When a person wishes to run away from everything and everyone, the first thought that comes is to go to an island, and an uninhabited one if possible and as far as possible.

In order to make that dream come true one does not need to sail away for miles far from civilization for the islets of Krknjaš veli and Krknjaš mali are under the administration of Trogir. According to the what the lucky ones who had the opportunity of staying there for at least one day said- they are heaven on earth. And no wonder when being by the crystal clear sea in the bay of Krknjaši, also known as the Blue Lagoon, which these islets form with the neighboring island of Drvenik. Since the nature is intact, the beaches are wild but with natural shallow entrances into the sea, making them all the more attractive.

Krknjaš veli is at a distance of 600 meters from Drvenika veli. Indigenous sailors know that sailing from Krknjaš Veli to the south one enters the Šolta Channel, and sailing east the Split Channel. Precisely because of the blue sea, they attract many boaters, especially since between these two islands and Drvenik Veli, actually on its eastern side, there is Krknjaši anchorage.

Those who have not procured food on time do not need to fear of remaining hungry for there is a restaurant on the shores Drvenik. Even though tiny in surface (Veli 96.961 m2, and Mali 33.281m2) registered as islets, they are very attractive due to pinewoods where camping is possible. Both Krknjaš islets fulfill the second condition mentioned above – they are uninhabited and not crowded by tourists and thus the nightmare of numerous bathers is avoided and no tight rows of towels or, God forbid, deck chairs.

The general public is less aware of the additional attractiveness of the island. It is known to hunters since both islets are covered by a hunting ground known as "Veli and Mali Drvenik", for which a concession is issued. Thus county hunters have the possibility to enjoy the delicacies of cooked hare and pheasant meat, but under the condition of being caught first.

When a person wishes to run away from everything and everyone, the first thought that comes is to go to an island, and an uninhabited one if possible and as far as possible.

In order to make that dream come true one does not need to sail away for miles far from civilization for the islets of Krknjaš veli and Krknjaš mali are under the administration of Trogir. According to the what the lucky ones who had the opportunity of staying there for at least one day said- they are heaven on earth. And no wonder when being by the crystal clear sea in the bay of Krknjaši, also known as the Blue Lagoon, which these islets form with the neighboring island of Drvenik. Since the nature is intact, the beaches are wild but with natural shallow entrances into the sea, making them all the more attractive.

Krknjaš veli is at a distance of 600 meters from Drvenika veli. Indigenous sailors know that sailing from Krknjaš Veli to the south one enters the Šolta Channel, and sailing east the Split Channel. Precisely because of the blue sea, they attract many boaters, especially since between these two islands and Drvenik Veli, actually on its eastern side, there is Krknjaši anchorage.

Those who have not procured food on time do not need to fear of remaining hungry for there is a restaurant on the shores Drvenik. Even though tiny in surface (Veli 96.961 m2, and Mali 33.281m2) registered as islets, they are very attractive due to pinewoods where camping is possible. Both Krknjaš islets fulfill the second condition mentioned above – they are uninhabited and not crowded by tourists and thus the nightmare of numerous bathers is avoided and no tight rows of towels or, God forbid, deck chairs.

The general public is less aware of the additional attractiveness of the island. It is known to hunters since both islets are covered by a hunting ground known as "Veli and Mali Drvenik", for which a concession is issued. Thus county hunters have the possibility to enjoy the delicacies of cooked hare and pheasant meat, but under the condition of being caught first.

A blue lagoon one step away from Trogir

When a person wishes to run away from everything and everyone, the first thought that comes is to go to an island, and an uninhabited one if possible and as far as possible.

In order to make that dream come true one does not need to sail away for miles far from civilization for the islets of Krknjaš veli and Krknjaš mali are under the administration of Trogir. According to the what the lucky ones who had the opportunity of staying there for at least one day said- they are heaven on earth. And no wonder when being by the crystal clear sea in the bay of Krknjaši, also known as the Blue Lagoon, which these islets form with the neighboring island of Drvenik. Since the nature is intact, the beaches are wild but with natural shallow entrances into the sea, making them all the more attractive.

Krknjaš veli is at a distance of 600 meters from Drvenika veli. Indigenous sailors know that sailing from Krknjaš Veli to the south one enters the Šolta Channel, and sailing east the Split Channel. Precisely because of the blue sea, they attract many boaters, especially since between these two islands and Drvenik Veli, actually on its eastern side, there is Krknjaši anchorage.

Those who have not procured food on time do not need to fear of remaining hungry for there is a restaurant on the shores Drvenik. Even though tiny in surface (Veli 96.961 m2, and Mali 33.281m2) registered as islets, they are very attractive due to pinewoods where camping is possible. Both Krknjaš islets fulfill the second condition mentioned above – they are uninhabited and not crowded by tourists and thus the nightmare of numerous bathers is avoided and no tight rows of towels or, God forbid, deck chairs.

The general public is less aware of the additional attractiveness of the island. It is known to hunters since both islets are covered by a hunting ground known as "Veli and Mali Drvenik", for which a concession is issued. Thus county hunters have the possibility to enjoy the delicacies of cooked hare and pheasant meat, but under the condition of being caught first.
