Gradovi na Mediteranu na udaru su suša, požara, toplinskih valova i nestašice vode pa je potrebna suradnja svih zemalja u tom području kako bi se suzbile posljedice klimatskih promjena, upozorio je u utorak zamjenik glavnog tajnika Unije za Mediteran (UfM) u tekstu poslanom Hini.

"Za stanovnike mediteranskog bazena to je alarmantno. Osim što je regija izuzetno osjetljiva na klimatske promjene, također ima jednu od najbržih stopa urbanizacije na svijetu", istaknuo je Erdal Sabri Ergen, zadužen za promet i urbani razvoj u UfM-u.

Turski diplomat Sabri Ergen, koji će u četvrtak sudjelovati u Zagrebu na 3. ministarskoj konferenciji Unije za Mediteran o održivom urbanom razvoju, najavio je događaj tekstom pod naslovom "Zeleni gradovi spašavat će živote".

"Gradovi u mediteranskoj regiji već su opasno izloženi utjecajima klimatskih promjena, uključujući nestašice vode, suše, šumske požare i toplinske valove. Osim toga, suočavaju se s rastućim prijetnjama porasta razine mora, obalnih poplava i oluja", naveo je.

Posljednjih tjedana suše i požari bjesne u Španjolskoj, Portugalu i Francuskoj gdje su temperature na razini srpanjskih. Mediteransko more i njegove obale zagrijavaju se 20 posto brže od svjetskog prosjeka, pa je to nakon Arktika na sjeveru drugo najugroženije područje, podatak je Unije za Mediteran (UfM).

"Zbog toga pozivamo na energičniju međunarodnu suradnju kako bi se potaknuo održivi razvoj, pri čemu gradovi moraju biti u središtu djelovanja", dodao je Sabri Ergen.

Unija za Mediteran, međuvladina organizacija sa sjedištem u Barceloni, obuhvaća sve zemlje Europske unije te države južnog i istočnog Sredozemlja, njih ukupno 43.

Unija za Mediteran je prije pet godina predstavila svoju urbanu agendu, a kako bi se ispunili ciljevi iz nje lansirala je akcijski plan. On je okvir kojeg bi se trebale držati sve zemlje u provođenju politika za smanjenje zagađenosti gradova i podmorja, gradnje energetski učinkovitih nastambi, osiguranja vode građanima, očuvanja povijesnih znamenitosti te provođenja održivog turizma.

"Gledajući prema naprijed, zemlje UfM-a krenule su u provedbu ambicioznog akcijskog plana za daljnji napredak održivog urbanog razvoja u regiji. Mjerenje napretka bit će ključno, a kao dio ‘Strateškog akcijskog plana urbanog razvoja 2040‘., uspostavili smo pokazatelje za praćenje i izvješćivanje o postignutom napretku", poručio je Sabri Ergen.

Urbana područja pokrivaju tek 2 posto svjetskog kopna no ona proizvode 70 posto globalnih emisija stakleničkih plinova i koriste 78 posto svjetske energije.

"Naši gradovi ostavljaju ogroman trag na okoliš", naglasio je Sabri Ergen.

Napominje da je više koristi od održivog urbanog razvoja. Zdravstvena organizacija ISGlobal procjenjuje da bi gradovi u Europi mogli spriječiti do 43.000 preuranjenih smrti svake godine kada bi slijedili preporuke Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) o pristupu zelenim površinama.

"Kroz nedavnu suradnju s WHO-om promičemo zdravije i ugodnije gradove kojima je dobrobit njihovih stanovnika prioritet", naveo je Sabri Ergen.

"Učinak ovog partnerstva bit će istaknut tijekom ministarske konferencije u Zagrebu u četvrtak", dodao je.

Konferenciji bi trebali nazočiti hrvatski premijer Andrej Plenković, europska povjerenica za EU fondove Elisa Ferreira i glavni tajnik UfM-a Nasser Kamel, kao i hrvatski ministar prostornog uređenja Branko Bačić.

Sabri Ergan kaže da će jedno od ključnih područja rasprave biti nedostatak energetske učinkovitosti u zgradama.

"Danas zgrade i konstrukcije stvaraju 37 posto emisija stakleničkih plinova povezanih s energijom. To nas udaljava od ostvarenja ambicioznog cilja potpune dekarbonizacije do 2050. jer će se do tada globalna potrošnja energije u građevinskom sektoru udvostručiti a potreba za hlađenjem u zgradama utrostručiti", upozorio je.

Gradovi na Mediteranu na udaru su suša, požara, toplinskih valova i nestašice vode pa je potrebna suradnja svih zemalja u tom području kako bi se suzbile posljedice klimatskih promjena, upozorio je u utorak zamjenik glavnog tajnika Unije za Mediteran (UfM) u tekstu poslanom Hini.

"Za stanovnike mediteranskog bazena to je alarmantno. Osim što je regija izuzetno osjetljiva na klimatske promjene, također ima jednu od najbržih stopa urbanizacije na svijetu", istaknuo je Erdal Sabri Ergen, zadužen za promet i urbani razvoj u UfM-u.

Turski diplomat Sabri Ergen, koji će u četvrtak sudjelovati u Zagrebu na 3. ministarskoj konferenciji Unije za Mediteran o održivom urbanom razvoju, najavio je događaj tekstom pod naslovom "Zeleni gradovi spašavat će živote".

"Gradovi u mediteranskoj regiji već su opasno izloženi utjecajima klimatskih promjena, uključujući nestašice vode, suše, šumske požare i toplinske valove. Osim toga, suočavaju se s rastućim prijetnjama porasta razine mora, obalnih poplava i oluja", naveo je.

Posljednjih tjedana suše i požari bjesne u Španjolskoj, Portugalu i Francuskoj gdje su temperature na razini srpanjskih. Mediteransko more i njegove obale zagrijavaju se 20 posto brže od svjetskog prosjeka, pa je to nakon Arktika na sjeveru drugo najugroženije područje, podatak je Unije za Mediteran (UfM).

"Zbog toga pozivamo na energičniju međunarodnu suradnju kako bi se potaknuo održivi razvoj, pri čemu gradovi moraju biti u središtu djelovanja", dodao je Sabri Ergen.

Unija za Mediteran, međuvladina organizacija sa sjedištem u Barceloni, obuhvaća sve zemlje Europske unije te države južnog i istočnog Sredozemlja, njih ukupno 43.

Unija za Mediteran je prije pet godina predstavila svoju urbanu agendu, a kako bi se ispunili ciljevi iz nje lansirala je akcijski plan. On je okvir kojeg bi se trebale držati sve zemlje u provođenju politika za smanjenje zagađenosti gradova i podmorja, gradnje energetski učinkovitih nastambi, osiguranja vode građanima, očuvanja povijesnih znamenitosti te provođenja održivog turizma.

"Gledajući prema naprijed, zemlje UfM-a krenule su u provedbu ambicioznog akcijskog plana za daljnji napredak održivog urbanog razvoja u regiji. Mjerenje napretka bit će ključno, a kao dio ‘Strateškog akcijskog plana urbanog razvoja 2040‘., uspostavili smo pokazatelje za praćenje i izvješćivanje o postignutom napretku", poručio je Sabri Ergen.

Urbana područja pokrivaju tek 2 posto svjetskog kopna no ona proizvode 70 posto globalnih emisija stakleničkih plinova i koriste 78 posto svjetske energije.

"Naši gradovi ostavljaju ogroman trag na okoliš", naglasio je Sabri Ergen.

Napominje da je više koristi od održivog urbanog razvoja. Zdravstvena organizacija ISGlobal procjenjuje da bi gradovi u Europi mogli spriječiti do 43.000 preuranjenih smrti svake godine kada bi slijedili preporuke Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO) o pristupu zelenim površinama.

"Kroz nedavnu suradnju s WHO-om promičemo zdravije i ugodnije gradove kojima je dobrobit njihovih stanovnika prioritet", naveo je Sabri Ergen.

"Učinak ovog partnerstva bit će istaknut tijekom ministarske konferencije u Zagrebu u četvrtak", dodao je.

Konferenciji bi trebali nazočiti hrvatski premijer Andrej Plenković, europska povjerenica za EU fondove Elisa Ferreira i glavni tajnik UfM-a Nasser Kamel, kao i hrvatski ministar prostornog uređenja Branko Bačić.

Sabri Ergan kaže da će jedno od ključnih područja rasprave biti nedostatak energetske učinkovitosti u zgradama.

"Danas zgrade i konstrukcije stvaraju 37 posto emisija stakleničkih plinova povezanih s energijom. To nas udaljava od ostvarenja ambicioznog cilja potpune dekarbonizacije do 2050. jer će se do tada globalna potrošnja energije u građevinskom sektoru udvostručiti a potreba za hlađenjem u zgradama utrostručiti", upozorio je.

Gradovi na Mediteranu na udaru su suša, požara, toplinskih valova i nestašice vode pa je potrebna suradnja svih zemalja u tom području kako bi se suzbile posljedice klimatskih promjena, upozorio je u utorak zamjenik glavnog tajnika Unije za Mediteran (UfM) u tekstu poslanom Hini.

"Za stanovnike mediteranskog bazena to je alarmantno. Osim što je regija izuzetno osjetljiva na klimatske promjene, također ima jednu od najbržih stopa urbanizacije na svijetu", istaknuo je Erdal Sabri Ergen, zadužen za promet i urbani razvoj u UfM-u.

Turski diplomat Sabri Ergen, koji će u četvrtak sudjelovati u Zagrebu na 3. ministarskoj konferenciji Unije za Mediteran o održivom urbanom razvoju, najavio je događaj tekstom pod naslovom "Zeleni gradovi spašavat će živote".

"Gradovi u mediteranskoj regiji već su opasno izloženi utjecajima klimatskih promjena, uključujući nestašice vode, suše, šumske požare i toplinske valove. Osim toga, suočavaju se s rastućim prijetnjama porasta razine mora, obalnih poplava i oluja", naveo je.

Posljednjih tjedana suše i požari bjesne u Španjolskoj, Portugalu i Francuskoj gdje su temperature na razini srpanjskih.
