Javna ustanova za upravljanje zaštićenim dijelovima prirode Dubrovačko-neretvanske županije sudjelovala je u svjetskom prebrojavanju ptičjih vrsta vlažnih, slatkovodnih i morskih staništa u području delte rijeke Neretve, u suradnji s Ornitološkim društvom Brkata sjenica iz Metkovića i volonterkom iz obrta za usluge NeretvaZoom.

International Waterbird Census (IWC) dugogodišnji je projekt svjetskog prebrojavanja ptica vodarica kojeg organizira Wetlands International, svjetska organizacija za zaštitu vlažnih područja. Cilj mu je postizanje boljeg razumijevanja ugroženosti vrsta i njihovih staništa kroz kontinuirano praćenje brojnosti ptica na vodenim površinama. Uspoređivanjem brojnosti iz prethodnih godina procjenjuje se status populacija i pojedinih vrsta. Ti podaci pomažu u identifikaciji međunarodno važnih vlažnih staništa te donošenju brojnih odluka o zaštiti ptica, kako na međunarodnim, tako i na nacionalnim i lokalnim razinama.

Vodarice su sve ugroženija skupina ptica, prvenstveno zbog uništavanja vlažnih staništa širom svijeta. Siječanj je pogodan za prebrojavanje vodarica jer se smatra da su do tada sve ptice vodarice na svojim zimovalištima, gdje im je koncentracija najveća, a nisu još započele proljetnu migraciju.

Ovo je najstariji i najveći program monitoringa bioraznolikosti na svijetu, te ujedno i najveći projekt građanske znanosti. Provodi se od 1967. godine, a Hrvatska u njemu sudjeluje od 1982. godine. Akcija isključivo ovisi o volonterima svih uzrasta i razina znanja koji svojom motiviranošću omogućuju da se velik broj lokacija posjeti i još veći broj ptica prebroji svake godine.

Nacionalni koordinator odgovoran za slanje podataka je Hrvatsko društvo za zaštitu ptica i prirode. Regionalno djeluju još četiri koordinatora (iz udruga Biom i ZEUS te tvrtke Geonatura) koji su zaduženi za koordinaciju volontera i prebrojavanja na svom području, te su dostupni za podršku i dodatne informacije.

U Dubrovačko-neretvanskoj županiji najpoznatija i najvrjednija staništa ptica vodarica su u dolini rijeke Neretve, jednom od najvažnijih zimovališta tih vrsta u Hrvatskoj. Ove godine prebrojano je više od 11 tisuća jedinki različitih vrsta vodarica, od toga više od 40 vrsta ptica. Najzastupljenije vrste bile su riječni galeb i galeb klaukavac, zatim patka zviždara, divlja patka, mali gnjurac, mali i veliki vranac, liska, eja močvarica. Prebrojane su rijetke vrste kao što su: crnogrli gnjurac, crnogrli plijenor, crvenogrli plijenor, crvenonoga prutka, krivokljuna prutka, zlatar pijukavac, veliki pozvizdač, žalar cirikavac, vivak, mali ronac, te devet vrsta pataka od kojih se isticala patka kreketaljka.

Brojnost patki ove godine bila je nešto manja nego prijašnjih godina, najvjerojatnije zbog do sada blage zime.

Zanimljivost je zimovanje čaplje govedarice u Neretvi (70 jedinki) koja je tu počela zimovati prošle godine zbog utjecaja globalnog zatopljenja.

Javna ustanova za upravljanje zaštićenim dijelovima prirode Dubrovačko-neretvanske županije sudjelovala je u svjetskom prebrojavanju ptičjih vrsta vlažnih, slatkovodnih i morskih staništa u području delte rijeke Neretve, u suradnji s Ornitološkim društvom Brkata sjenica iz Metkovića i volonterkom iz obrta za usluge NeretvaZoom.

International Waterbird Census (IWC) dugogodišnji je projekt svjetskog prebrojavanja ptica vodarica kojeg organizira Wetlands International, svjetska organizacija za zaštitu vlažnih područja. Cilj mu je postizanje boljeg razumijevanja ugroženosti vrsta i njihovih staništa kroz kontinuirano praćenje brojnosti ptica na vodenim površinama. Uspoređivanjem brojnosti iz prethodnih godina procjenjuje se status populacija i pojedinih vrsta. Ti podaci pomažu u identifikaciji međunarodno važnih vlažnih staništa te donošenju brojnih odluka o zaštiti ptica, kako na međunarodnim, tako i na nacionalnim i lokalnim razinama.

Vodarice su sve ugroženija skupina ptica, prvenstveno zbog uništavanja vlažnih staništa širom svijeta. Siječanj je pogodan za prebrojavanje vodarica jer se smatra da su do tada sve ptice vodarice na svojim zimovalištima, gdje im je koncentracija najveća, a nisu još započele proljetnu migraciju.

Ovo je najstariji i najveći program monitoringa bioraznolikosti na svijetu, te ujedno i najveći projekt građanske znanosti. Provodi se od 1967. godine, a Hrvatska u njemu sudjeluje od 1982. godine. Akcija isključivo ovisi o volonterima svih uzrasta i razina znanja koji svojom motiviranošću omogućuju da se velik broj lokacija posjeti i još veći broj ptica prebroji svake godine.

Nacionalni koordinator odgovoran za slanje podataka je Hrvatsko društvo za zaštitu ptica i prirode. Regionalno djeluju još četiri koordinatora (iz udruga Biom i ZEUS te tvrtke Geonatura) koji su zaduženi za koordinaciju volontera i prebrojavanja na svom području, te su dostupni za podršku i dodatne informacije.

U Dubrovačko-neretvanskoj županiji najpoznatija i najvrjednija staništa ptica vodarica su u dolini rijeke Neretve, jednom od najvažnijih zimovališta tih vrsta u Hrvatskoj. Ove godine prebrojano je više od 11 tisuća jedinki različitih vrsta vodarica, od toga više od 40 vrsta ptica. Najzastupljenije vrste bile su riječni galeb i galeb klaukavac, zatim patka zviždara, divlja patka, mali gnjurac, mali i veliki vranac, liska, eja močvarica. Prebrojane su rijetke vrste kao što su: crnogrli gnjurac, crnogrli plijenor, crvenogrli plijenor, crvenonoga prutka, krivokljuna prutka, zlatar pijukavac, veliki pozvizdač, žalar cirikavac, vivak, mali ronac, te devet vrsta pataka od kojih se isticala patka kreketaljka.

Brojnost patki ove godine bila je nešto manja nego prijašnjih godina, najvjerojatnije zbog do sada blage zime.

Zanimljivost je zimovanje čaplje govedarice u Neretvi (70 jedinki) koja je tu počela zimovati prošle godine zbog utjecaja globalnog zatopljenja.
