Grad Rijeka je domaćin Final 4 Eurocupa. Stigla je potvrda - javio je sportski direktor Jug Adriatic osiguranja Ognjen Kržić. 

Dakle, na Kantridi će se 17. i 18. svibnja odlučivati o pobjedniku europskog trofeja, tko će naslijediti na tronu mađarski A-Hid Vasas Plaket? Jugaši su ga izbacili u osmini finala, dobili ga u Gružu, te potom i na Bela Komjadiju. Nakon toga su izvukli za suparnika Crvenu zvezdu u četvrtfinalu, te i nju dobili prvo doma, a zatim vanka. Baš su na uvjerljiv način izborili prolaz među četiri najbolja protiv srpskog doprvaka.

U polufinalu, prvog dana Final 4, čeka ih španjolski Astrapool CN Sabadell. 

Inače, hrvatski vaterpolo ima dva svoja aduta na Final 4 u Rijeci, drugi je domaćin, Primorje Erste banka. Kako je sastav Igora Hinića sve iznenadio u četvrtfinalu, pa i prije toga, već u osmini finala! Podsjetnik, u osmini finala je izbacio Dinamo iz Tbilisija, sudionika Eurolige, prvaka Gruzije. Pobijedio ga je i u njegovom domu, a u četvrtfinalu prošao dalje nakon što je u prvoj utakmici u Ateni poražen od Vouliagmenija, prošle sezone sudionika polufinala europske Lige prvaka, i to s 9:14. Na Kantridi je slavio sa šest razlike!

Rijeka je 2009. godine bila domaćin Final 4 europske Lige prvaka. I tad je hrvatski vaterpolo imao dva svoja aduta. Valjda će Kantrida ovaj put biti sretna za zemlju aktualnih svjetskih prvaka (i te 2009. smo u tom trenutku bili aktualni svjetski prvaci). Kako bi bilo lijepo na kraju imati hrvatsko finale! Nažalost, prije 15 godina se to priželjkivalo, ali se nije dogodilo. Niti je Jug uspio izboriti finale, nije uspio iznenaditi u polufinalu branitelja naslova, PRO Recco, a HAVK Mladost je pala u ogledu protiv Primorca iz Kotora, koji je potom priredio senzaciju i u finalu. Čudo. Nezaboravnih 8:7. Prste u tom uspjehu Primorca imao je Emil Nikolić, jugova legenda. 

Eto, 15 godina poslije Darko Brguljan, koji je s Primorcem ispisao senzaciju na Kantridi, sad je najiskusniji igrač Primorja EB. Maro Joković, danas najtrofejniji hrvatski vaterpolist svih vremena, bio je u proljeće 2009. godine izvan stroja. Bila mu je upitna karijera zbog djelomične tromboze potključne kosti. Oticala mu je lijeva ruka. Jug nije mogao tad računati ni na Pava Markovića, još jednog zlatnog iz Melbournea...

Primorje Erste banka u polufinalu Final 4 Eurocupa igra sad protiv njemačkog Spandau 04. 

Jugaši su dva od sedam europskih trofeja podigli izvan Gruža/Kupara. Prvo europski Superkup 2006. u Bresciji, a 2016. godine naslov prvaka Europe u Budimpešti.

Nakon toga su izvukli za suparnika Crvenu zvezdu u četvrtfinalu, te i nju dobili prvo doma, a zatim vanka. Baš su na uvjerljiv način izborili prolaz među četiri najbolja protiv srpskog doprvaka.

U polufinalu, prvog dana Final 4, čeka ih španjolski Astrapool CN Sabadell. 

Inače, hrvatski vaterpolo ima dva svoja aduta na Final 4 u Rijeci, drugi je domaćin, Primorje Erste banka. Kako je sastav Igora Hinića sve iznenadio u četvrtfinalu, pa i prije toga, već u osmini finala! Podsjetnik, u osmini finala je izbacio Dinamo iz Tbilisija, sudionika Eurolige, prvaka Gruzije. Pobijedio ga je i u njegovom domu, a u četvrtfinalu prošao dalje nakon što je u prvoj utakmici u Ateni poražen od Vouliagmenija, prošle sezone sudionika polufinala europske Lige prvaka, i to s 9:14. Na Kantridi je slavio sa šest razlike!

Rijeka je 2009. godine bila domaćin Final 4 europske Lige prvaka. I tad je hrvatski vaterpolo imao dva svoja aduta. Valjda će Kantrida ovaj put biti sretna za zemlju aktualnih svjetskih prvaka (i te 2009. smo u tom trenutku bili aktualni svjetski prvaci). Kako bi bilo lijepo na kraju imati hrvatsko finale! Nažalost, prije 15 godina se to priželjkivalo, ali se nije dogodilo. Niti je Jug uspio izboriti finale, nije uspio iznenaditi u polufinalu branitelja naslova, PRO Recco, a HAVK Mladost je pala u ogledu protiv Primorca iz Kotora, koji je potom priredio senzaciju i u finalu. Čudo. Nezaboravnih 8:7. Prste u tom uspjehu Primorca imao je Emil Nikolić, jugova legenda. 

Eto, 15 godina poslije Darko Brguljan, koji je s Primorcem ispisao senzaciju na Kantridi, sad je najiskusniji igrač Primorja EB. Maro Joković, danas najtrofejniji hrvatski vaterpolist svih vremena, bio je u proljeće 2009. godine izvan stroja. Bila mu je upitna karijera zbog djelomične tromboze potključne kosti. Oticala mu je lijeva ruka. Jug nije mogao tad računati ni na Pava Markovića, još jednog zlatnog iz Melbournea...

Primorje Erste banka u polufinalu Final 4 Eurocupa igra sad protiv njemačkog Spandau 04. 

Jugaši su dva od sedam europskih trofeja podigli izvan Gruža/Kupara. Prvo europski Superkup 2006. u Bresciji, a 2016. godine naslov prvaka Europe u Budimpešti.

Grad Rijeka je domaćin Final 4 Eurocupa. Stigla je potvrda - javio je sportski direktor Jug Adriatic osiguranja Ognjen Kržić. 

Dakle, na Kantridi će se 17. i 18. svibnja odlučivati o pobjedniku europskog trofeja, tko će naslijediti na tronu mađarski A-Hid Vasas Plaket? Jugaši su ga izbacili u osmini finala, dobili ga u Gružu, te potom i na Bela Komjadiju.
