Nakon više od desetljeća suspenzije, Sirija bi uskoro trebala biti ponovo primljena u Arapsku ligu. To su prošlog vikenda u Kairu odlučili ministri vanjskih poslova zemalja članica. Time će se blagosloviti povratak na međunarodnu scenu države koja je, prema brojnim međunarodnim izvješćima, više puta terećena za najteža moguća kršenja građanskih i ljudskih prava. U sirijskom građanskom ratu režim je optuživan za zloporabu otrovnih plinova i drugog kemijskog oružja te za brojna druga kršenja međunarodnih konvencija, piše Slobodna Dalmacija.

Kao bliska ruska saveznica, Sirija je pod režimom Bašara al-Asada branila njegovu vlast mnogim dopuštenim i nedopuštenim sredstvima. UN se prije nepunih mjesec dana pozvao na valjane razloge koji upućuju da je iza napada kemijskim oružjem na Dumu 2018., u kojemu je poginulo više od 40 civila, stajao Asadov aparat. Sirijski program kemijskog oružja razvijan je i nakon što je država prihvatila međunarodne konvencije koje ga zabranjuju. Režim je u deset godina, od 2012. do 2022., izveo ukupno 217 napada kemijskim oružjem. Najmanje 1500 ljudi je poginulo u tim napadima, uključujući 205 djece i 260 žena, a ozlijeđeno je preko 12 tisuća.

Sirijski diktator koristio je masovno protiv vlastitih građana i tzv. bačvaste bombe. U prvih devet godina rata bacio je gotovo 82.000 takvih bombi. Zbog njihova razornog, ali nepreciznog učinka, one slove za posebno okrutne i zabranjene su među civiliziranim narodima. Njima je ubijeno najmanje 11 tisuća civila u Siriji, te više od 1800 djece.

Osim za ubojstva, međunarodni i arapski aktivisti za ljudska prava godinama optužuju Asada i za nestanak velikoga broja ljudi. Amnesty International u svom godišnjem izvješću za 2022. govori o „desecima tisuća ljudi" koji su nestali tokom rata, dok drugi spominju brojku od čak 111.000 nestalih. Mreže za ljudska prava uglavnom terete sirijski režim za većinu proizvoljnih uhićenja i prisilnih nestanaka. I UN-ova izvješća spominju tisuće nestalih, ali i zatočenih koji su žrtve mučenja i seksualnog nasilja po zatvorima.

Dokumentirano je više od 15 tisuća smrti u zatočeništvu, uzrokovanih mučenjem Asadovih sadista. Neki od mučitelja su osuđeni za takve zločine u državama zapada, poput Anwara Raslana u Njemačkoj: proglašen je krivim za najmanje 27 ubojstava, mučenja, nanošenje opasnih tjelesnih povreda i seksualno nasilje. Optužnica je govorila o "rasprostranjenom i sistematskom napadu na civilno stanovništvo".

Povrh svega, Asadov režim je u zadnje vrijeme ozbiljno optuživan i za proizvodnju i trgovinu drogom. Pod direktnom zaštitom države ušlo se u proizvodnju kaptagona, lijeka na bazi fenetilina, koji ima izrazito stimulativno djelovanje. Njegove moguće nuspojave uključuju oštećenje mozga, psihoze i srčane udare.

Sirija je, prema izvješćima internacionalnih fundacija koje se bave nadzorom narko-biznisa, postala jedna od vodećih svjetskih narko-korporacija koja preko luka povezanih s mediteranskim brodskim koridorima i kopnenim rutama prema Jordanu, Libanonu i Iraku, na trgovini drogom zgrće ozbiljan novac. Izvoz fenetilina iz Sirije dosegnuo je navodno tržišnu vrijednost od najmanje 3,5 milijarde eura godišnje.

Nakon više od desetljeća suspenzije, Sirija bi uskoro trebala biti ponovo primljena u Arapsku ligu. To su prošlog vikenda u Kairu odlučili ministri vanjskih poslova zemalja članica. Time će se blagosloviti povratak na međunarodnu scenu države koja je, prema brojnim međunarodnim izvješćima, više puta terećena za najteža moguća kršenja građanskih i ljudskih prava. U sirijskom građanskom ratu režim je optuživan za zloporabu otrovnih plinova i drugog kemijskog oružja te za brojna druga kršenja međunarodnih konvencija, piše Slobodna Dalmacija.

Kao bliska ruska saveznica, Sirija je pod režimom Bašara al-Asada branila njegovu vlast mnogim dopuštenim i nedopuštenim sredstvima. UN se prije nepunih mjesec dana pozvao na valjane razloge koji upućuju da je iza napada kemijskim oružjem na Dumu 2018., u kojemu je poginulo više od 40 civila, stajao Asadov aparat. Sirijski program kemijskog oružja razvijan je i nakon što je država prihvatila međunarodne konvencije koje ga zabranjuju. Režim je u deset godina, od 2012. do 2022., izveo ukupno 217 napada kemijskim oružjem. Najmanje 1500 ljudi je poginulo u tim napadima, uključujući 205 djece i 260 žena, a ozlijeđeno je preko 12 tisuća.

Sirijski diktator koristio je masovno protiv vlastitih građana i tzv. bačvaste bombe. U prvih devet godina rata bacio je gotovo 82.000 takvih bombi. Zbog njihova razornog, ali nepreciznog učinka, one slove za posebno okrutne i zabranjene su među civiliziranim narodima. Njima je ubijeno najmanje 11 tisuća civila u Siriji, te više od 1800 djece.

Osim za ubojstva, međunarodni i arapski aktivisti za ljudska prava godinama optužuju Asada i za nestanak velikoga broja ljudi. Amnesty International u svom godišnjem izvješću za 2022. govori o „desecima tisuća ljudi" koji su nestali tokom rata, dok drugi spominju brojku od čak 111.000 nestalih. Mreže za ljudska prava uglavnom terete sirijski režim za većinu proizvoljnih uhićenja i prisilnih nestanaka. I UN-ova izvješća spominju tisuće nestalih, ali i zatočenih koji su žrtve mučenja i seksualnog nasilja po zatvorima.

Dokumentirano je više od 15 tisuća smrti u zatočeništvu, uzrokovanih mučenjem Asadovih sadista. Neki od mučitelja su osuđeni za takve zločine u državama zapada, poput Anwara Raslana u Njemačkoj: proglašen je krivim za najmanje 27 ubojstava, mučenja, nanošenje opasnih tjelesnih povreda i seksualno nasilje. Optužnica je govorila o "rasprostranjenom i sistematskom napadu na civilno stanovništvo".

Povrh svega, Asadov režim je u zadnje vrijeme ozbiljno optuživan i za proizvodnju i trgovinu drogom. Pod direktnom zaštitom države ušlo se u proizvodnju kaptagona, lijeka na bazi fenetilina, koji ima izrazito stimulativno djelovanje. Njegove moguće nuspojave uključuju oštećenje mozga, psihoze i srčane udare.

Sirija je, prema izvješćima internacionalnih fundacija koje se bave nadzorom narko-biznisa, postala jedna od vodećih svjetskih narko-korporacija koja preko luka povezanih s mediteranskim brodskim koridorima i kopnenim rutama prema Jordanu, Libanonu i Iraku, na trgovini drogom zgrće ozbiljan novac. Izvoz fenetilina iz Sirije dosegnuo je navodno tržišnu vrijednost od najmanje 3,5 milijarde eura godišnje.
