Točnije, s kabelskih servisa Hulu i HBO u serijalu 'Velika' od sredine svibnja žezlom vitla darovita Elle Fanning u ulozi njemačke plemkinje koja osvaja pravoslavni imperij.

Da će serija imati nekonvencionalan odmak prema faktografiji, moglo se naslutiti čim je za scenarista odabran Australac Tony McNamara, nominiran za Oskara za hvaljeni i nagrađivani film 'Miljenica' grčkog redatelja Yorgosa Lanthimosa.

McNamara je i ovaj put procijenio da će današnjoj publici, pretežito kratke koncentracije i slabog interesa za historiografiju dobro sjesti proizvoljno tumačenje prošlosti u funkciji 'bildanja' radnje. Takvu je nakanu ozakonio bilješkom 'Povremeno točna priča' u najavnoj špici. I doista, tu za povijesnu točnost nitko ne mari, zadan je tek vremenski i modni okvir 18. stoljeća unutar kojeg se natiskuju likovi važni za sazrijevanje glavne protagonistice.

Katarinin muž Petar III. (Nicholas Hoult) ovdje je sin (a zapravo unuk) Petra Velikog, psihički nestabilan kompleksaš i hedonist koji više brine o provodima nego carskim dužnostima.

Knez Orlov (Sacha Dhawan), u povijesti znan kao caričin priležnik i politički teškaš, u 'Velikoj' je kolebljivac skloniji čitanju u osami negoli ratovanju. Intrigiran je lik sluškinje Marial (Phoebe Fox) koja se bolje snalazi kao pučistica negoli spremačica u budoiru. Na valu aktualne krilatice 'I can't breath!' koja zaziva rasnu ravnopravnost mnogi su carski gardisti u seriji tamnoputi.

U McNamarinoj 'drobilici' povijesnog žanra kakvog poznajemo i (ne) volimo, 'razvaljen' je i jezik epohe pa umjesto kićenih izraza akteri posežu za uzvicima i psovkama kakve priliče uličnim prepirkama 21. stoljeća. Sličan nonšalantan pristup povijesti prvi put je, ali manje napadno, viđen u CBS-ovu TV serijalu 'Vladarica' gdje škotska kraljica Maria Stuart više nalikuje generaciji 'milenijevaca', negoli nesretnoj pripadnici dinastije iz 16.stoljeća.

Što se 'Velike' tiče, serijal unatoč svom 'primijenjenom revizionizmu' uz odlično posložen glumački ansambl uopće ne djeluje jeftino. Ekstravagancije i povijesna odstupanja mame gledatelje koji će u svakoj od deset epizoda (ne)svjesno tragati za nelogičnostima, pretjerivanjima i satiričnim doskočicama Katarininog prosvijećenog apsolutizma. Točnije, s kabelskih servisa Hulu i HBO u serijalu 'Velika' od sredine svibnja žezlom vitla darovita Elle Fanning u ulozi njemačke plemkinje koja osvaja pravoslavni imperij.

Da će serija imati nekonvencionalan odmak prema faktografiji, moglo se naslutiti čim je za scenarista odabran Australac Tony McNamara, nominiran za Oskara za hvaljeni i nagrađivani film 'Miljenica' grčkog redatelja Yorgosa Lanthimosa.

McNamara je i ovaj put procijenio da će današnjoj publici, pretežito kratke koncentracije i slabog interesa za historiografiju dobro sjesti proizvoljno tumačenje prošlosti u funkciji 'bildanja' radnje. Takvu je nakanu ozakonio bilješkom 'Povremeno točna priča' u najavnoj špici. I doista, tu za povijesnu točnost nitko ne mari, zadan je tek vremenski i modni okvir 18. stoljeća unutar kojeg se natiskuju likovi važni za sazrijevanje glavne protagonistice.

Katarinin muž Petar III. (Nicholas Hoult) ovdje je sin (a zapravo unuk) Petra Velikog, psihički nestabilan kompleksaš i hedonist koji više brine o provodima nego carskim dužnostima.

Knez Orlov (Sacha Dhawan), u povijesti znan kao caričin priležnik i politički teškaš, u 'Velikoj' je kolebljivac skloniji čitanju u osami negoli ratovanju. Intrigiran je lik sluškinje Marial (Phoebe Fox) koja se bolje snalazi kao pučistica negoli spremačica u budoiru. Na valu aktualne krilatice 'I can't breath!' koja zaziva rasnu ravnopravnost mnogi su carski gardisti u seriji tamnoputi.

U McNamarinoj 'drobilici' povijesnog žanra kakvog poznajemo i (ne) volimo, 'razvaljen' je i jezik epohe pa umjesto kićenih izraza akteri posežu za uzvicima i psovkama kakve priliče uličnim prepirkama 21. stoljeća. Sličan nonšalantan pristup povijesti prvi put je, ali manje napadno, viđen u CBS-ovu TV serijalu 'Vladarica' gdje škotska kraljica Maria Stuart više nalikuje generaciji 'milenijevaca', negoli nesretnoj pripadnici dinastije iz 16.stoljeća.

Što se 'Velike' tiče, serijal unatoč svom 'primijenjenom revizionizmu' uz odlično posložen glumački ansambl uopće ne djeluje jeftino. Ekstravagancije i povijesna odstupanja mame gledatelje koji će u svakoj od deset epizoda (ne)svjesno tragati za nelogičnostima, pretjerivanjima i satiričnim doskočicama Katarininog prosvijećenog apsolutizma. Domaća publika još pamti 'Ekaterinu', raskošno produciranu seriju ruske produkcije o ranim godinama najdugovječnije vladarice carske Rusije Katarine Velike (Marina Aleksandrova), a ista nas vladarica ponovno pohodi s malih ekrana. Točnije, s kabelskih servisa Hulu i HBO u serijalu 'Velika' od sredine svibnja žezlom vitla darovita Elle Fanning u ulozi njemačke plemkinje koja osvaja pravoslavni imperij.

Da će serija imati nekonvencionalan odmak prema faktografiji, moglo se naslutiti čim je za scenarista odabran Australac Tony McNamara, nominiran za Oskara za hvaljeni i nagrađivani film 'Miljenica' grčkog redatelja Yorgosa Lanthimosa.

McNamara je i ovaj put procijenio da će današnjoj publici, pretežito kratke koncentracije i slabog interesa za historiografiju dobro sjesti proizvoljno tumačenje prošlosti u funkciji 'bildanja' radnje. Takvu je nakanu ozakonio bilješkom 'Povremeno točna priča' u najavnoj špici. I doista, tu za povijesnu točnost nitko ne mari, zadan je tek vremenski i modni okvir 18. stoljeća unutar kojeg se natiskuju likovi važni za sazrijevanje glavne protagonistice.

Katarinin muž Petar III. (Nicholas Hoult) ovdje je sin (a zapravo unuk) Petra Velikog, psihički nestabilan kompleksaš i hedonist koji više brine o provodima nego carskim dužnostima.

Knez Orlov (Sacha Dhawan), u povijesti znan kao caričin priležnik i politički teškaš, u 'Velikoj' je kolebljivac skloniji čitanju u osami negoli ratovanju. Intrigiran je lik sluškinje Marial (Phoebe Fox) koja se bolje snalazi kao pučistica negoli spremačica u budoiru. Na valu aktualne krilatice 'I can't breath!' koja zaziva rasnu ravnopravnost mnogi su carski gardisti u seriji tamnoputi.

U McNamarinoj 'drobilici' povijesnog žanra kakvog poznajemo i (ne) volimo, 'razvaljen' je i jezik epohe pa umjesto kićenih izraza akteri posežu za uzvicima i psovkama kakve priliče uličnim prepirkama 21. stoljeća. Sličan nonšalantan pristup povijesti prvi put je, ali manje napadno, viđen u CBS-ovu TV serijalu 'Vladarica' gdje škotska kraljica Maria Stuart više nalikuje generaciji 'milenijevaca', negoli nesretnoj pripadnici dinastije iz 16.stoljeća.

Što se 'Velike' tiče, serijal unatoč svom 'primijenjenom revizionizmu' uz odlično posložen glumački ansambl uopće ne djeluje jeftino. Ekstravagancije i povijesna odstupanja mame gledatelje koji će u svakoj od deset epizoda (ne)svjesno tragati za nelogičnostima, pretjerivanjima i satiričnim doskočicama Katarininog prosvijećenog apsolutizma.
