.000 tona goriva iscurio je još 23. kolovoza iz termoelektrane u sirijskom obalnom gradu Baniyas. 

Analiza satelitskih snimaka koju je napravio Orbital EOS pokazuje da je izlijevanje nafte bilo veće nego što se prvotno mislilo te da se proteže na područje približno iste veličine kao i grad New York. Tvrtka je za CNN rekla da je naftna mrlja udaljena oko sedam kilometara od ciparske obale.

Fotografije koje kruže društvenim mrežama više od tjedan dana pokazuju naftnu mrlju duž obalnih područja Sirije, a strahuje se od potencijalne prijetnje morskom životu.

Turska je također uključena u sanaciju.

"Poduzimamo potrebne mjere mobiliziranjem svojih resursa kako bismo spriječili svaku mogućnost da se izlijevanje pretvori u ekološku katastrofu", rekao je potpredsjednik Turske Fuat Oktay.

Ovo je drugo veliko izlijevanje nafte u istočnom Mediteranu ove godine. U veljači je izlijevanje nafte uz izraelsku obalu uništilo plaže i ostavilo naslage katrana diljem libanonske obale.
