Sredovječna melankolija lika Emme Thompson u divnoj romantičnoj komediji “Zapravo ljubav” bila je opipljiva i srceparateljska. Glumica je perfektno prenijela sve emocije kad je potiho plakala doznavši da je suprug vara i suzama potopila gotovo sve životne lađe, ali i pronašla snage za daljnju plovidbu.

“Sretno, Leo Grande” (“Good Luck To You, Leo Grande”) redateljice Sophie Hyde nije romantična komedija, niti nastavak “Love Actually”, no Emma naizgled nastavlja tamo gdje je stala kao Karen, pa i njezina medicinska sestra Kate spremna na seks s visokim Jeffom Goldblumom iz filma “The Tall Guy” s početka karijere.

Na neki način Thompson radi puni krug, a glumičina izvedba je svakako “zaokružujuća”, ponajbolja iz njezine bogate karijere u filmu koji je napokon stigao na hrvatsko “online” videotržište. Emma se nalazi u ulozi Nancy Stokes, konzervativne umirovljene učiteljice vjeronauka i udovice.

Pravog prezimena Robinson, simbolički da film parafrazira stariju gospođu iz “Diplomca”, Nancy odluči probuditi u sebi godinama zatomljenu seksualnost i angažira mladog seksualnog radnika Lea Grandea (solidni Daryl McCormack; “Peaky Blinders”). Imala je samo jednog seksualnog partnera, nije nikad doživjela orgazam, niti iskusila oralni seks i pozu 69. Vrijeme je za nadoknadu.

Međutim, konzervativna kakva jest, Nancy se premišlja, nećka i zamalo odustaje, jer joj ideja da “unajmi” (mlađeg) muškarca najednom zvuči kontroverzno i eksploatacijski. “Nikad nisam napravila nešto ovako”, govori Nancy. “Nisi me kupila, nego moju uslugu, ne osjećam se eksploatiran”, uvjerava je Leo i jamči “sjajno ćemo se provesti”, izgledajući kao savršeni primjerak muškog roda, na trenutke gotovo kao robot.

Leo i Nancy su praktički jedini likovi filma koji se odvija na jednoj lokaciji; pratimo nekoliko njihovih “sastanaka” u hotelskoj sobi. Zvuči kao kazališna predstava? Da, ali “Sretno, Leo Grande” je sve samo ne teatralan, iako bi se mogao postaviti na kazališnim daskama.

Hotelska soba je promotrena iz raznih kutova zahvaljujući snimatelju Bryanu Masonu, a glumačka međuigra neusiljena zaslugom prirodnih dijaloga i izvedbi glumaca dobre kemije zainteresiranih ponajprije za ljudske interakcije, tek nakratko silom izvojevana kad redateljica ubaci jednu konfliktnu situaciju zbog narušavanja izgrađenog povjerenja.

Naravno, seksa ima, kao i potpaljivanja Nancyne unutarnje vatre, ali razgovori su interesantniji. Združeni s ugođajnom glazbom Stephena Rennicksa, razgovori o seksu, seksualnosti, požudi, intimi, starenju, razočaranjima i nadanjima, životu uopće pozicioniraju film i kao rijetku egzistencijalnu dramu o starijoj ženi koja je zbog društvenih konvencija bila uskraćena za tračak užitka, avanture i slobode, življenja kao takvog, stoga je ovo njezin “posljednji pokušaj života”.

U nekima od najboljih scena Nancy se rasplače kad joj se prošlost zavrti pred očima ili se prisjeća kratkotrajnog seksualnog buđenja u Grčkoj. Thompson se hrabro tjelesno razgolitila i u jednom trenutku stoji naga pred ogledalom i gleda u svoje tijelo, ali još je impresivnija njezina emotivna razgolićenost. “Good Luck To You, Leo Grande” je ponajprije film o emotivnom striptizu jedne žene.

Sredovječna melankolija lika Emme Thompson u divnoj romantičnoj komediji “Zapravo ljubav” bila je opipljiva i srceparateljska. Glumica je perfektno prenijela sve emocije kad je potiho plakala doznavši da je suprug vara i suzama potopila gotovo sve životne lađe, ali i pronašla snage za daljnju plovidbu.

“Sretno, Leo Grande” (“Good Luck To You, Leo Grande”) redateljice Sophie Hyde nije romantična komedija, niti nastavak “Love Actually”, no Emma naizgled nastavlja tamo gdje je stala kao Karen, pa i njezina medicinska sestra Kate spremna na seks s visokim Jeffom Goldblumom iz filma “The Tall Guy” s početka karijere.

Na neki način Thompson radi puni krug, a glumičina izvedba je svakako “zaokružujuća”, ponajbolja iz njezine bogate karijere u filmu koji je napokon stigao na hrvatsko “online” videotržište. Emma se nalazi u ulozi Nancy Stokes, konzervativne umirovljene učiteljice vjeronauka i udovice.

Pravog prezimena Robinson, simbolički da film parafrazira stariju gospođu iz “Diplomca”, Nancy odluči probuditi u sebi godinama zatomljenu seksualnost i angažira mladog seksualnog radnika Lea Grandea (solidni Daryl McCormack; “Peaky Blinders”). Imala je samo jednog seksualnog partnera, nije nikad doživjela orgazam, niti iskusila oralni seks i pozu 69. Vrijeme je za nadoknadu.

Međutim, konzervativna kakva jest, Nancy se premišlja, nećka i zamalo odustaje, jer joj ideja da “unajmi” (mlađeg) muškarca najednom zvuči kontroverzno i eksploatacijski. “Nikad nisam napravila nešto ovako”, govori Nancy. “Nisi me kupila, nego moju uslugu, ne osjećam se eksploatiran”, uvjerava je Leo i jamči “sjajno ćemo se provesti”, izgledajući kao savršeni primjerak muškog roda, na trenutke gotovo kao robot.

Leo i Nancy su praktički jedini likovi filma koji se odvija na jednoj lokaciji; pratimo nekoliko njihovih “sastanaka” u hotelskoj sobi. Zvuči kao kazališna predstava? Da, ali “Sretno, Leo Grande” je sve samo ne teatralan, iako bi se mogao postaviti na kazališnim daskama.

Hotelska soba je promotrena iz raznih kutova zahvaljujući snimatelju Bryanu Masonu, a glumačka međuigra neusiljena zaslugom prirodnih dijaloga i izvedbi glumaca dobre kemije zainteresiranih ponajprije za ljudske interakcije, tek nakratko silom izvojevana kad redateljica ubaci jednu konfliktnu situaciju zbog narušavanja izgrađenog povjerenja.

Naravno, seksa ima, kao i potpaljivanja Nancyne unutarnje vatre, ali razgovori su interesantniji. Združeni s ugođajnom glazbom Stephena Rennicksa, razgovori o seksu, seksualnosti, požudi, intimi, starenju, razočaranjima i nadanjima, životu uopće pozicioniraju film i kao rijetku egzistencijalnu dramu o starijoj ženi koja je zbog društvenih konvencija bila uskraćena za tračak užitka, avanture i slobode, življenja kao takvog, stoga je ovo njezin “posljednji pokušaj života”.

U nekima od najboljih scena Nancy se rasplače kad joj se prošlost zavrti pred očima ili se prisjeća kratkotrajnog seksualnog buđenja u Grčkoj. Thompson se hrabro tjelesno razgolitila i u jednom trenutku stoji naga pred ogledalom i gleda u svoje tijelo, ali još je impresivnija njezina emotivna razgolićenost. “Good Luck To You, Leo Grande” je ponajprije film o emotivnom striptizu jedne žene.
