U prvoj plovidbi prema Arktiku, ledolomac HMS Protector uspio se približiti Sjevernom polu više od bilo kojeg drugog broda Kraljevske mornarice, piše The Maritime Executive.

Iako samo podmornice mogu ploviti sjevernije od položaja koji je dosegnuo, istraživački brod HMS Protector probio se kroz polarni led na 570 nautičkih milja od "vrha svijeta", prenosi Pomorac.hr.

U svrhu isplovljavanja prema Antarktici na jesen, u siječnju su napravljeni najveći popravci i pregledi, a s obzirom na to da HMS Protector više od dvije godine nije bio u doticaju s ledom, snaga motora broda je testirana u južnoj Norveškoj.

Brod je testiran na različitim dubinama i vrstama leda uz pomoć znanstvenika, inženjera i savjetnika iz Ministarstva obrane i britanskog antarktičkog istraživačkog društva (BAS). U pomoć su priskočili i časnici Kraljevske mornarice koji su plovili Arktikom te stručnjak iz američke obalne straže.

”Istraživanje i upoznavanje jednog od najnevjerojatnijih dijelova planeta bila je fantastična prilika kojom se potvrdila sposobnost Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva da djeluje na Arktiku. Tim se odlično prilagodio uvjetima i temperaturama te dokazao da može raditi svoj posao i u najekstremnijim sredinama”, izjavio je kapetan Michael Wood.

HMS Protector priprema se za skori povratak u južni dio Antarktika, a kapetan je naglasio važnost očuvanja netaknutog kontinenta i utjecaja klimatskih promjena.

U prvoj plovidbi prema Arktiku, ledolomac HMS Protector uspio se približiti Sjevernom polu više od bilo kojeg drugog broda Kraljevske mornarice, piše The Maritime Executive.

Iako samo podmornice mogu ploviti sjevernije od položaja koji je dosegnuo, istraživački brod HMS Protector probio se kroz polarni led na 570 nautičkih milja od "vrha svijeta", prenosi Pomorac.hr.

U svrhu isplovljavanja prema Antarktici na jesen, u siječnju su napravljeni najveći popravci i pregledi, a s obzirom na to da HMS Protector više od dvije godine nije bio u doticaju s ledom, snaga motora broda je testirana u južnoj Norveškoj.

Brod je testiran na različitim dubinama i vrstama leda uz pomoć znanstvenika, inženjera i savjetnika iz Ministarstva obrane i britanskog antarktičkog istraživačkog društva (BAS). U pomoć su priskočili i časnici Kraljevske mornarice koji su plovili Arktikom te stručnjak iz američke obalne straže.

”Istraživanje i upoznavanje jednog od najnevjerojatnijih dijelova planeta bila je fantastična prilika kojom se potvrdila sposobnost Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva da djeluje na Arktiku. Tim se odlično prilagodio uvjetima i temperaturama te dokazao da može raditi svoj posao i u najekstremnijim sredinama”, izjavio je kapetan Michael Wood.

HMS Protector priprema se za skori povratak u južni dio Antarktika, a kapetan je naglasio važnost očuvanja netaknutog kontinenta i utjecaja klimatskih promjena.

U prvoj plovidbi prema Arktiku, ledolomac HMS Protector uspio se približiti Sjevernom polu više od bilo kojeg drugog broda Kraljevske mornarice, piše The Maritime Executive.

Iako samo podmornice mogu ploviti sjevernije od položaja koji je dosegnuo, istraživački brod HMS Protector probio se kroz polarni led na 570 nautičkih milja od "vrha svijeta", prenosi Pomorac.hr.

U svrhu isplovljavanja prema Antarktici na jesen, u siječnju su napravljeni najveći popravci i pregledi, a s obzirom na to da HMS Protector više od dvije godine nije bio u doticaju s ledom, snaga motora broda je testirana u južnoj Norveškoj.

Brod je testiran na različitim dubinama i vrstama leda uz pomoć znanstvenika, inženjera i savjetnika iz Ministarstva obrane i britanskog antarktičkog istraživačkog društva (BAS). U pomoć su priskočili i časnici Kraljevske mornarice koji su plovili Arktikom te stručnjak iz američke obalne straže.

”Istraživanje i upoznavanje jednog od najnevjerojatnijih dijelova planeta bila je fantastična prilika kojom se potvrdila sposobnost Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva da djeluje na Arktiku. Tim se odlično prilagodio uvjetima i temperaturama te dokazao da može raditi svoj posao i u najekstremnijim sredinama”, izjavio je kapetan Michael Wood.

HMS Protector priprema se za skori povratak u južni dio Antarktika, a kapetan je naglasio važnost očuvanja netaknutog kontinenta i utjecaja klimatskih promjena.
